Accidents increase every time the clock rests for DST. If going to normal time saves even one life, isn’t worth it?

We joke about not knowing which way to adjust the clocks. We end up being an hour early to Church once a year and an hour late once a year.

Sadly some parts of Europe have it too, which I think they call Summer Time.

It happened to me and while in the store to get a new router another person was in for the same thing. Something happened. It could have been a cyber attack that forced the providers to reset or patch the system rendering the routers inoperable. But they will never tell us. I was a system admin for years in a security position. Something sinister happened and will happen again. Be prepared.

Scott missed the key points. Trump transparently said it's also about the fact that Instagram - Zuckerberg would then control the market & that's disastrous. When Trump called for its ban as a president, it was about data storage in China. Which he solved by forcing Byte dance to store data in Texas. Vivek mentioned it. Also ask why Dems who defended Tik Tok in 2022 during those social media site hearing are now wanting it's ban. In those hearings it was mostly about addiction & harmful social trends like anorexia; both Insta & Tik Tok were asked that. In 2024 the issue is Instagram LETTING sexual harrassment of children. They literally overlooked it. And its Insta - Zuckerberg alone, not Tik Tok. If anything Insta is more harmful now. Banning Tik Tok would only profit the worst actor. And what about the monopoly laws! Not banning Tik Tok is the right move. I haven't changed my view ever. 1) Free Speech 2) For years since Trump presidency I wanted a blanket law like what the EU did to protect data privacy. It should cover everything from Tik Tok to Twitter to Insta.

Indeed. The reality is that most of he moral opposition to abortion comes from women. That men are forcing women to deliver babies is a Straw Man. Most women getting abortions do so because their "man" wants them to get rid of he baby for financial reasons.

I'm an Indian, It happened because Zuckerberg came to India & invested a lot. And also India doesn't have the market sovereignty. It's either China/ US; the latter is an ally, the former is a nuisance and it took place after the revelation of data theft by China. India is the biggest market for video consumption. So that's the leverage it had and played with Meta. Think of it as an exclusive deal which favored both parties. A deal which Byte dance didn't offer. That's besides the genuine data security concerns which India is not that equipped to handle as the best talents would be working on US server not India. The propaganda factor & market share factor also matters. India banned many Chinese apps not just Tik Tok. It banned the most famous game owned by Chinese Tencent. Hundreds of millions of users. US targeting Tik Tok alone as if other Chinese apps are fine is what the part that smells fishy. And the fact that Trump all ready passed a law that enforced Tik Tok to store data in Texas & not share with China.

@@robinrainmaker7232 thx, here's some more clarifications you won't hear from msm - Trump passed an executive order addressing the rational concern, he didn't do the blanket ban unlike now. He ensured the data is stored inside America. If they don't comply, he ordered the ban. And unlike now he didn't just do it for Tik Tok; he also did it for other Chinese app WeChat. Why he passed the executive order you ask, coz Congress wouldn't pass it. The courts blocked it. He appealed. Lost again. Then Biden came in & revoked the order, now Biden wants the ban, but only on Tik Tok. Trump passed the order after the fact it was revealed that Tik Tok collected data from minors under 13, they were fined and forced to create a specific mode for children. Recently it was revealed Meta - Instagram overlooked the algorithm flaws that pushed sexual materials to kids (including pics of genitals). But you don't see Biden/ House GOP wanting it's ban! Also the WeChat convo is important. It's the biggest app in the world. It's the big daddy of all apps. Even Musk is trying to replicate it's model, it's that good. But you don't see the politicians throwing a fit over it. It has less international users than Tik Tok but it's technologically superior. - Byte dance owns 40 apps. CapCut, a video editing app is widely used in US. But there's no call to ban that. Despite the exact complaint about Tik Tok is that its owned by Byte dance. - I just hope House GOP don't be their foolish selves & unanimously vote for the ban. Force the hand of Dems to see if they want the ban or not. There should be plenty of No votes & Not Voting Votes from GOP to reveal Dems' desires. - Here's an extra interesting but irrelevant info. Tik Tok was first only available in India. The Chinese version of app has an Indian clone, that was then later merged with another app (I can't recall the name) and went global.

The DEI might well evolve as a conspiracy against POCs. Think about it: a POC wants to get ahead. W/o DEI, he would have to learn to compete on equal terms with "Rural White Men" (RWMs). Comes DEI and they set aside their STEM studies and get their degrees in "Non Racist Basket Weaving" or some such. They get a do noting job in the DEI group of a big corporation. Five years down stream, the corporation dumps the DEI group. Of course his non STEM and non Business degree makes him unfit for anything other the DEI.

Perhaps I missed it, were the DEI requirements tied to some $$ benefit bestowed by the Feds? That’s what I assume.

However, the fact that it's owned by Red China justifies it being taken down. Red China is a much greater threat to the US than is Russia. Yet, RT (Russian Television) was knocked off all "on-the-air" channels. When it was on the air it provided another view of the world. If RT is gone from broadcast RV, TT can be shut off.

Aren't they supposed to serve their God and not their government? Everybody is a "slave" to someone else in some way. We all have to live in the time and place where we were born (we never chose to come into this world). If your parents moved, you moved with them. If your entire family dies, then you become a ward of the state until emancipation or you are adopted by a legal guardian until emancipation. Everyone has to chip in work (everyone has to produce goods or services) to be able to participate in society (barring charity and government handouts). The social contract and our social-animal instincts compel us into exchange with one another. I don't understand the "slave" you're throwing around. You cannot escape work whether you live by yourself or surrounded by others. Work is part of life and you get to choose where and what kinds of jobs to partake in (or entrepreneur) voluntarily. If it's not voluntarily, then you would have a point, but no one gets to live in this world without it generating some kind of work that someone has to fulfill (your parents and your community will give you a leg up until emancipation, then it is all up to you). Now, if you consider that the non-voluntary requirement of "needing a job" is slavery, then I have some other vicisitud of life to sell you
