Episodes 22-26 | DIGIMON ADVENTURE In Retrospect 

I always thought these episodes seemed off even in recent rewatches. Now it makes more sense XD

In the novel, it's implied Koushiro was in Vademon's dimension for months. I wonder what order the digidestined were targeted after Sora. I figured Sora, then Jyou, then Mimi. But given that transmission Taichi got from Koushiro, maybe Koushiro was targeted second (after Sora). And how long was Jyou in the restaurant before Yamato arrived? Also, did Koushiro, Jyou, and Mimi all leave on the same day? Or did Mimi leave the day after Koushiro and Jyou did? Also, exactly how long did everyone stick together before they started to leave? These are all questions I wish the writers had answered.

The Mushrooms were introduced back in episode 2

About the Vademon poop thing, I may have an explanation: in the so-called null canon, it is all but stated that Vademon is evolutionarily connected to plant Digimon; with a strong implication of Vegimon in particular. It's subtly shown in their designs; flip Vegimon upside-down, and its base becomes Vademon's brain while its arms become the legs. You can then make the connection between poop and fertilizer, especially when Vegimon itself is one of the 'poop-throwing loser' Adults from the early virtual pets. That said, the anime's framing doesn't make this very clear, so it remains jarring. I've anecdotally heard that smart-alecks eating poop is some kind of common Japanese cartoon gag, but I can't personally vouch for the truth of that. Regarding your points about the Crests, their activation stems less from the heroic act itself and more the driving sentiments; different people can commit the same deeds for different reasons, and I'd say that the show at least tries to make that disconnect clear, clumsily as it was handled in this batch of episodes. Comparing Taichi and Yamato in this context is interesting, because Courage and Friendship can be seen as strong, cyclical motivators for one another, something Omegamon's first formation eventually comes to illustrate. But, yeah. なんだ こりゃ indeed.

Pico Devimon is the devil themed bat mammal whereas Tokomon/Patamon is holy angel faced mammal.

While i dont disagree that this was a very bizarre way of having Matt's crest activate, i rather disagree with the idea that Server having a different currency than whatever file islands residents have(assuming there even are an equivelant of shop keepers there, we sure didnt see any in adventure.) is bad world building. rather what i always assumed is that the local currency is the same as the one that whatever part of the real world the place one find oneself in the digital world is connected to. file island would be japan, while Server, a large continent across the ocean is americas. Hence the local currency is american dollars. Now the larger question is how dollars is generated, but given that other parts of the franchise establishes that there are farms where meat grows like crops, there are a lot of possibilities. Now as for mimi's episode and the less than stellar writing and out of nowhere singing ability she has... There is a logical reason for it. it doesnt make the episode better, but the reason does make it make sense. See, mimi having a great singing voice was NOT planned as a part of her character, but when the show got made, the crew discovered that despite their really dirt poor budget, they managed to snag themselves a famous and skilled singer for one of their main leads. The reason why the plot is contrived, and that mimi's crest doesnt activate despite all logic saying it should, is that the entire episode was essentially written just so that they could let mimi's voice actress get a spotlight episode so she could show her stuff beyond the shows ending songs. which means that unlike all the rest, it doesnt just feel like filler, it actually IS as it was written with no plans for how it would fit in with the rest of the show and mimi's overall journey. Which is a shame, because despite its flaws, ive always had a soft spot for it.

Tk ditching his digivolve is entirely believable. Kids are dramatic. I packed up all my things in a blanket and tried to run away when I was his age. And my nephews sometimes just lose all rationality and fight. And I kinda like that Matt is annoyed with tk. Kids are annoying.

Wow. Did the actual writers take a vacation during these episodes and have some high schoolers write them instead?

I think the English dub is better stating digidollars.

Way I've always seen it, admittedly it's likely due to the English dub, these events play out as such as dark forces, namely Vamdemon, are attempting to render the Crests inactive, trying to undermine the group so as to prevent Perfect Evolution! The same reason he goes after Hikari in the Real World, the Chosen Children are obstacles, standing between him and his goals, destiny effectively showing her in particular ("two angels"), he's trying to avert his own destruction! I mean, he's clearly up on old prophecies, for all that's worth... Prophecies, in truth, are... difficult beasts, to say the least... In short, he's trying to save his own skin, is what I'm getting at here!

It's pronounced KOshiro, not KoSHIro. I have to point this out or I will go insane.
