Welcome! This is the first video is a series of small engine repairs I had to make. Four of my small engine tools died for various reasons so I decided to make videos of the repairs. This video deals with fuel line replacement for my trimmer. The original fuels lines were six years old so it was time for new ones.

Just did this repair! Thanks for the video! If you’re reading this, lube the holes and line (that’s what she said). It will make this project so much easier! Also, pins go on the hose inside the tank. Look at the original tubes when you take them out and it will make more sense. Or just leave them off and it will work the same.

I do read and reply to most comments. Thanks for the insight. I actually need to take the carb off this one and clean it this weekend. Idle circuit is plugged up.

I have a Husqvarna 128LD that needs fuel lines replaced and I also own a Mazda B3k!

Nice! I traded the truck for a 1964 F100, but I have a chance to get my B series back... with upgrades. I'll know more in September.

Thanks! As I state in my channel intro, I'm just a guy fixing things around the house as they break. I figured if I have to do the work, why don't I film it so others and can see how I fixed it?

Why not make it 1 long piece straight to carb and to filter?

Indeed, it was quite toasted. I was surprised it lasted as long as it did.

Thank you. My line didn't have that cut. Cut it and used fly fishing pliers and the back of a knife to get the line in, super tough squeeze.

Mine did exactly the same thing. A couple of years ago my Husqvarna chain saw also did this. I’ll fix the Husky, which only a few hours use, but I’ve already bought a new Stihl.

The plastic nipples go INSIDE the tank, not outside. Makes for an easier fuel filter replacement in the future. If you take the pull start and back plastic off, the tank pulls out with the carb and makes accessing those bends much easier.

Thanks for the information. That should help others who find this video and read the comments.

I don't want to try and take the tank off so I should buy a special pair of pliers to get those nipples in?
@MazdaB3K
@MazdaB3K 9 месяцев назад
Do you mean hose pliers or 90 degree pliers? They make life much easier.@@Tom-db7bx
@i8ntnuts
@i8ntnuts Год назад
Thanks for the video. To be honest, I wasn’t sure which one of the nipples go to the fuel filter, and which one is just a vent. Your video did a good job of explaining which ones which.

Trick or the trade if you put a landscaping flag in the fuel line you can push it all the way in

Idk if u knew but the plastic little piece was supposed to be a air return part tht goes on the inside so tht the air/gas goes in but doesn’t come back out and u wernt supposed to cut the gas line it was supposed to go straight to the tank if u wacth ur video from beginning it never had a cut there but I guess to late now 😅
@MazdaB3K
@MazdaB3K Год назад
Indeed. Trimmer runs fine since the repair though I need to clean out the carb. I forgot to empty the tank over the winter and I think it gunked up a bit.
@Swampkiller1Tv
@Swampkiller1Tv Год назад
@@MazdaB3K if u ever redo it jst run the line from filter straight threw too the carb and then run the line from the vent to the little plastic piece into the hole and it’ll jst vent abck into the tank pull gas out and return gas in but anyways good video
@Tom-db7bx
@Tom-db7bx 9 месяцев назад
So there is no need for a return hose in the tank? I don't think I saw one in mine to be honest.
@Tom-db7bx
@Tom-db7bx 9 месяцев назад
@@Swampkiller1Tv So there is no need for that little plastic nipple on the fuel filter side? I saw a lady mechanic do a video on this trimmer and replaced the fuel line and Im pretty sure she pushed it straight in without the nipple for the fuel filter side.
@Swampkiller1Tv
@Swampkiller1Tv 9 месяцев назад
@@Tom-db7bx I think it’s jst for holding the return line in place but I see them on a lot of weedeaters idk if it’s jst a connector or so u dnt have to have a line but I think u need both or not one at all but it must do soemthing

I'm happy to help. Many folks either pay way too much at the small engine shop to do this or give up and buy a new tool. With less than 20 dollars and some patience most of the time you can get this stuff running again.
@americafirst2785

I think the splicers ho on the inside of the tank.
@americafirst2785
@americafirst2785 Год назад
What is the purpose of that nipple, is it even necessary to go back in there? I think the fuel line is tight enough without the nipple.

I’d consider not using the nipples. The fuel line will seal just fine

I appreciate you trying but this was a slow ass video and it wasn’t a help, if you see this comment please know that he doesn’t know what he was doin and he was takin his time on it, find another video is what I’m sayin. Cause it’s a 30 minute video when it should’ve been a 15 minute job👍🏼 again I appreciate for tryin to help us but it was a long repair.
@MazdaB3K
@MazdaB3K Год назад
You are correct the actual repair goes much faster. I break down the extra steps because my videos and channel on the whole are geared to total novices that haven't really don't mechanical things before. Any time I turn the camera on the repair time generally doubles to triples. Thank you for having the distinction to note this. If I'm moving too slow for you, skip ahead until you find the part you need to make the repair succeed. I do also try to do stuff like this blind, versus doing the repair, breaking the repair then turning the camera on and doing the repair again. If I do something in advance I let you guys know in the video.
