New here, just a tip for the frugal lol 😆 I used a old liquid med shade foundation to destress on the side with a make up brush and then a dark drown powder eyeshadow for the darker edges with a smudge brush and it looks so good. Just in case u can't get ur hands on the actual destress stuff right away!! Im soooo glad I found this channel and these ideas. I have so much junk!!!!! Thank u!!!
Love the page and thanks for making me laugh this morning. Have you ever been a stand up comedian if not you should you would kill it. Keep doing videos.....Hugs
Leave it to you to consider your pet's "construction" and even give him his own corner to "work"! LOL You are such a positive lady! I am one of those 'cup-half-full' people, too! My granddaughter accidentally hit me in the back with a pillow the other day. She was all apologetic, but, I just told her, "Well, at least it wasn't a sledge hammer!" LOL There is so much negativity in this world! I refuse to let it get me down! Blessings! Su
I had to laugh at “vulgar”. Im finishing my very first journal for my Granddaughter and had made a wallet made from some book pages (saw it on one of your flip-throughs). It was a little booklet with pictures of Papa and Grandma. I thought I’d leave the text on back but remembered you (and others) always stress to make sure there isn’t anything bad or vulgar 😂 so I started reading the text to make sure. 😱😱😱😱😱😱 “thrusting” was the main topic and that’s all I’ll say...nearly dropped my teeth and they’re still attached! Well Grandma quickly altered the back and had a good laugh. 🤣. Love this series.
I really enjoy listening and seeing your thought process, come to life 💜 'Flocks of bluebirds!' 🤣 'Washy tape, bc we don't want any peel-y uppies!' Love the extra vocabulary knowledge, too Pam - love from Denmark 🌸💕
This morning as I watch yet another of your fabulously authentic and helpful videos, I suggest that you, "Pam of The Paper Outpost are to the world of Junk Journal making, what Bob Ross was to the world of oil painting. 🙏😄❤! I hope you will want to share tips and techniques about JJ making for many years to come. Bravo Professor!
You are so soothing. I have started feeling much better about all the bad things going on in my life since I have been watching your channel. I dyed paper all day and watched alot of your content. Thank you!
Hi Pam, I love seeing your (nearly always inky😂) fingers, fling and flail about as you explain and proclaim your most recent exploration into the paper arts! So happy to be a subbie!
Roadside Rock hound reminds me of my Dad...and my sisters...and me. Lol. We love rocks and my dad was so disappointed none of his kids studied geology.
Thank you so much Pam. Everyday I learn something new. And today was about working with white. I keep covering it all up with ink. Now I see how beautiful it. As always your amazing. Your friend Sharon Harper is 👍💗😉🤗
That's what I did Pam.....I just finished a page where I had to add "ONE more thing"! The purple...turquoise ... Gold and diamond stickles were so fun I got carried away....and I like it!!!!
Have I mentioned how much I love your videos? :D Omg, this was SOOOO fun! I just love watching you work. The parts where you tried something and then said 'Nah, don't like it.' and threw is aside... So familiar and made me laugh out loud!! Also, I really like hearing your birds have their 'twitter-fest' and all the stories about Holly. So awesome. Anyway... Thank you for the video and the tips, especially about that glue top. Very helpful. Take care, Pam. Your are awesome!
I go through so many emotions watching your videos lol. NO gesso after glueing down To Yep I'd make that mistake, pleased I'm not the only one To That's perfect ❤ Keeps me coming make 😊❤️👌. Love your work 👍❤️
PINSDOWN... Always put the pin. Whatever I do or go, I always have to go back because I forgot something. It's not Alzheimer it's age. Anyway, these episodes are fun. To start with a white page is a nightmare. Even if you have all the ingredients, something does'nt fit. But it will when you let go. It's a joy to see it come all together. Thanks. Sweet dreams Pamaroo. Hug xox :-)
very interesting! I am still figuring Junk Journaling out! I Bible journal, and love that time with GOD... And putting your parrot to work is so fun! I have 5, down from dozens many years ago when I raised babies for clients..But my Blue and Gold Macaw would be horrified if I gave him a new toy..he is 23 now and yells for Apples all the time..He used to talk quite a bit, but now that his roommate across the aviary died, he has been more quiet..Sparky my Amazon I raised with Teiko the macaw and she would sing songs, in opera style, and said 200 words and phrases..always a joy to be around. But she fell from her 5' top while playing with toys, and broke her neck last summer..thought I would die..raised them both from featherless chicks.I have had parrots longer in our home than the 5 boys we raised, who are all grown men now. So much enjoy hearing your bird noises. Greys have a different sound than macaws and Amazons..love my birds too..
