What's interesting is that the black community was given this exact choice right before the beginnings of the Civil Rights movement. They were given the choice to follow Booker T Washington (who represents the Personal Success Filter) and W.E.B. DuBois who is basically the grandfather of the "Poverty Pimps" and the racial grievance/victimology industry. They chose DuBois. You should find a good documentary on Booker T Washington, or read his autobiography "Up From Slavery" ... assuming you haven't already (which I wouldn't be surprised since much of this presentation is basically channeling Booker T). I don't care what race you are, he's one of the most inspiring people in history.
Your analysis is one of the dumbest things I've ever read regarding W.E.B. Dubois, Booker T. Washington and the African American condition during this time period. Booker T. Washington was an idiot who argued in favor of the continued disfranchisement of African Americans, the legal creation of a distinct status of civil inferiority for African Americans, in addition to the steady withdrawal of aid from institutions for higher training of African Americans. African Americans were kept in a subordinate position during this time period infamously known as Jim Crow. At the economic level, African Americans were restricted to menial jobs by the joint effort of planters, corporations, and unions. As 87 percent of African Americans worked as either agricultural workers, domestics or in personal service. In the South, they were mostly tenant farmers which was accomplished through vagrancy and apprenticeship laws, restrictions on the rights of African Americans to buy land and work in certain occupations, debt imprisonment, and the convict leasing system. In the North, the exclusionary practices of managers and unions kept African Americans in unskilled occupations with very little chance for occupational mobility. As tenant workers, African Americans were reduced to the status of a serf and cheated by white landlords in a variety of ways. W.E.B. Du Bois was the primary founder of modern sociology in America, as Du Bois was the first scholar to use the scientific method. The same scientific method many of you *don't use* when applying your racist context to an FBI data table in relation to African Americans and crime. *As your hypothesis is an opinion that means nothing due to your hypothesis not being tested.* But Du Bois used the scientific method in order to articulate the agency of the oppressed. With established truth as a standard, elevating sociology to an “emancipatory social science.” *"African Americans didn't choose the correct leader before the start of the civil rights movement."* First and foremost, this statement hinders on the racist ideology of abstract liberalism. Which promotes individualism and individual freedom of choice. With ideas associated with equal opportunity, meaning individuals regard other individuals as if they have the same choices as they do. This was never the case for African Americans during this time period and most certainly isn't the case for African Americans presently. That pesky scientific method will always prove ideologies and theories surrounding abstract liberalism, meritocracy and individualism to be false. Whites use abstract liberalism to exonerate themselves from processes that reproduce racism. As those at the bottom of the racial barrel tend to hold oppositional views, and those who receive the manifold wages of whiteness tend to hold views *in support of the racial status quo.* This would explain your support for Booker T. Washington. As Washington argued in favor of African Americans remaining untouchables in the oppressive and violent racial caste system affectionately called America. *Your praise for Booker T. Washington* The adulation you have for Washington stems from cultural racism. Which uses racist stereotypes, while blaming the culture of that group, in this case African Americans as to why they're in the position there in. Stereotypes of African Americans being lazy and intellectually inferior due to not understanding Euclidean geometry despite being banned from reading for centuries. Push the narrative of If Washington did it "why can't they." This framework of thinking is racist and shouldn't be utilized, *as a problem of averages will never explain the exception.* . *"W.E.B. Du Bois engaged in victimology"* Victimology: the study of the victims of crime and the psychological effects on them of their experience. W.E.B. Du Bois created, engaged in and studied sociology. But you're saying African Americans were victims of crime during this time period. If they were victims, then who was perpetrating the crimes of perpetual racist terrosim and oppression lol. Getting white people to acknowledge or admit this is impossible lol. *"Du Bois was a poverty pimp"* Poverty Pimp: a derogatory label for an individual or group which, to its own benefit, acts as an intermediary on behalf of the poor. Profiting unduly from the misfortune of others, and therefore do not really wish the societal problems that they appear to work on to be eliminated permanently, as it is not in their own interest for this to happen. How did Du Bois profit from the misfortune of the African American community. Do you have any data or credible evidence proving that he did. Do you have any proof that Du Bois didn't want the societal problems he worked on to be eliminated permanently. His books, studies and political action would say otherwise lol. Du Bois was never a "poverty pimp." As an analysis of his body of work will show otherwise. From conducting numerous studies on the African American community. Which documented they abysmal condition of the African American community. To authoring countless books which laid out a plan of action for attaining economic mobility, freedom and civil rights. In addition to putting an end to the racist terrorism and violence prevalent at the time.
I'm back. I stopped watching Scott Adams when he said "don't be a dick" as it related to pulling down statues. I think over time, he has come to realize what we all knew -- it's not about statues. It's about destroying civilization and rewriting history
Germany still pay reparations today, we had nothing to do with ww2 but we still pay and I bet my 20 year old grand kids will still be paying when there 75.
