One test page print example? One important thing I would like to see about a printer review is how it prints in color and blk/wht. Lots of tech specs and details, but would like to see the highest res print possible.
The maintenance box just “catches” the excess ink from printing or what’s flushed from the system during printer head cleaning. If it’s full, the printer won’t work so it needs to be replaced. Some printers don’t have a serviceable maintenance box so the whole printer needs to be replaced.
Thanks. I bought this printer and it arrived today. IF I knew it would last only 6 months I wouldn't have bought it. I should have watched this video before ordering.
@@mrswhite9379 I have this printer now for 2 years,no problems and I don't use it that often, what I do " mabe why it last so long",every couple weeks I do a maintenance, check the nozzle head and do a nozzle cleaning, you can do this in the maintenance section from the Home screen, evidently if you don't use this printer on a daily basis the printing head will clog or dry out and requires cleaning.
Hello. Thank you in advance for taking the time to answer my two questions! -How do you know when to change the ET2850 waste tank? -Regarding the ink..... Original or compatible? Hugs!!!
Hugs received, when it's time to change the waste tank, you will get a message on your display to change it. It'll be like an error code. Regards to the ink you can use any ink you want. There's a link in the description below for remanufactured ink you will save a lot of money going that way.
@@BestPrinters Hello. Regarding changing the tank, I have seen a lot of things... including having to go to Epson to reset the printer. Is it true or can you buy an original and just exchange it? Do you really have to go to the brand???? Have you changed any by any chance? Hugs !!!
Hello, I have a question. For the maintenance box, can it be replaced and if so what specific maintenance box would we need to buy for this printer? Thank you for making this video.
Hi Brandon, I purchased the Epson ET-2850 printer over two week ago and I am finding it difficult in one aspect. The cover was lifted to view the interior of the Printer. The LID is kept open by a sprocket lever system. I have not been able to release the sprocket lever so as to disengage the sprocket lever, therefore I am unable to close the lid, resulting in I not yet having used the printer. I am an IT graduate and I work with technology all the time. I have had four colleagues attempt to reseat the lid of printer, all of whom failed. Yes, if I use force, I am certain that I can get lid closed, but the "damage" would invalidate the warranty. I am waiting for an Epson Technician to call for over several days now, and he is wishing I can solve this problem myself. In the past, one would only need to raise the lid a little higher and the sprocket lever would disengage. Not this one!! Did anyone else have a similar problem and how is it solved. Is there some button to disengage the lever??? John Walsh.
You mentioned something about the maintenance box, I have the ET-2750 which is broken so I’m looking into this version. Can you make a video explaining more about this box?
The maintenance box just “catches” the excess ink from printing or flushed from the system during printer head cleaning. If it’s full, the printer won’t work and they need to be replaced.
After some research i found out this series with pigment black prints nice text and mediocre photos (glossy) because the pigment black is only used with matte paper. The smaller series with dye black prints better photos and poor text. For both you have to spend 3 times as much for the 8500. Oh well.
Thanks for your videos! I just bought this printer but haven't unboxed it yet. I have mixed feelings about the rear paper feed...I would prefer it to be in the front cassette. Why do they design them this way? I understand you can print envelopes, etc easier maybe from the back? Some printers give you the option to choose. I know I can get a front load for more money but not sure it is worth it.
Thanks for showing the box my question where would you find a new one / ink pad at ?? I looked around also come across someone on tiktok that was looking with no luck said epson told them no maintenance box on the 2850 that their out of luck please help
Thank you. I will be watching again as I am a slow learner, but I have a question regarding flash drives. I have items on flash drives to print out and will they work via wirless to my laptop or will I need to connect my laptop directly?
The Epson ET-2850 says "Max Paper Size 8.5" x 47.2", Does that mean it can print on rolled banner paper? I can't find any information on that anywhere. Can you do a video on it?
I bought this printer but have not set it up. Now i don't know if i sound keep it based on your comment about the "maintenance box". Will i need to buy a new printer in 6 months?
No, you just replace the maintenance box. The maintenance box just “catches” the excess ink from printing or from what’s flushed from the system during printer head cleaning. If it’s full, the printer won’t work and the maintenance box will need to be replaced.
Some printers don’t have a serviceable maintenance box and need to be fully replaced - hence his comment about the service panel being a perk with Epson
Can this model scan color slides (assuming that a slide holder is available from Epson) and if so how good is the 2400 dpi resolution when saved to a DVD?
Just bought this printer, and using it only for basic print jobs, mostly documents with some images. Right off the bat, the colors are muted, especially RED. Instead of vibrant colors, everything except for black seems like pastel. Any suggestions??
Hi Brandon can you tell me about the Maintenance box what is for? I want to buy this printer I'm little concern about the ink getting dry out as my old printer. I was looking for a Laser colour printer since I'm not using the printer to often, they very expensive though. You think this ink won't dry out? I see this printer on sale that the reason I want to check in RU-vid and I found your video. Thank you for your reply I believe you know by now about my question since you have the printer for 10 months thanks best regards from Canada.