Since this video is 4 years old I know you may not see this but just in case you do, I was wondering if the glue sticks you use work really well to keep the paper down long term? The ones I’ve used do not and I’m looking for something that really works.
I'm only on Episode Two of this series, but already it is so helpful. I have my signatures and cover made and I have put them together to make my junk journal. Now what? I have a whole journal of various papers, but they are "empty" at the moment. This series is helping to answer the question of what to do now....... Thank you !!!!
What a lovely page! I really appreciate all your tips. They’ve so much. 💗 How did you thicken your Gesso? Did you add more baby powder and glue or just one if those! Mine is way too thin.
I'm late to the party ! I love coming to visit you . I always get some giggles and some great inspiration. Holly and the love birds tickle me ,hearing them in the background. We had a blue front Amazon Parrot that had her own destruction zone. She talked and could sound like my son and I. She would get in her hiding spot and call the kitty. Upon kittys arrival she would pop out and pat the cats head and say Ha ha gottcha !! Lol !! Sure miss that silly girl !!! Anyway, love your video's Pam !!
Putting a little magnet on the glue so you don't loose the pin on your craft table, OMG what a genius idea!! I keep losing mine at the fricking time!! :D Your ecopaper was so beautiful, I cried a little when you cut it in half :D
In many communities it is illegal to put “sharps” of any kind in the garbage. Fines in some places are $500 or more for each sharp. There are many dangers to sanitation workers when needles and pins of any kind or discarded in regular trash. Pharmacies sell small sharks containers for very little money, and will accept them once they are full. These containers are great for safely disposing of pins, needles, blades, or anything sharp. It is a myth that using an old plastic medicine bottle is acceptable. The bottles become brittle or otherwise break, putting sanitation workers at risk of great harm.
Love watching your videos and love listening to your directions. I talk to my self as I go along also. I have found in my Junk Journaling there is no rhyme or measure in my journals. I just like doing them nothing professional looking for sure..
Periodically I take all of my stainless steel pins and the tops of my glue bottles and clean them in boiling water. The glue disappears and I'm ready to go again.
Wait, I know I'm like two years late to the party but I've been binge watching your channel and I saw your homemade paper episode, but idk that it covered how to make the type I see you using here?
Hi Sam Swift! Welcome to the family! I am so excited for you on your new journey into junk journals! It's a very friendly community! Come on down the rabbit hole with the rest of us and have some fun! :)Thanks for watching! :) Pam :) !!
Hey Pam, I'm 17 y.o and I found out your channel and I totally love it I have a question, can I substitute ink with paint? (Bookmarks project or card) because I cannot buy the ink☹
You mentioned always putting "just one more thing" to your pages and that's why your journals are so wonderfully overstuffed. LOL. When I very, very first heard about JJs somebody hate on RU-vid - I have no idea who it was - said when whatever you're working on - the page or snippet or pocket - has enough decorations add one more thing and THEN it has enough. I knew right there that JJing was for me. Thanks for sharing your brilliance. With love from the Southern California desert, MK ♥️🌞🌵
It’s midnight,can’t sleep,watching you unplug your glue thingy....making me laugh....you’re a hoot...all good....whew,glad the thingy is unplugged 😂😂😂❤️
I am laughing out loud! Just yesterday I pulled out the pin from my Art Glitter Glue and the round ball came off - turned a quick little task into a major project. So sorry it happened to you on camera, but glad I'm not the only one. Cheers!
This video helped me immensely! I have a journal full of blank pages and now I have some design tools and ideas for constructing some pretty pages! Looks like I’m off to my construction job along with Holly ;^). Thx Pam!!
I love the masking tape in these books. Especially if you run the ink over it. Do you remember the 70’s covering bottles with little ripped pieces of tape, then staining it!?