I just came here to say "Scott Adams was right.". There are many who have awoken to the insanity that is going on. We silently thank you for your bravery to say the harsh truth. But we dare not speak it aloud least we are cancelled as well.
Very well said Scott. Saddling a young person with this Victimhood mentality must certainly be the largest, societal inflicted ,life handicaps that young man or woman could possibly be so unfortunate to have succumbed to the Race Industrial Complex machine today. What a damn crime……
They're everywhere, I was at a bar last weekend and pretty much every none white girl I spoke to was saying the whole patriarchy/I'm a racial victim stuff, thing is I can't stand them tho, no sympathy only hatred for people like that who live in a first world country claiming they're a victim cause they're black or brown, this is in Manchester UK aswell, in America it must be 10x worse
Scott Adams, you old mind-boggler, you buzzed by an intriguing question that just might have a surprising answer: Are black Americans, who are alive today, better off than they would have been if their ancestors had not been enslaved by other tribes in Africa and then transported to America?
Thank you again Scott for what did you and said it truly was a blessing and something that needed to be said .. I’m sorry about those newspapers letting you go but you had every right to use your freedom of speech and in the end you will win please don’t give up Thank you
could slavery be considered a plus for slave descendants in the USA? They are much better off than African blacks. I know of none that are clamoring to move to Africa. Also to be considered is the fate of those Africans that were captured by other Africans and were not sold into slavery. If the slave ship was full those African captives leftover were usually eaten by their African capturers. What else would they do with them? Put them to work on their plantations? Not hardly, as these were simple hunter-gatherers and had no plow, no domesticated animals, and therefore no agriculture. Their buildings were mud and stick huts, hardly suited to confine slaves with. And dirt floor huts require little or no cleaning. Cannibalism was and sadly still is practiced in sub-Saharan Africa, especially west Africa, which provided practically all the slaves to the new world. Still, it cannot be denied that slavery was a curse on the new world, especially the USA, and that curse continues to the present and indeed into the future. Sad, but true. The only way to right this wrong would be to repatriate all the descendants of slave back to Africa, with very generous help to resettle. Expensive, but worth every single penny.
Very sharp. Prager U gives insights like this but this was a bit sharper & insightful. Salute. Btw, i agree with your assessment on modern woke people of my community who love racism because its profitable for power hungry leftist powers.

The problem with race is the activists on both sides, there is no incentive to resolve these issues if there are activists who fixate their entire identity and place on society based on these issues existing, the original leech brands.
That is what we needed to be taught in school and at work because we can already see the awful harm thinking all the time about race and gender have already caused us. i miss the days when it was about character and achievements and when it was illegal to not

How about those people who were screwed over by the Civil Rights amendment to EOE law the Republican Politicians made ? S1745. This made is so an unqualified individual was hired instead of me, b/c she was black. This position was for a State Registered Journyman Carpenter. She couldn't tell you the difference between drywall and plywood. It cost me a career , the whole reason I became a State Registered Journyman Carpenter ( you HAD To be one just to apply, until that 91 Civil Rights Act that is) The Gooberment does owe me. Then? In 2002 , I was rear ended at a red light by an Illegal Alien on my way from the shop back to the jobsite , it caused 3 disc herniations and a fractured vertebrae . I lasted 6 more years as a Journyman Carpenter and couldn't barely walk. Thanks US Gooberment . You owe me.
@@dtcdtc8328 Those would be real slights and those should be battles fought with the people responsible but your behavior should never be so altered that it's spilling into all aspects of your life. People have terrible lives, average lives, and great lives but everyone has problems sooner or later.
Step gingerly into the dawn that awaits you, and when the moment is right, with adamantine moral and physical courage, do something to dispel the quotidian harshness that surrounds so many lives. When that something is accomplished, let the act become a ladder to other actions. All that we do for ourselves will die with us; all that we do for others will challenge mortality, and move into the realm of the stars.
Bottom line: Don't allow people to tell you that you're oppressed or are a victim. Instead, utilize the resources at your disposal. Approach every problem with optimism. The only obstacle that stands in your way is yourself and the world that tells you otherwise. March forward, not backwards.
I accept the optimism expressed by Leibniz over the pessimistic outlook of Schopenhauer. The river has no knowledge of its journey to the sea, just as a fraction has no knowledge of infinity. All we know for sure is that man is a grand construct, and yet a small fixture in the universe.
This seems to be a system for politicians. It's naive to think that there aren't strong cultural biases that are ingrained in national and sub-national groups that affect people's actions and views. It could be as simple as how you say hello, go to the bathroom, or unwillingness to work with police. These behaviors, perspectives, and customs may not predict everyone's action in a certain group, but will be much more probable in that group than other groups. Prejudices occur when people are brainwashed but also when people actually observe these behaviors more often in other groups. To not act intelligently and take that into consideration will cost you dearly.
