When I put back together after polishing, I added just a dab of white lithium grease about the same size as one ball and it got even quieter!

do you think PTFE (teflon) slippery bearings would make it even smoother? they are about 4x more expensive then delrin and a softer plastic, but there is not much weight on this bearing anyways? Also are these chinese bearings really using 5/16" balls? Seems like they would use a metric ball like 8mm? maybe you just used 5/16 because 8mm was hard to find?

Does your bearing have a bearing race that separates the ball bearings from each other?

why wouldn't the steel bearings work more smoothly than delrin?

It's more a question of getting the bearing to run quietly, however my experience is that there's not a lot of difference in the sound between delrin and steel. I've yet to add the lithium grease per another comment. Thanks for the question 😊

@@r2dtoob664 did you add lithium grease yet and did it work? do I really have to buy the delrin balls to make it spin smoother, or can I just polish the ring and use the original steel balls and still get the smooth rolling action?
