I have been binge watching these before bed every night for three days. My husband asked me why I was watching such silent videos and so I showed him...now we are both watching on different phones hahahah
@@sh0t0kan Well duh, in a normal restaurant of course. But the customers are right there, and they are the only ones he's cooking for. Looks fucking funny to have that extra step with the waiter
Mrs. Bacons is always at ease in any situation...here she is sweet and elegant...she is equally at home in some night market in Indonesia eating god knows what on a stick grilled at a vendors cart. I think she's lovely
Thank you for the captions on your videos. So many food videos do not have them and it is a big blind spot when it comes to enjoying them and knowing what is being made and how it tastes.
Fun trivia as a former teppanyaki chef for 30 years... we make sure the body parts of the same prawn are served together, as is ancient Japanese custom. One prawn's body isn't matched with another prawns legs for example, which would be hideous. It takes incredible mental focus.
I lived my whole life on a farm, so I have a very limited palate...meat and potatoes gal. But, I LOVE watching these videos. It's fair to say that Japanese cooking wastes NOTHING. The price for this fine meal was more than reasonable, that was an abundance of food! What an incredible experience this was...thank you so much for sharing it with me!
You had a better life than most people then. Living in the city nowadays is a pain in the behind. But still use your time and travel to asia is cheaper than ever
what else can you do to up the price? Best quality ingrediants top out at a certain point, this is the way to add more to it which customers can justify spending on
@@emadelsayid7106 They earn a big amount of money from RU-vid. So they must have a lot of money. I hope money didn't spoil them. Which isn't they seem to be rational person just enjoying their meals and sharing with worldwide
@@Patrick.Star.767 I enjoy there content too! I also just find the girl face expression a little bit annoying and corny. I’m not sure why lmao, I’m glad she’s happy with the meals it’s just idk- the way she smiles or the face movement made it always corny to look at? Idk how to explain it. I mainly dislike watching videos with the girlfriend just because of the facial expression just because every five seconds they get a meal we look at the girls face each time, it’s always the same face expression so it gets annoying after awhile
That cook has earned his title for Executive chef, and I appreciate how he warned Mr Bacons about the fire so he could pull the camera back and not get damaged. 100% would go there if I was able to; I have a small stomach so the portions and overall meals are the perfect size for me.
The way they make the fried rice makes me so hungry it’s just so nice to hear that crackle and the rice I don’t know how to explain it but it just makes rice look tastier then it is
Fried rice made by someone who really knows what they're doing, is INCREDIBLE! I still reminisce to the fried rice I had at a similar place once... it was that chef who made it amazing, any other experiences weren't that grand.
Ok nobody else seems to care, but man the way max so effortlessly took off the heads and deveined those prawns was freakin sexy, god damn. I take at least twice as long just deveining them
Watching this I’m certain of three things: 1) this dude is insanely talented 2) this is an insane experience 3) that price is insane and wayyyyyy more than I’d ever pay
@@wge621 I wonder if it might be people in more affordable locales who are balking. This is obviously not cheap but it's also not like stupid expensive
I am absolutely impressed with the temp control on those prawns. That last little bit of crispy burnt edge to top off the fried rice, you can tell someone put a lot of thought in the recipe/designs of the dishes.
@@frankjb8084 for me I just got into quarantine after a flight to Hong Kong. I have to stay in my hotel room for 21 days without being able to go out or open my window 💀
I laughed when the plated the food right infront of you then handed it to the waitress just for her to sit it back infront of you. That seemed so "Japanese" to me.
It's just because when plating, he was plating to himself and thats how it was supposed to be seen (his pov, not the one you have from the camera at first)
I was going to comment the same. hahaha. I have been to plenty of tepanyaki restaurants but never experienced this. It was right in front of them, then they passed it off to the side and I thought wft? Where is it going??.... And it came right back!!! hahaha. Absolutely ludicrous! But I really liked it too, it was still "served". I have always loved Japanese culture, and often it makes no sense, but it also actually really does.
@@mattinthemountains it was actually in front of the chef, and backwards to the clients, thats why it went around, it’s not something japonese or from japonese culture to present dishes this way
It’s like an artist doing an oil painting. Beautiful. It’s seems expensive but you’re not just paying for the foot. You’re paying for the years this chef has put in making everything perfection. Plus the best ingredients.
@@aesh78 I have watched dozens of these teppanyaki videos. It is relaxing to watch the artist at work without annoying chatter. On the other hand, it would be nice to have either subtle narration or subtitles to explain what is actually being done.
This is just as much a choreographed "dance" as it is food preparation. You're paying for the theatrical show as well as the food. I would love to treat myself to a meal like this every so often.
So simple and modest, yet complex in the way they use the flavors together, but seperately at the same time. Very Skillful, id love to get 1st hand view/taste. A true art form.
