Joy, I started about two years before Covid , to purge things I’ve held on too. I’ve only kept things of sentimental value. I turn eighty in July. I don’t want my husband and children have to deal with it.

Joy, I’m 81 in excellent health. I love your videos. I have a rule, every 6 months I purge. If I don’t use it I donate. Not having to manage, stored stuff is not for me. I fine it very freeing . Presently I take care of 5 dogs when their owners go out of town, alter clothing for others,. Like you I sew, quilt, bead, paint and have known to go down the rabbit hole if something peaks my interest.

Joy you are such a natural beauty in so many ways. Love your personality and videos, please don't change. Jerry is right......no wigs.....be true to yourself as the senior years are our final journey and we all need to enjoy them.😍

No, I don’t believe there could be ANY copyright issue at all!! That is just nuts! These are all blocks that have been around for a hundred years and have been used by the public for a hundred years! The house and stars quilt that Edyta used for her club has been around for years! I’ve seen MANY people make quilts like that and I’ve even seen patterns for sale that look like that. So please don’t give it a second thought..I don’t have any idea why someone would even think about your quilt being a copyright problem! You just continue doing what you’re doing and have fun with no worries my friend❤️ You are an amazing quilter!!

You just need to ignore those negative comments. I do agree with Jerry about not getting a hair piece or wig. I’m 71 and my hubby and family love me for me not the way I look. You have such a beautiful spirit! You put up with so many nit-pickers in regards to your hair and other personal matters. Each person chooses to colour or not to colour their hair, 'silver threads'. No one chooses to make my life busier to keep me up to their standards. Oh, oh, I guess im one of your picky people! I don't like trim waste for the flying geese easy method! Oops. Oh, well, I'm 64 and have scrimped all my life, as did my parents. I can't change now. I think it is stitched into my "genes." I think I need the tee-shirt! Love you Joy.

I'm decluttering also. Doing away with things we've held on to because someone gave it to me who I don't see or visit with anymore for various reasons. My son and daughter are adults, so their childhood items will be donated to charity. My dresses and suits were donated to Dress for Success. A charity for domestic violence survivors. Love your encouragement about quitting other than just quilts. 😊

Downsizing is very freeing , especially when you know your treasures are going to help others. We all reach the point in our lives when simple brings joy. I am in the process of replacing all my rulers with Quilters Select. They are so much easier to hold and get precise cuts.

Thank you so much for praying for me & my family. I’ll be 70 in February and yeah I have some aging issues but I just trust in the Lord and try to live life to my fullest. I probably waste thread getting things done right and I figure out where I want my hem and do a basting stitch all the way around and use that to turn up my hem. Then after I get my hem done I take out the basting stitch. Really speeds up my hemming time.

I love all the stuff you make. Wish I had your energy. I do some gardening and grow a bunch of herbs and garlic. Our season just about done here in Buffalo. I still have a bunch of leeks in and several herbs that can last all winter. I hope your husband is doing well, he's been thru so much😊😊

Have you tried taking melatonin, I take 1.5mg but I’m very sensitive to drugs. But do try it since it is more natural. I have to log with each snippet bc I can’t remember. I was laughing so hard because I’m doing the same thing, getting rid of stuff, I think just because I’m getting older and just want to de-clutter. Love you sweetie, take care.

I buy very few quilt patterns. If I see a quilt I like, I figure out how to make the blocks and the measurements, and make it without the pattern. If that is copyright infringement, then they should not show their quilts to the world.

Joy! I have the same problem WHEN it’s close to a FULL MOON! Tomorrow is a full moon! The next full moon is Nov. 13, I believe.. but especially when you said it only happens about 4 times a month.. keep track of that possibility 😉 !

Hey Joy, if you go into your settings on your iPad and then you go into general and then go into your iPad storage you can go in there and set it up so you delete all the old stuff that you don't need anymore stored on your iPad and it frees up some of the space. If you have applications that you don't really use that much, you can offload them they stay on the iPad and when you want to use them or you do is touch them and they reload onto the iPad. I do this with my iPhone frequently because it gets to free up all the extreme space that's hanging out there. You can look online also how to free up space on your iPad and there's different RU-vid videos that will show you how to do different things instead of buying a new one.

Is the flying geese method Eleanor Burns way and rulers to shape these perfect? Maybe . I have rulers to make these in different sizes I purchased years ago and I think they were this method, have not done this in a while.

Just exactly WHO made the rule that as people get "older" they "should" downsize? I surely didn't come up with that, and I refuse to go along with such a dumb arse idea. Hell NO....I want the biggest place I can muster. I want all the room I can get. I refuse to be pushed into a cramped situation., a closet if you will, because some idiot decided I need to be..based on my age! I've sacrifed my space when I had children..NOW I want to spread my arms and not have a wall, or body, to stop me. Finally, I have a place to myself, and I want every damn inch of it. And NO it is NOT more to clean. Another stupid idea. You aren't going to make much mess on your own, or with two people in the house. Just clean up after yourselves. Additionally, you do NOT need to dust or vacuume every day. Make a daily schedule, and do that. At the end of a week, two weeks or a month, or what ever YOU decide..the entire house was cleaned. Good enough.
