@EasyLifeES 7 месяцев назад
I did not try those "Xplr boost" so I can't say how they are or how big is the real stack inside... Ultraboost 5 is just OK but, the stack is NOT ENOUGH for lifestyle (hard to recommend those). Why not trying "RETROPY E5" instead? Those had better cushioning than Ultraboost 5 by far. I actually even made a video with them at some point (but never had the time to edit and publish) but, they were quite nice for lifestyle sneakers.

There is no point in saying you'd like changes made to these sneakers. These sneakers came out way before the 20s. Ultraboost 20 was made to be an improvement on these sneakers. These sneakers are still being made because people prefer this original design for casual wear over the Ultraboost 20, 21 & 22. Those are made strictly for performance.

In the pair that I HAD in my episode, they didn't had extra glue. IF your pair has, but it doesn't really bother you... just ignore it I guess (IF it doesn't ruin the entire look of the shoe, of course). IF you are NOT OK with that, just ask for a change or refund (normally no one will have anything against that, they will replace it). Let me know what you decide it and how it went, if you give them back (I'm just curious).
@afarro
@afarro Год назад
I think it’s about the same amount that I can see on your shoes @2:48 and @4:00 (between plastic hill and fabric) and @4:56 at front you can clearly see some excess glue. I got mine all black from a site and was worried if it’s fake but I guess that much glue is normal. The shoes I got otherwise seem legit as I can tell by the materials used and it wears very well but again hard to tell these days. Other thing I noticed that the position of the size tag under the tongue seems a bit inconsistent between right and left shoes (the text looks ok). I guess the position is something that might not be exact I guess. Anyway thanks for the info.
@EasyLifeES

@@afarro In black color always look worse than it is that glue (visually is easier to see it), it doesn't matter the brand honestly... Nike... Adidas... NB... Sometimes is in yellowish color... that is the worse for me. I've seen with "extra glue" and here is not the case. Here in this video it is in "reasonably quantities" (less it might not last the same). This amount I can still call it "normal". Is just the black color that makes it pop that way. You're welcome btw!

ultraboost20 or dna 5.0 ~ Which one is more comfortable when you wear shoes? And how is the width of the foot, the height of the foot, and the upper feel different?
@EasyLifeES
@EasyLifeES Год назад
Hi, UB20 remained my favorites, because of the softer midsole (the old Boost that everyone loved), the sockfeel tongue from the upper also for me is a plus. The sole is about the same. Maybe the one from UB20 slightly more sticker... So little bit more noisier on the interiors with flat clean surfaces... wood floors or ceramic. I don't have to deal with the thickness from the tongue that I found in UB 5 DNA a bit too warm for the summer. Both are slightly narrower (all Ultraboost models are with other brands), all though for me it wasn't a problem so far, but I've heard other saying that quite often. The upper from UB 20 I liked more because is more breathable and just a bit more thinner overall. UB 5 DNA remains my second choice. If you need them as lifestyle sneakers probably you should buy them in +0.5 up, to have a more comfy feeling with them and avoid being too tight on your instep if you have like me some arch (valid for both). The uppers are both stretchable and I belive in time they might loose a bit, but I prefer full comfort from day 1. This way you won't create unnecessary pressure points on them.

@@Bambotb It depends how are your feet... wide, narrow, low arch... bigger etc. Not all the models will fit everyone equally (myself included). I have a bigger arch and that it reducing quite a bit the number of models that fit me well. For me NB is in general good option. Also Asics do well.