I love the way you react to the food and put text that shows what you are thinking and not just show it being served. That makes your videos so much better than many of the fine dining videos where they don't react or comment on the food.
No lame jokes, no loud mouth chef, no throwing food in mouths and cheap palor tricks. Just a fine display of cooking skills and plating. The taste and experience must be divine.
I love that they bring out the lobster to meet you while it's still alive at the end. Like, "Hello, my name is Chad and I'll be your lobster tonight," and then they take it in the back and chop it up. But not until after you've properly met!
imagine how much tough it would be for animals which u eat. each bite of meat you eat had been brutially tortured and murdered before it come to ur plate. just think over it. make connection. go Vegan.
@@kyliem u would not become small. or is it ur ego.. just look at slaugter house videos. how brutially innocent animals are murdered.. u need to make humane and wise choice. the only option is veganism.. take care
As a Western, I'm blown away by how much they can use from those shrimps. Also, all of your money went into that steak. I hear that stuff is basically gold.
I wanna say a good 40-50% of the cost was the steak. The way wagyu beef is grown makes for a premium price, especially if it is imported from Japan. The rest of the seafood is also moderately pricey, but the real cost is from the cook/ performer. The amount of training those guys go through is pretty insane.
A5 Wagyu from Japan is the best. Everyone should try that before they die! It was interesting to see what they did with the prawns though. Makes me wanna try that too! I keep A5 Wagyu from Japan in my freezer all the time so I can always have it when I have that craving!
1. appreciate chef's talent 2. the girl is happy to eat 3. presentation is everything 4. the girl is happy to eat 5. it's so overpriced 6. and the girl is happy to eat
best comment on this secion :D she looks like its her first time EATING ever , overly excited in an unrealistic way, and the food is FAR not worth it , lol
The prawn eyeballs are the best. I was sad when I saw you in a restaurant and the chef chopped the head off the prawn and discarded it. This guy did cook them marvelously!
@@cupcake_whale Different strokes for different folks. Many are glad this option is available to them. They work hard and are rewarded well and then enjoy proving they are worth the dining experience. I get it. Now retired, it's not even a consideration for me any longer but I am glad others do it. I am really glad this episode was shared with us
@@cupcake_whale Fine dining to me is getting the chance to experience what the pinnacle of flavor is. Basically you're eating something, someone has trained for years and source what they think the best ingredients are and transforming it into something delicious. Tasting menus are generally small multi course meals. That being said, you aren't going to feel stuffed like you would at a cheaper diner, but you definitely aren't leaving hungry. Gluttony sometimes isn't the answer. This isn't to say that everyday foods aren't delicious. A good burger is something to die for.
I have never seen teppanyaki done in such a professional manner, the skill at which the chef cooked everything was top notch, so much so that it would make someone like Gordon Ramsay blush. The way he seared the steak was impressive, just next level skill all around.
I’ve seen several other videos you’ve done with fine dining and teppanyaki that I personally didn’t think was worth the price, but this one was fantastic!!! IMO - Just watching him butterfly, devein, prepare and present the prawns and scallops was impressive enough for this experience to be worth the price!!! I was a short order cook when I was younger, worked my way up to full menu cook and then went to culinary school in my late 20’s ... this chef is impressive! If I ever get to visit this is definitely going on my bucket list. 😊🥰✌🏻
Thank you soooo much Dancing Bacon 🥓 for making this video a little longer than they have been recently and as usual NOW I'm hungry 😃 you really have no idea how much you're videos really REALLY do help me 😊😊 they are so relaxing and interesting and for someone like me that has issues having an appetite and eating sometimes and have to force myself to eat. NOW that I have found y'all I go to your channel and watch a few of your video's (honestly I have sat and watched all but I think 2 of your video's now 😂) and it really does help!!! And you help me try new foods that I would have probably never known about if I had not seen it here!! Absolutely love y'all!!! 💙❤️🥰🥰🥰
I love that you show the reaction eating the food, it's equally important as the cooking imo. What an amazing video thank you for sharing the experience!
I'm a good cook and love grilling and cooking seafood and steak. I'd like to think that if I were twice as good as I am then I'd be half as good as this chef. His precision and masterful control of every element of that meal is top notch! WOW
Everything is so smooth and precise, and you realize he’s been thinking a few steps ahead while beautifully cooking. The way he saves 1 garlic shoot for each person to garnish the scallop, after having plated the other garlic shoots. Also I’ve never seen someone devein a shrimp so beautifully haha
Been watching you two for a while now and I have so many places to visit when I can start traveling. Glad to feel like I've been on this amazing journey with you both.
there is a few videos out there about Teppanyaki Res, but for some reasons, the way you smile, nodded and enjoy the food with such happiness really make the videos 10 times better. Thank you for sharing with us the content and always be authentic. Food win the mood, but authenticity win the audience.
