Episode 57: Everything In Its Right Place - Radiohead Reaction 

The Kendrick remix of this song has been all over my FYP. Gen Z seems to really be feeling Radiohead lately, but in their own way, which is cool too.

I too was in college when this came out and I was a huge fan of Radiohead. I unlike you brought the Kid A album home and was instantly blown away. I instantly knew I was hearing something that transcended reality. I was hearing greatness. I and my friends had our jaws dropped with how amazing it was. Unexplainable. So I and my friends are opposite of you where we all instantly fell in love with it and held it high above anything else. Then amnesiac ripped open the barriers of space time fabric. Saw them on the following tour at Red Rocks in Denver. Greatest performance I’ve ever seen by anyone. That era of Radiohead is the singularity

This song makes me think of a person suffering of OCD with whispers of schizophrenia. But they are functional and fighting back the brains urge to scramble itself.

I just love the melody and the feeling all the weird stuff in this song makes me feel.

I heard this song in college.. tough times, hard and depressing... but this song gave me a feeling like everything was going to be ok. It has such a depressing tone that for some reason, gives me hope. I love it. Thanks for showing your kid this song. I ll do the same with mine.

Welcome back. I thought there was a glitch in the matrix when I saw that you’d posted another video. Fair score for a first time listen. Having read Ed’s Diary online before the album came out, I thought I was prepared for the change, but I was completely miffed with this. I only started to appreciate it when I experienced it live for the first time.

This album was such a struggle to get through when it first came out. Compared to what had come before it was just so far apart. But after 23 years, this is now one of my favourite albums they have done. It was just so far ahead of its time. We all just had to catch up with Radiohead.

I’ve been looking forward to you guys posting again. Came here to request Lucky. Similar to your emotional connection to Lift, I have a similar relationship to Lucky. My brother and I were huge Britpop fans and being huge fans of the Bends were eagerly awaiting the release of OK Computer. When we found out they had contributed an original song to the Warchild UK charity album we managed to find an imported copy (we live in New Zealand) and went straight to Lucky. Needless to say we were in awe and pretty much played it not stop for a couple of days. My brother never saw the release of OK Computer (he would have bloody loved it) as he was killed in a car accident in Feb 97, but this song (along with a few Beatles & Oasis tracks played at his funeral) has remained such a special memory which words just don’t seem to be able to adequately express. By the way, I’ve been on RU-vid for years and this is literally the first time I’ve commented. Thanks for the passion towards your and my favourite band. Look forward to seeing more.

Hi guys! Hello from New Zealand :) Just found your channel. This is such a great concept! Don't know why you don't have more subscribers. Scott really knows his Radiohead. I am definitely learning stuff Lol! Everything in its Right Place really takes me back. I too remember putting Kid A into the CD player for the first time and hearing this track and being completely confused. I was really hoping for OK Computer 2.0 and it took me a long time to really this appreciate this album but now I love tracks like this and Motion Picture Soundtrack. The thing about Radiohead is how much their music stands the test of time and no matter how many times you listed to it you can find something new. When I think back to some of the music of their contemporaries that I also liked at the time, their music sounds quite dated in comparison. A track like this could be released now and still be groundbreaking. I can understand why Jakob rated this one so lowly but give it a few years and I'm convinced he will appreciate it!

Lol, i loved this song the first time ever heard it. I had been listening to the bends a whole lot at the time. Totally missed ok computer and immediately fell in love with this whole album.

Some people may find this "Looney" but I will share it anyway. A few years ago I had an extremely profound spiritual experience, like nothing I have ever experienced before in my entire 45 years of life, and while it was occurring and every time I think about the feeling of it this song is what plays in my head.

Not for anything that Kid A has been described as "the biggest left turn in rock music". Although I had mixed feelings when Kid A came out, it did hit number 1 in the US charts. That is saying a lot; OK Computer only hit 21 on the US charts. I have grown to really like the chord progression of EIIRP over time and now it is one of my favorite keyboard/piano parts to play.

As a long time huge Radiohead fan, the album version of everything in its right place never has really clicked with me. The live version is much better. The album version is a bit of a slog and it feels like Nigel took all the life out of it.
