In your opinion, is it even worth trying to fish dirty water? I kayak fish so I'm forced to stay in close. I tried fishing the bayous for the last two days and can hardly get a bite.
So Ive caught a limit of fish several different times in dirty water. However Ive been skunked as well in dirty water. So you never know till you go and throw and fish have to eat regardless of water clarity.
Yes I do 20#mono. For the most part because I change lures a lot so Im cutting the leader and not taking away from the main line every time I change. I use a FG knot for tying min line braid to mono leader. My braid is 30# on all my inshore reels.