Yes, let's pretend White replacement is not happening and will have no consequences and let those who seek to gain from it call us racist, ban our speech and lock us up if we complain. Oh, and make sure all our politicians never use the word "White" except when talking about "White supremacy". How people are still fooled by this guy is baffling given there are sites like Gab still, fortunately, where people are free to talk and show exactly what and by whom is being done to every White country.
Who is making money from paying for the Race Filter Narrative? The outcome from paying for the promotion of the Race Narrative Filter is division. Who wants division? Who benefits from division? Who is paying to promote division?
My ancestors were literally called "slaves" as their group identifier. I've had my fill of that. Time for me to be an "Owner" of my productivity and have success. The people who benefit from division can't get what they want when people are unified. They are not offering anything of value to trade.
Excellent presentation. Summarizes a lot of what is going on today in popular culture that focuses on race filtering. Scott is absolutely right that the suppression of those race filtering concepts is not the answer. But rather that it be taught so one can understand its points and, in the end, its shortcomings. The personal success filter concept is available to everyone, regardless of race. The starting point may not be the same for all individuals depending on economics, historical injustices, etc.---but yet can be overcome with proper perspective and support. The focus and endless meandering in the world of victimhood is fruitless for an individual's life. Juxtaposing the personal success filter and the race filter, as Scott has done here, is what should be done in our educational institutions so students can make informative decisions. Critical thinking and considering all viewpoints, instead of indoctrination, is what should be taught in our schools.
After all, honesty is an expression of the vicissitudes of life taken from the east and the west, from the low ground and the high ground. The untroubled canvas is dross. We need chiaroscuro. We need conflict of colors to produce an exposition of light.

This is so accurate and should be used to teach children! I know children that no matter what you say, if they don't like it, they respond with "that's racist".
I'm not sure I even know what "race" is. I know what ethnicity is, but not race. There is nothing in DNA or chromosomes that makes choices. Choices are made in the intellect. Will, is the execution of the intellect, which perseveres or quits.. The ancient Greek model put a man on a horse. The man was the intellect, the reins were the will, and the horse represented the passions. Without intellect controlling the reins, the horse will go wherever he pleases. Race plays no part in this assembly.
Racialized social systems emerged as part of monumental changes that occured in the world-system during the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. After race based structures emerge, definite socially existing races arise, which develop distinct objective interests. After the process of attaching meaning to *a people* is instituted. *Race now becomes a real category of group association and identity.* Furthermore, irrespective of the meaning and content of the races(society's racial formation). The social relationships between the races will become institutionalized, forming a structure as well as a culture, that affect their *social life whether individual members of the races want it or not.* The scientific consensus is that race is a social construct that is not an essential category. Although highly malleable and historically bounded. It remains a central principle of social organization.
@@adambrashear - You have detached race from the individual's genetic makeup, and reattached it to a social group. That's not race - call it something else.
@@bammbamm12 Genetic make up doesn't prove race is real. Geneticists who study race seriously focus on allele frequencies in human populations rather than alleles that are unique to populations. *Allele frequencies pertain to statistical facts about whole populations, rather than facts about the genetic makeup of individuals.* Geneticist use a computer program called *STRUCTURE* , which gives geneticist the ability to identify alleles that are relatively common in some groups of people and uncommon in others. Here’s how it works: Scientists input lots of genetic data into the program, and then instruct it to partition the data into a specified number of groups (specified by the researcher), based on genetic similarity. The computer then executes the instruction. It sorts people into groups based on how their alleles cluster. The computer is then fed genetic data that are sampled from all over the world and it’s instructed to partition the data *into five clusters,* the result corresponds to five geographical groups (Africa, Europe/Middle East/Central and South Asia,Oceania, and the Americas) that are associated with races. *There wrong,as the results don't vindicated our ordinary racial taxonomy* First, the correlation between races and genetic clusters is quite rough. The cluster including Europe, the Middle East, and South and Central Asia just doesn’t match up with any standard racial category, and the same is true of Oceania, which is home to a number of seemingly racially diverse groups. But people who support the concept of race being real due to your genetic make up. Will look at races-as-clusters and fend off this criticism by saying that this lack of a perfect fit simply gives us grounds for revising, rather than discarding, the conventional racial groupings Second, the data is arbitrary as the data is *divided into five clusters.* Due to the fact you could just tell the program to carve up the data into two clusters, or into twenty clusters, or two hundred clusters, or-if you had enough data-into two thousand clusters. *If each of these divisions counts as a racial division, then there isn’t any fixed number of races.* And if only the fivefold divisions count as races, then an explanation is needed as to why there is no such explanation.
@@bammbamm12 It's not in the genes, Genomics not to be confused with genetics from The Human Genome Project proved this. Race is entirely a social construct, as it has no basis in science. This is the scientific consensus.
