Suffo was best with Hobbs and Doug Cerrito together playing. Amazing combo. Pierced and Despise the Sun my fave. Suspended in Tribulation has one of the best riffs.
These podcast are fucking amazing! Needs more recognition. Disgorge and Suffocation are my favorite bands and I'm thrilled you guys are bringing these in dept and personal interview to us. Thank you!
Congrats on 50 episodes and on the 1-Year Anniversary dudes! In all honesty, I had fallen out of love with death metal, though I would still jam the Unique Leader and 90’s classics. The only newer stuff I would consistently listen to is the newest Hate Eternal, Nile’s stuff, and Ulcerate. This podcast randomly popped up in my suggested videos because I realized that Deeds had put out a new record and I started fumbling through death metal videos. I became a subscriber and avid watcher with the Obie episode. It reignited my love for this kind of music and I even plugged in the electric guitar for the first time in over 7 years! As a teen and in my early 20’s I would sit and compose music all damn day. Work and dad life had me set it down but I’m happy to say I’ve been investing in a home studio set up and I have jammed/written enough material for a handful of songs I want to put together as a little solo project. Love the podcast and here’s to another 50 episodes and more!
Never heard of Suffocation in my intro to Death Metal. My younger brother called me around 2004-2005 or when ever "Souls to Deny" came out. I was hungover in Cali bein stationed over there for the Air Force and he was calling me from Florida. I answered the phone and he was swearing to me it was the next best thing to anything. I couldn't get into it yet, but have grown into Suffo since then. Especially seeing their commercial on the History channel for the Dark Ages series.
Sometimes the podcast goes rather short. The way you guys handled this one by extending it is most preferable in these situations. Keep my depressed Fridays going longer with this shit!
I was there in 2003 at Maryland Deathfest. That dude in the wheelchair that he was referring to was absolutely crazy. Also someone asked Terrence and he didn’t notice “who was the bassist at that show?” It was Josh Barohn.
All music is art man. The late 80s early 90s were just more special because the genre was new. Everything is more exciting when things are new. Why do you think everyone wants to relive their childhood/teen years. Everything was new and exciting.
