I also liked the movie, but i still waiting that Derpy spin-off XD.

(Spoilers) Did like how Derpy save Twilight at the beginning of the movie

You pretty much had my same thoughts. It had some issues but it was fun (most important part for me) and freakin’ GORGEOUS. Also, yeah, whoever said The Emoji Movie was better is delusional.

When "twilight" got turned into stone i said to my friend "i swear if thats derpy i will do something" and at the end when they relived (idk if thats right) that is was derpy i said "Omg who wants to be stabed"

I think it was confirmed that the movie takes place in between season 7 and 8. Especially since DHX confirmed that we're getting a seapony in season 8

Yeah, I'm thinking that the other writer, Joe, was an agent of Hasbro limiting the creativity of Megan McCarthy, constantly saying, "entertain the kids". While they did put effort into fan references, the story lacks as it seems just an extended kid's episode.

This movie actually brought some of my old friends back into the show, I'm their guide back into the show since they all dropped off around season five's Starlight Glimmer arc. Also I'll admit that I cried more times than I should've during the film. But it's because I was so invested in the show, that seeing this great piece of entertainment come together from a show meant for little girls really tugged at my heart a lot. I teared up during the rainboom cause the animation looked amazing, i teared up during the "failing at friendship" scene after the whole ordeal with the hippogryphs, my heart broke when Tempest got her backstory shown, but I actually cried when "Rainbow" started playing. It was such an emotional song and I can almost relate to it's lyrical message because of some personal issues that I've had in the past. This movie is currently my favorite of all time, even though it's probably bias, but everything really came together in the end. 9/10 because the Storm King really could've been exploited more. Even in the comics

I heard the movie was set in between the end of Season 7 and beginning of Season 8

I know the Twilight stealing the pearl is in character but MAN! That frustrated me to no end!! XD. I also felt like the movie could've done better with the pacing. The Pinkie Twilight moment was phenomenal and I feel like there could've been more of that.

To me the movie was good But it seemed a bit cliche to me Also and it's not the best thing to attract new fans but the voice acting songs and animation was amazing Yah and people who hadn't read the comics wouldn't care much of new characters I'm also really glad they made sea ponies and hippogriff cannon Also I love reading the IDW comics

I would say I have to agree with you on most everything here. I like the expression "fetch quest" to describe the kind of generic movie plot thing that they're railroaded into. The only way I thought to describe it before was "the Spongebob Squarepants Movie formula." Now I want a cut of the movie with Ocean Man played over the credits, lol

I think the creators of MLP should change the reasons why the bad guys become villains. It’s usually because they lost a friend or didn’t feel appreciated. I swear Equestria needs therapists and the show needs fleshed out and good villains like Adagio

I am really happy that I found you. A lot of bronies are overly negative about some things in the show because of reasons that may not even apply, though often do, but they tend to take it too far. Like, with various 'childish jokes'... a lot of adults who watch children's shows and movies and review them tend to state that they really had no good reason to put it in there, it's not really that funny, and they doubted that children actually enjoyed it. But they do. They will criticize minor errors, and some might even go so far as to criticize the movie for its different art style, they're so negative. They don't stop to consider why these things are actually good. Spike at Your Service was undeniably a terrible episode, but one of the biggest complaints is that the Dragon Code came out of nowhere, and it was stupid. Thing is, Spike actually says "Spike the Dragon Code" not just "The Dragon Code" In other words, it is his personal code of conduct, and based on events, he may have come up with it to reconcile the behavior of other dragons with himself. You are always quick to point out what makes things good, and slow to point out what makes them bad, which I appreciate. I am proud to put you among my favorite brony youtubers (Honestly, with my enjoyment of your videos, you are above Dr Wolf, but below Silver Quill. I'm sorry, he's just too funny.)

I actually found the song ‘open up your eyes’ on RU-vid ... followed it to my little pony the movie ... and that’s how I first found and watched the my little pony friendship is magic series. So, I’d call the film a success. I’m now a fan!

