Hello sir, hope you are doing great. I enjoyed all your videos and learnt a lot about pipe restoration. Hope you will make more. Stay safe and thanks for everything
Hi,man. Have you any projects on meerschaum pipes? As for example... repairing the interior meerschaum of a briar pipe. That would be very nice. I have that sort of problem and dont know how to proceed. Great channel, very good tips and excellent dedication of yours.
@@BarePipe thanks for your answer.Yes, I've did it. Its very detailed and helpfull. In this case, my question to you was because I have a severe crack on the top part of the meerschaum, near the edge of the bowl. Do you know about any way to repair or to mask that? may be refilling it or something else. I can not top the bowl because it would ruin the shape and the edge is very sharp. For me is really a dead end to try to restore it.
Daniel Mazzoni if the crack is only in the meerschaum portion you can patch it with plaster of Paris. However it will not discolor in the same way as the meerschaum once you smoke it. I hope that helps.
Fascinating video! What kind of black or burgundy dye do you use? It has to be heat resistant so as not to flake off, no? Are there special pipe staining dyes and where do you obtain them? Was the flaming to fast cure the stain, why not oven dry or overnight at room temp?
