Epic Message on Slander & Judgement 

There is in the Pentecostal movement a view that is SORT OF justified in scripture that Speaking in Tongues is the evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit... and thus, they conclude, if you don't DO that , then you aren't saved... (I've been there done that... ) but the key here is "to what are you meriting salvation to" - WORKS. If you "do this", then you will be saved. Salvation is a much larger and simpler transaction for us. Simply put, "follow Jesus", don't follow man, nor man's teachings. The Bible says that the Holy Spirit will GUIDE YOU INTO ALL TRUTH. Trust in that. Seek God, and allow Him to guide you not, me, not anyone else. God and God alone. The mere fact that you are asking this question indicates doubt in theses "works"... let that be an indicator. We are to have confidence in Christ. Do you have confidence in Baptism? do you have confidence in tounges? do you have confidence in deliverance? These are all EXPERIENCES and its important to understand the value in experiencing Christ, EXPERIENCE DOES NOT TRUMP SCRIPTURE. CHALLENGE/test all things and hold fast to that which is good. If you do not speak In tounges that does not mean you are unsaved it's only one of the gifts of being baptised by the Holy spirit.

Speaking in tongues is praying in the spirit. Go into a closet or room by yourself and just speak from the spirit. When praying in your own words, you are using your head and thinking of what to say. You can pretty much speak how ever you want, even start by saying oogie boogie. Ask God to help you speak in tongues. You will feel great afterwords. God Bless you in Jesus' Name.

@Providence OPC-Bradenton We shall speak in new tongues. Jesus said this. Any Born Again believer can pray in tongues since it is the Holy Spirit praying. It has nothing to do with known languages. It is not for church, it is to be done in private prayer with God.

If you have time, or if you understand the ministry of apologia, that's exactly what they are doing, wanting people to. Be shaped by truth. If your truly convinced about truth, go and study this topic, seek the lord, look into the claims made here and search the Bible. A true sign of a Christ following ministry is one that Always points to God's word and knows that they have derived their views from it.
