Yes, "keladi" is Yam/taro, "keledek" is sweet potato. This "pasar malam" looks chill not busy and yet got so many different delicious foods, you guys are few of tourist/ youtubers that really explored the local foods in Malaysia, keep it up guys 👍
@@wanibrahim2993 Curry = Gravy For laksa/laksam we called it "kuah" Definition of Curry In its simplest form, curry is an Indian gravy or sauce that is used in tandem with meat, tofu, or vegetables. It's served rice, most popularly Basmati rice, and contains many different kinds of spices. Depending on what your recipe calls for, you could have a mild curry or a curry that's super spicy.
Drooling here. Don't forget to try Nasi Tumpang pre wrapped in banana leave cone, Laksam a flat rice noodles in coconut fish gravy and etok, smoked fresh water clams. You can get all these for breakfast too. Try the local kelantanese kueh like akok, jala emas, buah tanjung and coconut floats. 🤤
yes east coast got so many variety of food and deserts/ 'kuih'..im not Kelantanese, I really love eating Nasi Kerabu ..but Penang is good too...u can get the best taste of Chinese,Indian and Malay food... if u go to Penang, u should 'Roti Nan Cheese with Ayam Tandoori' at Kapitan Restaurant

Don't be surprised if you were to find the solok lada outside of KotaBharu(Kelantan) it may not be the same because the type of chilly used most probably not the same type, take care guys
The part of Thailand that borders Kelantan, were the sister state of Kelantan. Once the king of Patani ruled Kelantan. Then the king of Kelantan ruled Patani. They're the same people. Same stock. They even speak the same dialect, with the same accent.
Woww...im sooo drooling... I thought Kelantanese food usually too sweet(when we get them outside kelantan/my place here) but apparently not... I've never been to kelantan but now i wish to run for those original kelantan food... May i know this whereabout in kota bharu.?
Ellus, thank you terima kasih for making the effort to learn some bahasa malaysia and I think you should be commended👏👏👏. Btw Alicia the sign that says Nasi Berlauk means Rice with side dishes = nasi campur = nasi campur (mixed rice). Enjoyyy
How much weight you guys have gain in Malaysia so far? Hehehe.. i am just envy both of you. Watching this from oversea, when you guys enjoying my homeland, it’s just make me longing Malaysian food even more Try Laksam, Mee Celup, Mee Champa
Ellis, since you're in Kelantan, you've got to try Kuih Akok. It's made from eggs, coconut milk, brown sugar, flour and the most important ingredient, Pandan. The texture is almost like an egg tart but more chewy. It's sweet, creamy and has a coconuty smoky taste since it's cooked in a special mold over coal and coconut husk fire. Try it while it's still hot. You can find them almost anywhere in Kelantan. Good Luck!
Recommend: 1) Nasi Minyak (Oiled Rice) which is yellowish as it is cooked in ghee or butter. 2) Nasi Kunyit (Tumeric Rice) which is glutinous rice with tumeric, also yellowish but more sticky texture 3) Nasi Pulut/ Nasi Pulut Panggang (Glutinous Rice Grilled) is a heavy sticky rice snack/ tea time food grilled . It comes in both savoury (with fish bits) or sweet (coconut) versions
I haven't had Nasi Kerabu with mutton before, I love chicken so much that I feel it is a sin not to get chicken, maybe I'll get both the next time I buy Nasi Kerabu.
Since you like nasi kerabu so much, you may also try nasi kerabu with fish, the fish is fried in thin batter. (Usually sardines). One of my favourite 👍
If you still have time to travel , i recommend you to go to negeri sembilan . The negeri sembilan food is different from east malaysia. their food is spicy. and you will find hard to get sweet kind of food there.
Someone else said it too I think the purple drink is taro or some places its called sweet purple potato. We see it a lot in bubble tea shops. It's super delicious though I don't have icecream in it. Glad you like it! All the food looks so yummy.
it's been 3 kota bharu video and you havent go to any viral nasi kukus, nasi kerabu or nasi kak wok .. maybe the frozen chese cake already scared you, haha
That's Brown rice is nasi dagang in Kelantan, that'sKelantanese style made from brown glutinous rice ....they're different with Terengganu nasi dagang,,made from white glutinous rice
Indeed. Every stall in the same or different states have their own versions and can be pretty different. As for Nasi Dagang, the main thing is served with fish curry (often mackarel) and light Acar (pickled veg)
About Nasi Hujan Panas Hujan Panas is the kind of rain that sprinkles very lightly while the day is still hot. Why is the dish named Nasi Hujan Panas? I don't know, and I don't think anyone knows. What I do know is that when I was growing up, it's not that popular, almost impossible to find in Kelantan, because it's a dish of the Minang people the population of which concentrated mostly in Negeri Sembilan, south of Selangor, and north of Johore, and in some part of Melaka. Minang people are the same people that created Rendang, another very delicious meal. A must try. And try beef rendang. Chicken rendang and beef rendang tastes different. When I was growing up in the 80s, it's hard to find even in Johore (at least we have Minang people in small numbers here and there back then, compared to Kelantan).
The moment you unwrapped your nasi kerabu, i can see from your face like 'already in a heavenly state of satisfaction.. ' 😁😁😁. Be careful though, you might end up with a fat belly... 😊😆
Since they eat all they can and spend expensive money to please their tummy...its only reasonable that they chose the cheapest way to exercise to shred those fat...by walking a lot of course! Haha
Hey guys JT here. So I see you eat with the right, left hand under table... I understand the custom and why. Question though, since you said they do have cutlery if you wanted it. When you are done eating, what's the story for hand clean up? These markets don't have washrooms dedicated for it do they? How do you clean up?
Yeah you can get cutlery no problem not all locals use hands. Everywhere that serves food always has a few sinks and soap so it's clean just something were not used to in the west
@@EllisWR I see... yes, that would be a bit to get used to. I'm not a fan of eating chicken wings, so mashing up balls of food may not be my thing! BUT the food looks amazing. We may do Asia after a year in the Balkans. Need to keep it lower cost.
@@bukan-nama-sebenar_jfynZa4k6 cili hijau thailand, belah buang biji tengah die.. Isi dgn isi ikan.. Pastu rebus dengan santan.. Kalau isi ikan segar, sedap la.. Kalau isi ikan x segar, x sedap la.. Ada jugak solok yg dibalut dengan daun ubi kayu, daun kadok pun ada.. Try la cari kat kedai makanan klate.. Gudlak ek! 🥰
@@bukan-nama-sebenar_jfynZa4k6 memang sedap kalau org tu pandai buat.. W/pun isi ikan tp xde bau hanyir sbb die tumbuk dgn lada hitam n bwg merah.. Setengah org mkn ngn cili tu skali.. Setgh org die mkn isi je.. Lada hijau tu lada ijau thailand, die nipis sikit...
Kelantan dishes use sugar quite a bit... and some stalls used them more than others which turned me off quite frankly. Slight sweetness is ok for me... but hey.. that's Kelantan for you.
