the pistons wouldn’t stand a chance. The pistons were an interior defensive powerhouse, that lakers dub they got that everyone talks abt isn’t as surprising when you consider that lakers team was offensively dominant within the interior. The pistons weren’t designed to heavily defend the perimeter which the warriors specialized in offensively. That along with the fact that the pistons don’t have any offensive juggernauts (ie KD Curry) they literally wouldn’t stand a chance. 70 points a game won’t cut it when the other team is putting 120+ on you.

You were wrong, but given your definition of generational talent, I understand why you say that. Steph is the definition of a generational talent. He may not be a generational ATHLETE (eg. Shaq, LeBron, etc.) but as a talent? He definitely is generational. I’d even go as far as to argue Kyrie is a generational talent as well. There are lots of generational talents, but there are only seven, maybe eight, "game changers" in NBA history. If you can learn how to do something, it can also be taught. Some things Bill Russell, Wilt, Magic, Jordan, Kyrie, Steph, & A.I. can't be taught. Those guys can't really be copied. Jokic isn't a game changer. He's a highly skilled at all of the things a basketball player should be able to do, outside of being athletic.

@1804Mak
@1804Mak 3 месяца назад
I would say that’s more of having an impact on the game is what you’re describing. Steph changed the game w the 3-pt shooting but one could argue that there’s others like him. Generational is purely “once in a generation” “like no other” “one of a kind” type of talent that can’t be duplicated. There won’t be another MJ, Bron, Shaq, Wemby (?) etc. but there will be more Stephs tho.

That title was because Kobe and shaq was beefing 🤣🤣🤣 yah be sounding dumb asl thinking that if Kobe and shaq wasn’t beefing they wasn’t going to win that finals multiple ppl that played for that team mentioned how tense it was with Kobe and shaq that year if nothing would of happened they win that series 4-0

Why did draymond pick the team with Kd and he didn’t even like Kd roll with who u been rolling with I think pistons only because Rasheed would dominate draymond Kd would be the only reason why they would win tbh with warriors defense and the era we playing in Detroit would have more than 70 that game at least anyway

We’ve already seen Curry’s play style. Jimmer Fredette was a deep range volume shooter before Curry was. Damian Lillard is the same exact player, and him and Curry came up at the same time basically. Then we saw a kid named Trae Young get drafted. 15 years from now there’s going to be 5 Steph Curry’s in the league because there’s no shortage of regular sized guards in this world. Curry inspired a generation of young kids who are going to get that same early start that he himself had.

You don't watch enough basketball. Steph isn't like anyone. How many seasons does dame or trae have shooting over 40% from three? How many seasons with over 250 threes? Dame and trae don't even run around screens off ball and catch and shoot. Stop yapping

It’s just funny to me that neither are good in the wnba though I see what u saying but to me they paying their money for nothing just last game Caitlyn Clark had 3 points and team got beat by dam near 40 points and angel Reese had 9 so I don’t see what ppl see they been shooting and all I’ve seen Clark do was go to the ncaa finals twice and lose her team is 2-9 and she only had one good game this season angel really been quiet but Clark complain everyday her and her bf I don’t see what’s the hype if we not talking about the women that’s already been doing some it’s the way she came in the league is full of women they going to hold that grudge till they retire I don’t see her having too many 30 point games because the amount of attention they going to guard her up full guard throughout the whole game

Nawl Gil just because people don’t see a player being generational at first don’t mean that they’re not a generational player. Steph showed he can be generational in college, we just didn’t play basketball like that so we couldn’t identify or accept it. You can’t use Lebron height and weight to go against Lebron being generational either. Players built like Lebron before Lebron came in use to be 1 or 2 dimensional. We all knew Lebron was going to be great and he live up to it, similar to your Mike Tyson comparison. You can’t call a player generational that didn’t live up to it. Just because they could’ve been generational don’t make them generational. You’re contradicting yourself a lot. You said it’s not about physical attributes, but you said if we look in a room of athletes we’ll pick the physical looking one but you also said Lebron isn’t generational. You’re everywhere.

@nathaniellebuckley18
@nathaniellebuckley18 3 месяца назад
Okay so even when you’re giving examples of athletes that are considered generational, your criteria isn’t primarily physical. The biggest criteria has been performance. You know why Serena was considered a prodigy? Bc her skill matched that of players much older at a young age. Mike Tyson was a small HW but his skill and power matched those of bigger players. Tiger woods, his SKILL matched that of older players. You get the trend? Skill is what made them transcendent. But when you talk about basketball, your criteria becomes physical. What you’re trying to say is that the players with extreme hype when they are young who happens to pan out are generational. I disagree with that. By your criteria, Emoni Bates is generational. So is MPJ. These guys were dubbed the next Kevin Durant’s in high school. Fact of the matter is, most times you don’t know who will be generational until they prove it.