Is the foam durable? I run on cemented track and worry about the foam wearing out quickly. Just ordered these.
@EasyLifeES
@EasyLifeES Год назад
The Boost foam is durable in general, but they are other factors that are really important for the overall durability of the shoe. The sole on this Adidas model is sticky and has a decent grip on wet but, is softer than in other sneakers that I've tried so far. Things to consider before placing an order and just a quick reminder (how to choose your footwear): 1. Measure your feet (in the evening, or when they might be swollen). - length & width - take an A4 sheet of paper, your both feet by turn... the heel touching a flat vertical surface like a wall (for example draw a ruff contur to get your footprint size and measure with a metric tape. Search in YT videos.) - arch height over the metatarsal bones and over the instep bones - with a metric tape (optional). Be sure to keep the bigger numbers from both feet: i.e left has 25.7 and right has 26.3... we keep 26.3 value and so on. Or try a Brannock device in any specialized running sneakers store to give you a clue of your size. 2. Choose the way that you are going to use them: asphalt, mountain, field, forest, combined. They can be more rugged or "less aggressive" in the outsole and the midsole compound ( the thickness will vary also). Running in park it won't be the same as in a forest (rocks, pieces of wood, dirt etc). You will need running sneakers or trail sneakers... 3. Take a scale and find out your weight (they are 3 categories here): - 65 - 75 kg (143.3 - 165.3lbs). You are lightweight, so the cushioning is NOT as much need it like for someone with a bigger weight (except maybe if you do recovery for any reason or you just enjoy it that way) - 75 - 85 kg (165.3 - 187.4lbs). You should start consider thicker midsoles to avoid future injuries. - over 85 kg/ 187.4lbs (over that weight). You should search a sneaker that can help your feet to "swallow your weight", otherwise your knees, hip, back etc. will start to give some pain after a while of use. 4. Count the number of km or miles/week: doing 100km (62 miles)/week or 30 minutes of daily walking is not the same. Here consider the type of rubber in the sole and its thickness 5. Know your footprint (study the sole of your used shoes) and also look at your plant if you have calluses and where... If you have them, something is wrong with your shoes (better see a podiatrist). 6. Try to know your ideal size and "the last" (this is more suitable for dress shoes and boots): Insert your foot and push until you can touch the inside of the front part and insert your index/little finger without effort or take out the insole and make sure that you have about 5-8 mm left over of the longest toe you have.Also look at the contour of the foot that is not much above the insole... The maximum width of your footprint should be around 10mm in my opinion, otherwise we will have injuries over time with pressure points 7. When to go and buy your sneakers: At the end of the day (i.e 8PM or after finishing doing a shift), the foot will be swollen and then you can add 5-8mm to have adequate comfort "over the swollen feet"! I hope this helps you somehow!

@@EasyLifeES Could not have got a more detailed answer on how to choose a good shoe. Thank you very much. 🙂 I'm an intermediate runner with 4 km run everyday and mostly lifting weights the other time. @EasyLifeES
@EasyLifeES Год назад
@@freud1025 Great to hear that was useful. "I'm an intermediate runner with 4 km run everyday..." - Anything is "something". And that is the most important thing. "and mostly lifting weights the other time." - For "that", you should consider searching different kind of sneakers in the future. They are dedicated brands/models for this sport. You can use any kind of footwear but, in order to avoid injuries is better to find those that are "dedicated". Because lifting weights will make your feet wobbly in non-dedicated regular footwear, in other words the Boost midsole will be too soft for this activity. For this activity the sole should be a lot firmer and not to mention the midsole... P.S: If you still like to enjoy the cushioning while you use "a dedicated shoe or at least one with firmer midsole+sole", you can change the original insoles with something like "Hefe Luxx insoles" (or other brands that use a similar compound) to still benefit of that softness while your feet are secure inside.

It all depends of how are our feet in the end. Mine might have a decent comfort with this model and completely different story with other Adidas model. So... I can't say really that I am surprised anymore... unfortunately. But is true that usually Ultraboost in general are more narrow then other models from different brands like Nike, Asics or NB. Also the age can be sometimes a factor... over 30-40 we tend to have more wider feet than a teen for example. In that case, I normally recommend NOT to go size up but, instead just skip that particular model. I don't know if is your case but, "that" happens a lot, from what I've seen son far.

About your question of those Adidas ULTRABOOST 1.0 lcfp's, that particular model I haven't try it yet and I feel that they do it because otherwise they are very narrow and tight and it won't be a large number of people that could use it "in that way" (I mean with insoles inside) and they want to sell them as much as they can no matter what... I've tried UB 1's in the past (Ep87) so I know how they are. I personally can't encourage people buying footwear with no insoles inside, because those have their own purpose and they prevent overheating and also add extra cushioning to the feet. Honestly people should be indignated and make returns one after other till they stop with this nonsense. This act shows how greedy they can be! This is terrible... Because without the insoles you have "almost" direct access to the Boost midsoles (there is a very thin and perforated layer over the Boost that won't last more than few days maybe weeks with some luck) and that might look awesome at first (because is "so soft") but, only for few minutes, till the footbed starts to overheat and create some moisture inside and that will create very quickly the best environment for icky feet (similar to a pair of rubber boots). The fabric material that covers the insoles is not there... just because... It does have his own purpose and we should STOP (all of us) this kind of "trend" before to be something "normal" one day like they manage to do with extremely thin rubber soles in the past 2-3 years right under our noses (even though I had been protested continuously, but I am way "too small" to make a difference at least for now). IF you show a shoe like that with no insole inside to a podiatrist, then you will see his/hers natural reaction to NOT have an insole inside. Because is STUPIDLY dangerous... And they are 200$!?! How they can get away with this??? THEY REALLY HAVE SOME NERVE! Here for this kind of "situations" is when I start to believe more and more that IT should exist one kind of "organism" (similar to OCU here in Spain) to controls everything but we needed to be done BEFORE is released in mass-production for the large public, because this is dangerous for our health! I don't even want to imagine how many foot related problems/disease can be provoked by footwear without insoles inside (blisters, bunions, toenail fungus and so on). This is NOT something to be ignored (and more so with "the new temperatures" that we have these days every time more often). P.S: I know that my English is lame, I've said it myself in countless times (even in the description of the channel) so not really a surprise to me that you've notice it and many others obviously... :)

That extra padding is so unecessary. In addition it takes serious effort just to get into these lol, and they hug my foot way to tight around the opening and near the tongue. Such a shame, because looks wise its as good as it gets for me.
@EasyLifeES
@EasyLifeES Год назад
Agree with the padding issue. That's why I prefer UB20 over these ones. Also the tongue area is more pleasant in UB20/19.5... For me these UB5 is not my first choice for summer... At least here in Spain... They are a bit much with that padding.

