I just bought this pattern because of you. I hope my top comes out as nice as yours. I think your lower neckline does look better on you! Thanks for taking the time to show us the how-to.
You I adore your RU-vids. But sewing knits on a sewing machine for me is a torture. I use my coversitich ( I have a Babylock BLCS 2 )and a Babylock serger Envy. Must be over 25 years old. I am so sorry about my remark. I love to see you feeting the patterns. Thank you.
Marta, I totally understand. I don’t always use the serger for knits because if the fit is off, the seam allowance is cut off. I did make an entire outfit today with just the serger except for the hems.
I’m a new subscriber and really just getting back into sewing more due to retiring. Your videos are so special as your personality just shines through them. Your tops and blouses are just beautiful. I love floral patterns also. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful knowledge. Love from Scotland.❤
Oh my oh my oh my. I'm 80 and have just decided to try and make something that actually fits me. I am so tired of trying and trying. It is discouraging to see that you, with all your experience, make things that don't turn out.I'm not ready to give up, but it is all pretty discouraging.
Try to enjoy the process of GETTING THERE. Most everything I make turns out. If I would make the tried and true patterns only, I wouldn't have any problems. I always like to try something new though.
Love your top Joy! Try washing your wool blanket in hair conditioner have heard that it can help correct wool that shrinks! Have not tried but worth a go ❤
Thank you Joy for showing your method of binding. I am a new quilter. It was very helpful. Is there a reason that you use tiny stitches instead of backstitch to secure stitches?
Hi Joy. I love watching your videos. I know this video is a couple years old but I’m hoping you will respond. So I have bought the shirt kit and am working on my Muslim for my body blue print. I am so confused on how my Muslim is supposed to fit. Is is supposed to be kind of tight to contour to my body? This is what I would think but it says it has like 5” of ease so is the shirt kit sloper suppose to fit more like how you would want a T-shirt to fit? Basically you could make a shirt out of your body blueprint and it will fit as is? I emailed sure fit and was told it should fit snug not how you’d want an actual shirt to fit but I don’t see how that is possible since the shirt kit has so much ease in it as is. I would appreciate any help. Thank you
Totally up to you Lindy as to how much ease you want in a pattern. Remember, knit fabric can have less ease than woven fabrics. I made woven shirts exactly the same as the bluprint size, and they fit me fine. Always too big in the sleeves, but all patterns are on me.
Joy i have sewn hobby pieces lately. I was so nerves to do a pattern ,but you gave me inspiration to do one. If I make a mistake I make one and try again. I just got out my sure fit designs that I have had I know for 15 years and never opened. From you I learned alot about adjusting patterns. I am going to try and I will let you know what happens
Good for you Vickie. Be very careful with your measurements. If you measure wrong, your pattern won't fit right. Be sure you mark the correct dots. I'm sure you understand.
Hi Joy. I went to Dollar Tree today but they just had 1 white board so I bought the black boards and 1 white boards. Can I use the black ones and will it not go off on the material? Please help. Thank you so much.
I'm sorry if I missed you telling us what pattern you used for that gorgeous pink top you're wearing in the intro and at the end. Fabric is so nice, and color is perfect!! Very, very nice, Joy!
Oh my your intro and outro shirt is perfect shade of pink for your skin. Also I have never seen fabric hang so nicely. Please tell me what is that fabric? Thank you for the great video; especially enjoyed your haul.
Hello to your husband! My husband is usually on his computer researching something. When he needs something -- say an air compressor or power washer -- he researches every one in the world! He spent days researching tv's before purchasing one for this house. Drives me crazy. LOL. He also checks on all the investments daily. He goes shopping with me for groceries and we go out to eat a lot. He goes over to his barn and gets his boat cleaned up or his lures organized or vacuums or whatever. If something is broken in the house, he fixes it. Light switches, light bulbs, toilet seats, furniture. We both hate anything to be broken or stained. Always something to do. Jerry always does the dishes after we eat dinner. Sometimes, he sets the table. I usually have everything done already except for what we actually use to eat our dinner on. After dinner, we watch whatever we can find on RU-vid because TV and the news is awful. Our TV is never on at all until about 7 PM or later. We both like to stay busy all day. Oh, he loves to watch Thunder basketball games, but the season is over now. He wants to go fishing in his boat for the first time tomorrow here at the "new" house with our Nephew.
All my fabric is stored in totes and such a pain when I want to make something. I will look for some foam core. We have dollar tree canada store and store called Dollarama so I will check and see as your idea is awesome! I have a pair of shorts that I absolutely love so I took them apart and used it as a pattern, bad idea they turned out huge so I made the adjustments to the pattern and luckily the second pair worked. They look great and I even made welt pockets on the back.
Hi Joy. Is it just me...I get caught out ordering fabric online. It doesn't turn out like I expect ! I've just ordered 10 metres of 'lightweight jersey' (£1 a metre) it's nice but it rustles 😂 My son said 'you can't wear that they'll hear you coming' lol
Joy! Lani tunic looks much better now - and that is a pretty fabric! I think pockets would be great in that top. The red/white daisy print top is adorable. Love it.
@@Joy4650B I would LOVE to take you and Jerry out to lunch! If I ever get out that way - I will most definitely look you up! We bought a used Class C Sunseeker by Forest River. 24.5 foot. :)
You are so adorable and so much fun to watch. I hope we get some footage of you and Philly together. I enjoy her also. I also appreciate that you are trying new ways to do things and continue to learn and challenge yourself. You are an inspiration.
We all LOVE fabric. Yummy, yummy. The Eggshell and Banana Pudding is a good color on you. It lightens your face. I shopped the same sale and it was fabulous!
Good to see you again! The Lani looks ok. I like the fabric. I think shortening it was a good idea, but the crossover point in the front should be lowered an inch or two, in my opinion. Like when you make it again. You could also tack it closed at the top stitch point if you feel it's opening up too much. I appreciate your videos so much, and have really been missing you! I'm just getting into this video, but wanted to go ahead and comment on the Lani before I forgot! Hugs! Peggy
Joy, Joy, Joy! So good to see you! I love the snippets! Fabric choices are beautiful as always. Truly enjoy your humor. Thank you, hope to see you soon!
Hi Joy! Your make up in your intro and ending looks especially pretty! Also, the top you were wearing while showing all your new fabric might just be my very favorite top you wear! I absolutely love the fabric you made it out of! I remember when you made it. By the way, your kitchen is very pretty!
