Love this idea to do a bit of step by step in your process of page design and development. When a person is new to mixed media and creating JJ i think it really helps to see the steps and have you explain your process. Helps to inspire my creativity and give me courage to just go for it and see what happens without stressing out about how it will turn out. “Cup of courage”.....yep!! Every day!! How could you ever go without coffee??! My mind screams at the thought lol. I think your ruler has been missing for the last few videos...maybe it snuck some of your coffee ☕️🤔. Wish I knew a good source for the Edith book, there are “facsimile” copies but no idea of quality, otherwise the price is pretty hefty 🙁. Oh well. What month is your birthday? Hi Cindy, I've ordered 2 or 3 on E-Bay from worldofbooksusa for about $6 apiece and free shipping. Another good vendor is Thriftbooks on EB. I guess I just assumed you're in the U.S. so this may not be a good tip if you're not... ;-) Anyway, E-Bay is always a good place to check.

Hi Carys! Great question! You can use them for what ever you like! :) No rules when it comes to journal making :) They can be writing journals, scrapbooks, art journals, diaries, picture books, places to store mementos and treasures or simply coffee table explore type books and so much more! :)

I'm happy to see this series 😁. We all need a starting point, & backgrounds are an issue for me. Can I ask what kind of thread, string do you use to sew in your signatures? As a former quilter, I have tons of cotton thread, but not sure if that will tear the paper over time. Thanks

I have used waxed dental thread, embroidery thread, crochet thread if doubled and tripled, wax threads for book binding, jewelry cording, all sorts of things. If your signatures are in tight enough but not so tight things tear then you are golden. ;) It is movement ( translation of the papers that causes a sawing action ) that causes the tearing. Regular sewing thread is too thin. Think how the signatures in a regular book feel secure and do not move. This is what we strive for :) Hope this helps! :)

Hi, love your videos. I do have a problem though. I tried to sign up to get your "letter from the maker " but the sign on will not take either of my email address. So I started another email address just because I really love your stuff. Guess what? It told me that I was using the wrong password. Can you believe that. It is crazy 🤪. So I still didn't give up. Call me crazy. I thought I would change the password. Wrong..... I had to put in the previous password. I guess that they don't understand that I am trying to reset the password because the one I just picked wouldn't work. That's my crazy story. I am new to this channel, but not to junk journaling! Did you hear me applaud when you showed your table? I don't know how people work in a clean non cluttered space. People always ask me what you do with them, I just can't answer them, HELP!!

I couldn't tell what glue you were using because I couldn't understand you. I did a search for Beacon glues because Beacon was on the bottle and I found it! So glad I found it. Will definitely try it.

I am a uniform scrapper or crafter. I love all the collages and shabby thing that people do..But when it come to myself it don’t look right. You know the straight lines etc etc. I am a pain to myself. Ha ha ha. I love what you do and can see myself do the same type of thing. I am new to journal making. I did the mini albums but wanted something more challenging. I think I give this journal making a try. Thank you so much for the tutorial I truly loved this.

Love this episode! I'm not too far down the rabbit hole yet and fret about how long it takes to get a page or item done. Watching you, as always, is inspiring ~~ seeing you create beautiful pages in real time has helped me feel more comfortable about the amount of time I futz around on any given project. What on earth are those high pitched noises???? I had to mute you to watch your tutorial…you seem to be very gifted and positive and would love to become a subscriber…but cannot deal with the sounds….I will try a few of your other videos to see if they also have the high pitched sounds…thank you for sharing and bless your efforts!

I you put a piece of rubber Mesh shelf liner from the dollar tree under your inks you can dab and they won't move around

I have stacks and stacks of magazines that I have cut out of for journal pages and started journals some finished and some not finished journal pages along with stacks and stacks of cut-outs being that I craft in the middle of the night when the house is asleep and no interruptions.

I would of made the fabric overlay like a lace curtain...scallop the bottom edge and maybe under the safety pin put a leftover piece of Edith Holden under it as a curtain pull....
