@@TheAvalanchilator the weapon triangle is swords beat axes, axes beat lances(or Spears), lances beats swords. There's also a magic equal call the Trinity of magic light beats dark, dark beats anima, anima beats light. Staves and bows are neutral
@@sckecherten8304 it was a joke. It was supposed to be some sort of statement on how the weapon triangle has barely any effect, especially late in the game. It's also an exaggeration because it is massively important in the early game and can prevent a lot of damage and improves accuracy at any time. Magic triangle matters even less.
4:16 I'll provide you with a messy end to your sorry life *First hit crits and kills with the exact amount* Me: Valter, you should have not been in heroes
During the Ephraim vs. Orson fight: Orson: Do you remember that hunting trip in Darkling woods? I took those poisonous thorns for you, Ephraim, and almost died! Ephraim: I missed when we fought together... Orson: It's all behind us now... Defend yourself! Ephraim: (blocking Orson's sword) You fixed Renais' army real good... my ex-friend...!
Valter: Will you finally provide me with some amusement? Ephraim (to Valter): I'll provide you with a sorry end to your miserable life. Ephraim: Oh really? *crits*
It's kinda sad to see, around the start and mostly throughout the video Ephraim is strong enough to brawl with the elite of the continent, but each battle still takes time and energy for him to overcome. But by the end he becomes a killing machine capable of slaughtering anything with one slice, but the only warriors left to use that power on are the dragon that saved humanity, and his best friend (and also Riev and the Demon King are there but pls ignore them for this analogy). The story of obtaining such grand power but only being able to use it on his closest friend us fitting for a man who wanted nothing more than to become a mercenary.
"Demon king! I'm going to kill you!" and the man meant it. His primal hatred burns so much fury that even the demon King's 1000 yrs of rage could barely held a candle to it
Granted, the RNG is way easier to manage in Sacred Stones than in the other two gbas. Hence why Gerik usually outclasses Raven, Ogier and Dieck on the average playthrough. At least they learned not to give Ephraim a super dense weapon like they did with Eliwood, especially given how similar their stats are (speed-wise).
4:05. Man, this guy is a legend. He made a very calm clarification somehow really ba just by being so calm and blatantly stating the obvious. And then just blatantly tells Lyon he is still inferior to him in combat even after going on a long schpeel about how he got stronger. And then goes onto one shot the final boss. Like this man just gives no f*cks and understands how OP he is. I love it.
uh by the time she gets to her final class and max levell... with the luck I got and with two str stat boosters. she gets max str lol and she can easily kill darco zombies. meanwhile slow units like gilliam will struggle lol
@@b1battledroidcommander844 since when were we talking about Gilliam.... I'm just saying Ephraim is. The better lord because eirikas low strength and defense make it hard to play with her mid game which hurts her or makes other players choose Ephraim. I'll admit, I didn't like eirika much at first although she performed like lyn without the critical. But then Ephraim comes along and takes over a castle with his underleveled self and some cavaliers and then somehow escapes valter. What a savage. As soon as I saw the route option I had no qualms about using Ephraim and even though he's at a low level it was worth it. Eirika is just there to me....
Seth you're trolling right. Ephraim comes in at level 4 and already performs better than eirika and comes with great weapons. He also trumps her because he has lances rather than swords for most of the game. He has better growths and although his route gets you slightly worse characters, both get tana who will most likely be used. Ephraim also destroys most of the bosses in the game easily and makes up for eirikas weak strength. As soon as Ephraim appears he has an aura of savagery for good reason making most pick Ephraim as best.
Seth oh god.... I'm so sorry.... I just read that sort of comment all the time and fired like a semi automatic rifle... i honestly have no clue which ones better. But I think I'd go with eliwood since he is forced to stick around the entire game and eirika can easily miss out on a good half of it. That creates a distinct level advantage since most people feel obligated to use their main lord. Even on hector mode, eliwood is good for his early promotion which eirika doesn't have... so I guess convenience was the deciding factor. Still really sorry tho.
Ugh i hated that chapter. It was hard trying to reach him, let alone kill him fast enough before the chapter ended due to his high evasion. And then on top of that trying to save the green units so get that reward.