Really appreciate all your videos on the Eco Tank, Thank you! I've only just seen it and am now looking into converting over to it from cartridge, so thank you again! Greetings from the UK
Hey thank you so much for this video! I’m just starting my digital art journey and I’m struggling to understand which printer is better for me. This one or the Canon G550?? I want the printer for digital illustrations Thank you so much
@@BestPrinters I was hoping for you’re opinion on the 2850 for photo quality as I haven’t seen the quality to know. Thank you for a quick response. The upgraded model is out of my price range
Thanks for the review. First time checking out ink tank printers. Can I still print in black if one ink tank is low or out of colour? That is will the printer stop the printing? Is there a way around it if it does stop printing?
How do you print two hard copy pages into one page. Is there an automatic feeder or do you need to scan both pages on the flat bed first then print it so it’s double sided?
This is a great video. I am having trouble getting mine to mirror my image. I changed it in the print setup on my computer but it does not help. Can you help me with this . Than you.
Thank you for this very useful video. I bought this printer last week all is well. On the control panel I can see there is a firmware update and it’s asking me to install it. Please let me know if you have any video on firmware updates and is it necessary to update . Thanks Brandon
Hello I just bought this printer. I have an old smart phone and says this app won't work on your device. Is there another way to set this up as I only need to print off my computer. Thanks as I'm not too savvy on all this new technology as I'm 80 years old. Thanks for any info you can give me.
Okay dude you were right, my 2820 was okay with card (but for how long?) but was not borderless so i bought a 2850 and returned my 2820. The 2850 is not as good as the 2820 imo, only thing its got is borderless and duplex. It cant do card at all, just chokes on it. Im sending that back. Now i have ordered the 8500 which CAN do card. Can you tell me if i need a CD reset thing to do maintenance box reset or do i just need to change the box?
Just wondering if there is a dock that will fit my new 24" IMac desktop computer? Thanks for your help in this video. I was having a terrible time getting my computer to talk with the printer and have beren having to reenter my password from my router every time I wanted to print.
I just got the printer and once i get to the wifi settings and input my password it says that it cant connect to the wifi but on the app it says my printer is already connected but wont let me use the app to print either
Great video. I'm considering purchasing this to replace my hp that eats cartridges and seems to clog up. However I wish to print greeting cards and you said no mention of being able to print or accept card stock . Any new thoughts?
My 2820 does 300gsm card like it was paper. Only negative is it doesnt have borderless printing so if you want that, then get what this guy has. it prints card just fine (up to 300gsm)
Thanks for the review!! Please can you tell me if you can scan through the feeder at the back? Or do you really have to scan one page, close the lid, and next page continuously?? Hope that’s not the case.
"I bought an Epson ET-2850 yesterday. I tried to print glossy photo paper on the printer, but it came out with sharp lines and roller markings from top to bottom. I returned the printer to the shop and tried a new printer with different glossy paper, but the same result occurred. Do you know what the problem might be, and how can I resolve it? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance."
I cannot scan. I have a USB cable connected, I set up my Wi-Fi that works because I can print from my phone. What is the problem? Do I need to upload an app for the scanner? Please help thank you🙃🙃
I'm considering putting this model on a shelf. When it's ready to use and has paper sticking out the top, how tall is it from the base (feet) up to the top of the papers?
They are roughly the same, I did a comparison video between the 2750 and 2850. That might provide more answers for you, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8u4tUlIBI4w.html
I’m stuck on the WiFi part. It won’t connect and keeps saying wrong password. I forgot the network on my iPhone and did the password I always used and it worked. Everything else was easy just this part is annoying!
After watching this video, i just tried printing on 300gsm Card using my ET-2820 Eats 300gsm for breakfast, as you know they are rated for 300gsm and are just fine with that media. Can you confirm if you can do borderless on A4 paper please?
Does anyone know how to select thick paper on here, i’m trying to print my own invitations? The paper i’m using worker one time but is not working anymore
I love your videos Brandon when it comes to new printer technology!! Your video reviews are very thorough which I love so consider me your #1 fan!!! It is because of your reviews that I own an Epson EcoTank printer and I will never go back to a regular inkjet printer so please keep your reviews coming!! They are very much appreciated!!! Thank you my friend! 👏👍😁
I just got my Epson ET 2850 today, and I have to say that I'm overwhelmed about the setup. All the button pushing has me completely confused. I'm going to hook it up with the disk and a USB cable and hope for the best. The Wifi thing is beyond me.
@@BestPrinters Just spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone with 2 heavily-accented women wearing masks. I installed the disk, PROPERLY (I've installed many printers over the years) everything was fine, but the printer itself had a problem they couldn't fix, after countless Delete-this, install-that, restart, rinse, repeat, repeat, repeat. I'm returning it to Amazon.
@@lizardas same found the wi-fi hard to set up and im usually good with this stuff. I got one computer to do the wifi eventually but not the one I wanted . Just ended up using usb. but few weeks in and find lines in my prints already . then had a paper jam and stopped working at all acts like its printing but no ink comes out .
Why don't you show that there is no closed paper feed tray but an open tray where the paper is standing in a kind of 45 degree angle or rather "hanging around" after some time and getting dusty?
