Nice job. To get the swirl effect as the epoxy begins to dry/stiffen take a toothpick in the routed areas and swirl away!

I didn't look thru all the comments so you may have already got this, but the swirl effect you're looking for comes from using the color pigment verses the dye. I do like the effect you got from using two color dyes in the same space. Great effect.

Looks gorgeous! I don't think epoxy shrinks, but it does like to seep into the wood. So if the sealer wasn't fully cured it probably soaked up more than planned. Sometimes doing a light epoxy spread everywhere before starting the actual project helps. But it seems like you were able to fix it just fine with a light top flood coat too. PS it isn't food safe, so people should just use as a serving board and not an actual cutting board where they end up cutting into epoxy etc. But yeah, even as wall art, just beautiful.

It came out pretty well. Yeah, epoxy does shrink. You have to overpour it a bit, or do like you did with the clear epoxy top coat. As far as the swirls staying, it’s a timing thing. Ideally catching it as it’s hardening, but your stir path will still settle. Of course that time will depend on temperature and humidity and does vary from brands of epoxy. If you have a little extra left over, use it to test with. It’s kind of a hit and miss thing, and the timing that worked one time may be off the next. Epoxy can be too much fun sometimes.😅

Awesome job - only thing is I wouldn't brand it as a cutting board (or at least on the side with the resin) as its not food safe and it will also be prone to show knife marks REALLY quickly. What some people do is they make that the bottom and the other side the 'cutting surface'.
