raptor r’s only far as ford goes. the last gen reg raptor is an all around disgrace vs the raptor R. least imo it is along with generally what ive seen. amazing suspension work, but an absolutely dog engine on the base raptor & they knew what they were doing to make the r a major selling point.
@@HierarchyOfWeedsabsolutely not. The purpose was never strait line performance, and for having a v6 it was insane. Its only downside was the cam phasers and literally nothing else.
@@HierarchyOfWeedsyou're dead on wrong. The engine in the regular Raptor is great and put most V8's to shame. It's purely the sound that makes you say that.
Let me guess, the people on here that don’t think the regular Raptor is weak have never owned one. 😂 I have a gen 2 and if you’ve ever driven one as it’s intended your opinion would be different. You guys are a joke!
Not a truck guy until you get into one of these things. I used to always be a sport car guy until I needed a truck to haul horses. Then you start modding them and taking them off-road. It's a different kind of satisfaction for sure. Plus now you can mod/buy trucks to be just as fast as a lot of sports cars these days.
ONLY for the R. Super pricey and super high powered. Fantastic. But for "normal" Raptor prices and maybe 500 horse...they don't do that. Seems like they should.
@@Michael-ii9fs Yeah growing up with the raptor when it first came out i was always thinking the 6.2L v8 is nice my friend had one in highschool we drove around in all black, they should have never got rid of it that was a big mistake for the company. The v6 isn’t much more better on gas and lacks the power you need for towing heavier equipment even the 5.0L would be nice something cool not the 4cly one either it’s not much fuel savings or smiles per gallon v8 is so manly🦾
These Raptor R’s are quicker than I expected. Raced one in my TRX on the road, got him, but it was close. Now that they juiced up the Raptor R to 720 HP, it should be a fun race! Hope I see one of the updated ones on the roads soon 😎

My neighbor got the regular Raptor but installed 3D printed red R on the grill and everyone doesn’t know much about the R version thinks he got the R version 😂
I have a Ford Explorer and Seriously considering trading it in for the Raptor R with some money down. My dream car used to be a Range Rover but since I’ve been researching the Raptor I think this might be my new dream car (SUV)

Great truck. Same sounds as my Bronco minus the throaty V8 sound, dunno if V8 but sounds like my old Mustang GT I had, I really miss the throaty loud noise of a Mustang. Love the Bronco more though.
@@burgerbandit3646 the MSRP of a brand new 2014 Raptor SVT was 44,995 15-16 were pretty close as well. You telling me the quality from then to now is worth 80k let alone over 100k for the Raptor R. To each his own but I can’t see it. price Gouging just like everything else rn definitely not worth it tho in my opinion
Sounds great-however, that 10 speed transmission is indecisive and feels like it’s hunting for gears (a lot). With that said, it’s still one of my dream trucks. Maybe the good Lord will give me the strength to keep grinding and I’ll have both a TRX and a Raptor R in my garage. 🤞🏿
con lo unico que lo puedo comparar es cuando enciende el sistema tiene el mismo sonido que mi Pc cuando enciende, eso sera lo mas cercano en años hasta que pueda conseguir una o me la presten xd