i dunno, iam not even sure its the best boss quote from that game. its really good dont get me wrong, but i really like the conversation between orson and seth
For me hector is better if not on par with him both were cool and stong, both were very VERY savage, cool animations on both sides but i think hector is still better we all have our own opinions i like both
the main problem with Hector (and the sole reason Ephraim is slightly better) is that hector's movement after promotion SUCKS, especially in Hector Mode where he is your fucking main lord, and as such things can often get dragged on because hector is the one who has to seize (when applicable), and means he promotes late. though, in the end, it highly depends on the route you go. like, Eliwood route Hector is probably better as a unit since he doesn't drag you down in Seize maps and can premote somewhat earlier, and Ephraim is honestly mediocre in Eirika's route considering on her route, Ephraim is pretty much like what, the second to last character you get alongside Knoll and Duessel, and only coming before Myrhh by a chapter, and his availablility being bad by lord standards as a result
@@drewblock1365 of course, that's because your using boots on him :P i will note that when judging a character, i ussually refrain from taking into account statboosters of any kind (in fact, the fact that you need to use the boots, the rarest stat booster, in order to make him not hold everyone back, is not a great thing for my opinion of them)
That's not really saying a whole lot though when you've got the likes of Roy (who promotes extremely late), Eliwood (who's hindered by an atrocious final weapon and swordlocked until promotion), Lyn (who's promotion gives her bows, probably one of the worst weapons in the GBA titles and has crap defenses), and Eirika (who pretty much is just Roy with a mounted and earlier promotion). Hector is the only real threat to Ephraim's rule and Hector has armored movement.
@@spencerwendel3644 Well, not DURING the support itself, but his shoulder definitely awakens something in her, and I don't think their marriage in the epilogue was intended to be a caste affair!
I feel like in Ephraim's route lyon was just an asshole who uses the dark stone's powers just to best Ephraim. The creepy part is that i think in Ephraim's route Lyon was fully away of what he was doing was using the whole i was possessed by the demon king excuse to make is so that the war of the stones was not entirely his fault.
You're not entirely wrong. In Ephraim's route specifically, Fomortiis doesn't possess Lyon, he instead uses and manipulates Lyon's darkest thoughts and emotions to get him to do his bidding. This is why Lyon states he did all of it of his own volition, but he was also being manipulated.
Ephraimmode honestly kinda blows. The entire thing is just kinda stupid with how it wants to push all the actions on lyon but all the blame on the demon king. That is not how that works. Not to mention that the plot more or less requires Lyon to both be dumb and a scrub to even happen, because he himself knows the reason his potential plan cannot work.
You missed the part where he also wanted to save Grado because of the massive earthquake coming. Part of it was selfish, but part of it was also so he could save his country
You know, Tirado (Chapter 8, General) His death quote kinda hit me different. He wanted to kill our soldiers so they wouldn't have to suffer through Valter's torture. Now I kinda feel bad killing him.
Just remove Corrin. Make Lucina an alt if you really need to keep her in. It'd be a bit disappointing for Corrin's somewhat diverse playstyle, but we finally need someone to break the sword lord trope. And who'd be more fitting than Ephraim or Hector?
I feel like we need marth, ike, and Robin, screw lucina, and unfortunately, Roy and corrin, too. Just make them alts. I'd love to see a heavy axe swinger like hector or even a Ephraim on a horse, which is weird but insanely fun as an idea. However I've been waiting for a staff fighter in smash forever.... also less mario characters, more pokemon like a grass type. Think it'd be hilarious to see a freaking torterra kicking marios a**, but sceptile is more likely although I like grovyle more . And leave Ness and lucas both alone you bastards....
Lyon: I-I think I'm strong enough to beat you now ! Ephraim: BOY IF YOU DON'T SIT YOUR ASS DOWN. *Crit* *Leon is defeated* *Experience Points* *Level up! jingle* +1 RES
first Hector than Ephraim, they are both so strong what happened to me once was, in the hector version game, (i had evolved Hector), I used to do the missions dividing my team into squads, depending on the size and mission, there could be 1 or 3 squads, I think it was chapter 18, Hector formed a squad, Oswin(general) formed a squad, Louise,Pent and Kent formed a squad, Hector went from mid, Oswin from right and the others from left, eliwood and lyndis were guarding the tent. guess what happens, Hector's axe broke... Oh no, what now, I know, kent will deliver him an axe... nevermind, the entire battlefield attacked hectors, there were generals with silver lances, knights with javelien, horse archers with longbow and completely surrounded Hector... more than 12 people around him and guess what happens, Silver Lance damage = 0, javelian = 0, wvern knights attack = 0, Noone could damage him (his health was in 50s and lvl 13 I think)... I had to restart because one of the horsemen managed to spot the tent and went towards it and eliwood and lyn killed it but it resulted in more palladins, (only like 3 came) but it was enough to finish a newly evolved Lyn and eliwood meanwhile Hector was just chilling, unable to move
Ephraim is the most no nonsense Chad Lord of the GBA games, and possibly most other titles in general. Being locked to lances is reason enough, but his bases are strong and his growths are stronger. Despite getting a mount late in the game he still gets one. He’s just overall really good.
I mean, I find hector more of a chad, maybe pure like competitively stronger or stronger in the game, but a guy that literally has 90% of his attack animations be overhead jumping attacks screams more chad than just a badass recking stuff with his lance. Not to get me wrong ephraim is quite a chad and a fucking badass, but for the chad category I would say Hector just barely outdoes him.