I heard the movie took fourth at the box office right behind Blade runner, It and one other movie I can't currently remember the name of at this time. The MLP movie getting fourth at the box office is far better than I actually expected. I enjoyed this movie but I'll need to see it five more times before I can rate it. I also read the prequel comics and the Stormy Road to Canterlot novel so I knew a lot more about these new characters before they showed up in the movie and knowing their backstory for me made the movie more enjoyable. Maybe if we're lucky Hasbro will want to do at least one more in a few years. As for where this movie takes place in the timeline and why characters from the show who could have done something weren't there in the movie... I believe the movie is sometime after season six "No Second Prances" and Equestria Girls: legend of Everfree but before or during any of the EQG specials. Discord isn't there and even if he was he most likely wouldn't help at this time due to him believing that the mane six can handle it, plus he would probably prefer to sit back and see how things play out. In the season six finale he showed no sign of really wanting to help until he learned that the changelings had Fluttershy and even when he did help plot caused him to become almost useless. If he had tried to help in the movie he most likely would have been turned to stone. Starlight and Trixie based on were I believe this movie takes place, they haven't become heroes yet and I think they most likely would have ran to the crystal empire to get help or got caught or went into hiding. If the movie took place after they became heroes then I think they would have done something to help. Based on where I place this movie in the timeline the dragons and changelings are a no go for help. I kind of feel like the mlp movie takes place after both EQG: Legend of Everfree, Dance Magic and Movie Magic but before Mirror Magic and I place Mirror Magic after this movie but before the season six finale. This is based on what I've said so far and for the fact that Starlight was still called Twilight's student during Mirror Magic. Plus for the fact that Starlight was willing to run off to an other world when now she most likely would talk to Twilight first. Also the whole Starlight and Juniper thing makes sense to me when I think of that being as to why Starlight attempted to befriend Chrysalis. As for the reasons why I doubt this movie takes place after season seven, well... I have twelve reasons why I don't think so. Who knows though. I might be wrong.

I was already a Bronie. Then I came to obsess over Descendants. I got to know the cast of Descendants, even Kirsten Chenoweth as Malifencent. When I saw she played Skystar, while watching this video again, I screamed like a true fan. To be honest, IM FREAKING OUT! This is more proof that MLP is the best, together with Descendants.

I love love LOVE My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic the TV series, but I didn't fall in love with the movie. To me it lacked the heart, soul, depth, and sense of humor I'm used to with the series. Plus the villains were more creepy/dark than charming/ fun (Tempest's horn gives me the chills, and I'm an "adult"). I feel like the whole under the sea plot was solely written as an excuse for more toy figures and sales (I collect other toys as well, and it feels like a rehash from the Monster High movie Great Scarrier Reef). Luckily I'm super late to the G4 pony boat, so wasn't all hyped up before I saw the movie. It left me with an empty feeling, that the brilliant series filled in beautifully (I'm currently on season 5, and savoring every minute). Love your mlp videos. Thanks

Too bad derpy got stoned

The only negative thing I can say was that I was the only brony in the theater. So awkward.

I was going see this at my theater but it pretended like it doesn't exist the day it came out, then 3 weeks later, they decided to play it for one more week, which I was unable to go to because I spent my money to see it at the Universal Studios theater. That really pissed me off because I paid more than what my theater gave.

I feel bad for tempest, it must have been excruciatingly painful for her to loose half her horn and not even getting it back at the end of the movie although promised is just sad for her

While the weekend was a little under 10 million dollars, it grossed a total of 60 million overall. That is a little under 3 times it’s budget, while I don’t think they’ll make a sequel I’m glad the movie was a success.

Whoever said that the MLP movie was worse than the Emoji Movie definitely has no brain cells whatsoever.

I admit, the time when the movie came out I kinda took a break from MLP. I understand most of the plot in this movie and I'm back in the fandom. If there was one scene I hated the most would be The Mane 6 Arguement. Tara Strong and Andrea Libman really pulled on a great performance but I really hated Twilight in that scene. And I kinda wished they had equal amount of diagole (and Starlight and/ or Derry could just have one speaking line). TBH if Fluttershy was sick though the whole movie, nothing would of changed. But all in all Good Movie
