Went back and watch the act again. Either he is god or you are totally wrong. He moves the cards in his hand in the open and they still change color.

I figured how he did the rest I slowed it to the maximum and watched the maximum. The first part was electronic and he said how he changed the cards but then his vest changed color. When he flipped the card away from the table '' by accident " one of his hands went down the table and he grabbed one of the layers of the suit and tossed as hard as he can under the table. Because his chest was down from him throwing the card it was very hard to see the change (he had two layers over his suit one black then colorful and the last one it was the actual suit). Them the first time he grabbed a card then flipped it and changed color he moved it at the end of the table and his thumb went under the table and grabbed the black card the guy in the video is talking about. The first time he switched a card into a coin he grabbed the coin in a similar way and then by turning his wrist towards him he threw the card under the table very quickly threw the coin. Watch his hand grabbing things the he put right under the table. I'm not sure how he made a card dissappeared or change a color half way but I figured out these things. . .

Crazy part was when he threws all those cards and it all turns into coins..

Great explanations. I caught most of the sleight of hand, but that instant appearance of the rectangular tape frames had me stumped and all I could think of was stop motion trick photography. Your explanation of them being a screen is probably likelier. One thing's for sure....he's damned talented. Thanks!

Eric's mat was not even black lol, you can't be more wrong than that. It was TEXTURED and for a reason, it's because that mat has cuts in it, most likely latex or other form of rubber. on one scene you can literally see his cards disappear inside the mat. he doesn't cover the whole deck and you can see from corner of the cards that he slides them inside the mat, that's the reason it's textured, so it's nearly impossible to notice the cuts in it. you might be right about the "tape" tho, because I noticed that both sides look identical. could be some sort of screen and again texture helps hide it. in fact at end when those "tapes" disappear, then on left side you can see blur, could be screen, but then again if you're not using high speed camera, you won't catch it on camera, he could use a simple rubber band and cut in the mat and just pull it inside the mat. normal cameras are only like 30 - 120 fps, that's very slow compared to good "rubber band pull". but in general this video is bullshit, you didn't even talk about the best parts of his trick, which was the jacket changing colors and him cutting the card in half with piece of cloth / tape.

This is a good speculation but a lot of his stuff was more like the sleights taught by Lennart Green.

+CardShuffler99 - good vid, thank you. Some feedback, though. The BOTTOM DEAL is "correct"; but how YOU did it is "wrong" compared to Eric Chien's. You pull blues from the "top" edge. He does not. He uses under-fingers to push a blue SIDEWAYS UNDER a "covering RED", and flips out so the blue is not seen. Utimately, this concept is "correct" -- he stages blues to (bottom-)deal to the blue side.

Yu can reveal his trick but yu cant perform like accuracy he does ...

With the box, if you look very closely, there is a flap that blends with the lid, so he lifts the lid and the flap, closes the lid and the flap, then just opens the lid, or this is how you could do it.