TTS ? (8us in Nike )
@EasyLifeES
@EasyLifeES Год назад
For ME are TTS these UB DNA 5 sneakers, but not as wide as Ultraboost Web, Ultra Boost M or UB 19.5 (these 3 models have slightly more room in the toebox area and more comfy on the instep for my feet having a bigger arch) . The all 3 have a regular width for me, which I prefer. UB DNA 5 needs some use to get there (I believe, although the elastic kind of knit it does help). I hope this is useful info!

Don’t hate on the 22s. They are just different styles. I have these and 22s and love them both. These I can rock with some slim jeans and joggers, but 22 goes more with joggers and running.
@EasyLifeES

UB22 for me they don't even pass the "comfort test"... So anything else dosen't even matter (for me, because this is my experience with them on MY feet).

Are you sure you’re not talking about the 21? They made slight differences in comfort. Squishier and softer ankle support
@EasyLifeES
@EasyLifeES 2 года назад
@@gz7173 I'm not sure if you saw a video of mine with UB22's (any of them from this channel), my biggest problem with them is with the "new cage" that is poorly made and now is digging into my instep. About the boost in UB22, although it looks being a lot of foam in that midsole, the cushioning is not enough (even worst than other older Ultraboost models). On the heel is at most OK and under the toebox is like "none existing"... 22mm & 12mm (!) with that new torsion system is killing the overall the comfort for my feet. This "stack" was also in UB20, but those having the older torsion system (aka less plastic under your toe box) they weren't this much affected. Actually the impact was pretty minimal. So, for me after 2020, Adidas has made 2 steps backwards, you know... like a shrimp will do. :) This was MY experience with UB22... on paper everything looks cool and even maybe visually... A lot of foam to see, but in real life more problems than in previous models. Who knows all these models, knows well what I'm saying here.

Does anyone else’s Ultraboost 5.0 make your feet tingle or fall asleep at the top of your foot near the tongue. I don’t know if this is because I need to break them in or just because they are two tight in that area
@EasyLifeES
@EasyLifeES Год назад
The way that you are explaine your problem, it seems that you have a high arch and/or possible wider feet for these sneakers and that creates pressure points around the tongue being too tight for you or maybe you just need to relax those laces at full, till they feel that you have enough space inside. I don't think you need breaking in time with them when you feel "those things"... This model for you is just too tight and you should try to find something else instead, before having bigger problems with your feet. I felt similar when I didn't open the laces enough right from the base till the top of them and the sneakers were TOO narrow for my feet. These things can happen with some models and I believe that even if they have a very good price/discount, color that you like etc. IF they don't have instant comfort they should go back and just ask for a refund and search something in "a dedicated store" without carrying too much what brand they are, till it fits your needs as they should... Remember the health of our feet is much more important than the brand, or the model, or the silhouette etc. P.S: Once you start having problems with your feet, good luck recovering from that!

Hey bro is ub 5.0 dna GB8714 worth for 90$? Im planning to buy one
@EasyLifeES
@EasyLifeES Год назад
As far as the longevity goes... Yeah... They are durable enough... About the comfort and cushioning that depends more of how are your feet and what needs you have for them. They run slightly to the norrower side, so depending of your feet they might be good or not. The upper is thick and durable but for summer a bit too warm sometimes. I hope this extra info is useful to you!

@@EasyLifeES last question, is ub good to use in workout/lifting? Or vans chucks is better? I have been using ub in working out, but saw thread that chucks are better?
@EasyLifeES
@EasyLifeES Год назад
For weigthlifting is better to have a firm sole+midsole otherwise you risk injuring yourself, because the running sneakers have softer foams in them for cushioning but, stability is afected quite a bit when you have to balance yourself and at the same time you also have something in your hands with extra weight. Exists dedicated footwear for any kind of sports (weigthlifting included) but, they tend to be expensive sometimes. Probably even Chucks or Vans will perform better than any kind of "running sneakers" due to the flat rubber soles. Something like "Adidas Adipower Weightlifting II" might be an affordable option, if you seach well in online stores...

I guess they are made for regular-narrower feet. So having a narrower feet is almost an advantage. For my feet I felt them a little bit tight at first. But maybe it has something to do with my bigger arch/instep shape. I hope this helps!
