Deep in the Sian Ka’an nature reserve, there’s a seriously remote village called Punta Allen, where a team from the local sustainable lobster fishing cooperative brings Rick and Chef Juan Pablo Loza out for an afternoon at sea. The day’s catch? A Caribbean lobster, simply prepared in coconut soup. Back at the ultra-luxe Rosewood Mayakoba resort, Juan Pablo showcases the tranquil resort gardens before preparing a feast of grilled lobster zarandeado with adobo mayo and sweet corn puree in the kitchen of La Ceiba, an outdoor garden party area. Inspired by the tropical abundance, Rick heads to his backyard garden with master gardener Bill Shores before making greens with grilled honey-lime dressing and sweet-and-spicy chipotle-honey glazed shrimp dish.

I’m from Maine, the land of Lobster and corn, and not at all offended that Rick said this blew our version away. Looks like it would. Might have to make something like that coconut soup.

As a complement to cooking, I love gardening because of the seasonality/change it inspires, the ability to grow things that stores do not carry, convenience, and probably least of all but still important, saving money. The list of pros probably exceeds RU-vid's comment character limit.

These episodes are every bit as good as the best on Food Network. Bravo.

As always, amazing spotlights on Mexican cuizine. Love your show and I have been watching your shows since I was in High School. Not going to tell you how old I am now but love your shows. Also, when I was in Chicago a few years ago, I visited Fontera and was able to meet one of my idles, Nancy Silverton, owner of La Brea bakery. Amazing place for sure!!

Awesome awesome episode. My family and I used to live down the block from Mr. Bayless in Wicker Park and loved watching his shows and visiting his restaurants. We moved to Tennessee about four years ago and reminisce about our great times and memories we made on the north side of town . Thanks so much for all the episodes of Mexico one plate at a time!!
