It really never disappoints

My brother no longer whatchu our videos because he doesn't get RH. He really likes music though. It'll come as a bit of a shock to him to find out that RH is the official soundtrack of the eternities!

I appreciate that, in spite of my rambling, people get it. I've considered worrying my thoughts presenting them in a more prepared way, but it's easier to ramble and edit

Yes. This is not the best way to discover RH. I just hate the idea of dying without having done my due diligence in teaching my kids what's important in life. I have to hope he goes through it all again in his own way

@@the15thfloor71 completely understood. my goal is to scare my kids just enough for them to appreciate radiohead but not hate me. there's a happy medium in there somewhere.

I always try to imagine what I felt the first time I heard each of these songs. Problem is, it's been so long and these songs are now etched into the fibers of me. I don't remember the version you mentioned. I always feel like I've heard most versions of their songs but then there is always more to discover. I'll have to check it out

They seem to like the host, Thom and Jonny did an interview with him on one show, in which Thom famously claimed he had a stylist for his Dickensian look 😄

It's a fair point. My kids are fully exposed to my taste in music. I can't concentrate on driving or cooking with other peoples music playing.

I guess this is something I'll have to address in an episode. The short answer is, we always had family music (Keane, grunge, 70s & 80s rock) we have listened to that my older kids have had a their background music to life.

Worrywort too deep?

We have tried to keep the videos to 15-20 minutes. So, early on we set out with a format that we think works. For some songs, the format charts then a little. Usually I link to versions I reference but forgot to do that here. But youtube has the early versions usually with "OK Computer version" in the title. Check them out... very good. @@the15thfloor71 I get it, just saying, one random person's vote, one random old fan just like you who happens to watch a ton of youtube and I just know if you'd listened to the original after this it would've probably been my fav video of the day by far. less talk-y, more radiohead-y? instead of just the one song per video 'rule.' like maybe when you do Reckoner just for fun you could play 30 secs of the original Reckoner just for a laugh and explain how they tricked us with that one etc. OR how about contrasting album versions with live versions? I just think that would tell a way better story, be way more informative, and way more entertaining for everyone as a whole. Cause the way it is now, for me, it's a wee bit boring, shrug.

This format will stand the test of time.

@@normanshoulda4749 hahahaha ok, the dad dominating 'chat' show, in the dining room, with the cam from the same exact angle, no posters, no art...this show comes off like a weird German art project from 1980. i can only hope w/no changes that sonny boy will eventually get a bit more loud and jokey to offset the constrained boredom.
