‘Rommel's Crossing’ is the second episode of our new series - Hitler’s Invasion of the West. Alex and Lawrence were keen to discover more about the 5th and 7th Panzer Divisions crossings in May 1940 around Dinant. Local battlefield guide Olivier Voets showed the team in detail the tank-tracks of one of the best-known tank commanders of the Second World War, Erwin Rommel.
Teaming up with the various Tourism Boards and the EuroTunnel, the WW2 Nation Team hit the road again last October as we set out to explore some of the historical sites connected with Hitler’s Blitzkrieg campaign in the West during the Summer of 1940. In line with the anniversary of the offensive we will be releasing new episodes fortnightly over the course of this summer.