The half blue half red changes to the same card is crazy

For everyone asking HOW the CUT CARD (5 of Hearts) is done.. ((This is a long one!)): I WILL TEACH YOU HOW TO SPOT IT, _THREE TIMES_.. * * *MASSIVE SPOILER ALERT* * * He has a "cover piece" matching the table cloth, sitting THE WHOLE TIME in his nearside LEFT corner -- the corner of the table FURTHEST from us, on OUR RIGHT. MAGNETS are involved! [1] Prepare: Play the video. Press the Right Arrow key, it should move the video forward 5sec. If not, CLICK on the video to (put "Focus" on the video and) Pause it. Then press the SPACE BAR to Un-Pause again. Test your arrow keys. Left/Right arrow key should move you Back/Forward 5sec. [2] Once your arrow keys do the 5sec move, go to 4.50/9.06 (Official AGT version). FULL SCREEN view is always better. (Alt-Enter) Next, he makes all the RED-Backed cards "disappear": @4.51 he takes the TOP card in hand -- it's actually a _Black-Faced_ Red-Back. @4.54 he deals it near the *middle* of the table, but then moves his hand further toward us. @4.55 he lifts away to show it "disappeared". @4.57 he DRAGS his RIGHT hand BACK along the table, dropping the Black-Face card off the edge. @4.59 - 5.04 I believe(!) the others are "Sleight of Hand"-flicked backward off the table, hidden from camera by his own hand/arm... (Not sure.) AFTER all the Red-backed cards are "gone", @5.05 he does an over-acting table-grab at the "disappeared" cards. @5.06 HIS RIGHT HAND (to our left) comes down and BRUSHES THE RIBBON ASIDE -- this gives him the EXCUSE to "re-set" the Ribbon, AND set the cover material up next to it! ... THIS MOMENT IS CRITICAL: @5.07 he brings HIS LEFT hand (to our right!) off to the far corner where the cover patch is, WHILE using his RIGHT hand [MISDIRECTION! getting our attention!] to LIFT the RIBBON. Then, @5.08 as his RIGHT hand (to our left!) holds and "straightens" the Ribbon, his LEFT hand slides the cover material toward the Ribbon. @5.09 his RIGHT hand lays the Ribbon over the cover-patch's EDGE, in LEFT hand's cover. @5.10 he lifts BOTH hands. NOW for the REVEAL: @5.12, he's lifted the 5 of Hearts up off the table, and given it a tumble. **PRESS the SPACE BAR to PAUSE**, as he's holding it up to the Camera. Video time should (preferably) have JUST changed to 5.13. (If you're not FULL SCREEN yet, do that now while it's paused..) KEEP your eyes on the spot about 1/4 down the ribbon from him, and to OUR RIGHT of the ribbon. Press the Left-Arrow-Key ONCE for a 5-sec rewind. If you paused at a good spot (late 5.12, early 5.13), you will have a CLEAR VIEW and be able to notice a CHANGE in the table surface at that exact location, now paused at 5.07/5.08! Missed it? Press SpaceBar to UN-pause, wait for him to twirl the card AND hold it up to Camera, then press SpaceBar again to PAUSE. Time should read 5.12 or 5.13. 1/4 along the ribbon in sight? Press Left-Arrow ONCE. Spot the change? :D :D :D So THAT's the COVER PATCH for the "cut card" trick. (It's reinforced to stay straight & flat) ... AND HERE'S THE "MAGIC"...: @5.15 he lines up the CARD with the "cover material". @5.16 he LIFTS the Ribbon. **NOTICE he **_HOLDS DOWN_** the Cover Patch!!** (You MIGHT notice part of the ribbon looks a "thicker" white colour - it is DOUBLE LAYERED with tiny MAGNETS just over a CARD'S-WIDTH APART.) @5.20 ((JUST as the Camera switches view!)) he lowers the Ribbon JUST ENOUGH for the Magnets to catch, so the Ribbon is now PULLING the Cover Patch. His LEFT hand is held OVER, to shade from Stage Lights and partially BLOCK the CAMERA's view, so we can't clearly see what's actually moving. His RIGHT hand holds the Ribbon "straight" so it does not "give away" that it is trailing / pulling anything. @5.25 -- JUST AFTER his hands move away from the Ribbon & Card, PAUSE and LOOK CLOSELY at the Ribbon, you'll spot the TWO LITTLE BULGES where the Magnets are NOTE: The "cut card" piece is ATTACHED TO the back of the 5 of Hearts. @5.28 he PEELS THE PIECE OFF to show the Audience. BUT LOOK CLOSER... AS HE PEELS OFF the Cut Piece with his Right hand, his LEFT hand is HOLDING DOWN the Ribbon and Cover Patch! WATCH CAREFULLY where the Cut Piece _was_ when he takes his LEFT hand AWAY FROM the Cover Patch -- see it MOVE / LIFT slightly??? This is the BACK of the 5 of Hearts card, painted(?) to MATCH the Table Cloth around it. ** RAPTUROUS APPLAUSE ** @5.34 he REPLACES the Cut Piece with his RIGHT hand, carefully re-aligning it. AGAIN .. he is HOLDING DOWN the Ribbon & Cover Patch with his LEFT hand. The reverse move (to UN-cover the 5 of Hearts) is less slow/deliberate. @5.38 he DROPS the Ribbon again and goes to lift the 5 of Hearts. *** PRESS the SpaceBar to PAUSE *** Keep your eye where the "patch" will be, to OUR right of the Ribbon, in front of / below HIS LEFT thumb... *** Press the LEFT-ARROW key ONCE to Rewind 5ec *** Here, @5.33, the table next to HIS LEFT pinky finger .. you will AGAIN notice the DIFFERENCE in the table cloth pattern. @5.43, though, there has been an EDIT, as the RIBBON now looks different to just a couple seconds ago. We have missed whatever he did to REMOVE (by Sleight of Hand) the Cover Patch he used; it's no longer there. I also think there was a "pickup" shot (re-shoot) done separately, because at the VERY END (@7.02-7.03) Eric Chien is STANDING. When the Camera cuts to TERRY CREWS @7.04, though, Eric Chien is SITTING DOWN... :P