The comments i would like to see would be seizing "too far" as a new battle cry or one of those sticky sayings for a quick, tart retort to something stupid. Skip the small stuff. Too Far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A correct scientific definition of racism. "When , within a species, genes from a gene pool are being invaded by genes from another gene pool then the invading genes can be called racist if the receiving gene pool is not in likewise amount contributing its genes to the gene pool of the invaders. As a result the success rate of the invading genes in the global gene pool of the species will rise at the expense of the success rate in the global gene pool of the genes in the gene pool which is being invaded."
SVB vs the banking system: Your comments were unclear as to whether you distinguish not only stupid and smart people, but also among smart people - smart people vs clever people. The clever ones, usually part of management, of the failed banks convince the regulators to save them and their banks (by conflating their own banks survival with the banking system). Of course depositors should be saved, but the management of those banks need to be held accountable, to lose their positions and the banks need to be liquidated, their assets sold off to other viable banks that didn't make those mistakes. This should have been done in 2008 - 9 of the top 10 banks failed and were bailed out by the government. The banking system would be stronger today if those top managers had been held accountable back then. And for sure SVB's failure is no danger to the overall system.
Mr adams had a definition for wokeness he agreed with but he said there is too much. So does that mean too much respect and too much learning? Or is he saying less respect for people and just stopping learning you learned enough? I like his definition and respect Mr adams I kind of think he is moderate like me why can’t we just stop being worried about being too respectful and keep an open mind a keep learning
See you are correct in your assumptions. However woke for conservatives and liberals have differing meanings. For conservatives woke means any right they don’t like. Forget woke exists, and just see that the concept itself is correct.
@@moongoddessjuno _"For conservatives woke means any right they don’t like."_ Incorrect. Woke refers to the mental issues that professional victim leftists display every single day.
@@ferrumignis Well, that’s just wrong considering every conservative has a different definition of what woke is, which is why I came to the conclusion that it is just someone saying something you don’t like. The term “woke” isn’t even for you anyways. It was invented by Marcus Garvey to be used as a compliment for black people. So nobody cares if you use it as a pejorative. If you are against being “woke” then that means that you’re okay with being “asleep” which is not surprising considering how the average cuckservative is an ignant who sleepwalks through life and doesn’t really know anything. Well, I would like Canadians to understand the threat they live under. But at the same time, I'm moving on from my lawsuit against the government, and working on my personal projects. You can't hold it against someone who has had their life destroyed, if they still feel fear and resentment. I would prefer to turn a bad situation into a good one, of course. It's a lot easier mind you, to destroy rather than create. And when you're trying to create something, like a positive outcome, there are often jealous people around who will destroy it. I live in Quebec, and that's the mentality here. I prove that I'm willing to work, that I'm apt to learn, that I'm even innovative, self-starting is a term you hear... and not only do I get refused for things like publicly funded employment services... I get falsely accused of a crime. And had police on me. So I can't turn to services that are against me. But again, I want success. In fact, I wish it for everyone. It doesn't matter so much what their race is, or even if they did something terrible to me as too many have. I figure, if you're happy, you're not trying to ruin my life. If you come to understand something important that leads to your success, then you've had an epiphany and maybe you realize the pain you caused. And I'd be okay with that. I'm looking for answers, how to be an illustrator, a programmer, a 3D model maker... something. That's my focus right now.
Question for Scott. In keeping with your philosophy of Personal Success Filter and its emphasis on the Individual, with which I agree, shouldn’t you have directed your "..to White people..get the hell away from Black people" statement toward those Black INDIVIDUALS who make up the roughly 50% (surveyed in Rasmussen Poll) that are not OK with White people? By not making that qualification, are you not yourself addressing Black people as a GROUP? Which is an attribute of the Race Filter you oppose? Perhaps your abbreviated short statement was made for emphasis, not sure, but it left a door open for misinterpretation and negative criticism.
By this video we can surmised that he does racism in a more "subtle" and "systemic" way in his head. He wrap it up nicely, but it still shows. This video literally said, if your race been wronged in the past, get over it and ignore it. Just focus on yourself and stop thinking of the past and the current systemic racism in the system.
ahhh slavery did work out for ancestors in many cases as with africa as a PRIME example and its INSANELY HIGH death rate....they would be surly dead or non-existent! tell me I am wrong? you know the deal, death by starving, tribal fights, disease, family killing you for food or resources!

Mr. Coleman, I disagree here. Reciprocity addresses this. If you give and respect others, it will come back to you and in turn make you successful. You will also learn from those you have respected as they will be drawn and inspired to share their knowledge with you. Networking has a similar effect. Successful networking requires a respectful attitude towards those you network with.
My problem with the recepocation argument is that we have givin so much already. We have given you entertainment, influence so much.
