All four appeared in the music video, but East and Phillinganes were indeed not heard. Beside Clapton and Collins the studio version features Phil Palmer on guitar, Alan Clark on keyboards, Pino Palladino on bass, Katie Kissoon and Tessa Niles on backing vocals.
Yes. But people are claiming it's Pino on the track. Possibly Pino Palladino recorded in studio, but Nathan is in the video because he is the usual live player ?
Agree. Not only sound, there's something unique about the way Phil playing his drum line. you almost not even have to see the drummer and could tell just by hearing the drumming and guess that it was Phil playing or at least he was involved in producing the song in some degrees. I'm not that deep fan of Phil's drumming, but I still can tell that Chester, Rickey, even his son Nick, these people drum for Phil, but never came close to give the same feeling when Phil drumming by himself. 👍
Did you know Phil Collins played drums in the video so Eric Clapton returned the favor and played guitar in phil colluns video for I wish it would rain down
No good at all !! Collins 🥁drummed Clapton 🎸against the wall. E.C. didn’t deserved something like this. But, by the end of the 80‘s, Clapton was ‚down under‘, so he was glad that his friend ? 😠Collins gave his broken career a helping hand.
I love this song and the two rock legends of Eric Clapton and Phil Collins together....the excellent drumming of Collins and the awesome guitar of Clapton, make this song that no one else could surpass!👏👏👍👍
You forgot a third one: Nathan East on bass. And a fourth near-legend is here: While he wasn't the keyboardist on this track according to credits, Greg Phillinganes (longtime keyboardist and musical director with Michael Jackson) was in this video.
Phils and Erics friendship brought so many solid rock songs. This one, I wish It would Rain down and a few other in Phils But Seriously Record. And many others
Oh what a feeling I get when I'm with you You take my heart into everything you do And it makes me sad for the lonely people I walked that road for so long Now I know that I'm one of the lucky people Your love is making me strong I've had enough bad love I need something I can be proud of I've had enough bad love No more bad love And now I see that my life has been so blue With all the heartaches I had till I met you But I'm glad to say now that's all behind me With you here by my side And there's no more memories to remind me Your love will keep me alive
Singerman: You said Nathan East didn't play bass here, that Pino Pallodino did. If Pino is white, and the bass player here is black, how do you explain that? Are you colorblind?
I love the black and white, love Phil on drums and vocals, the cute swing of the keyboard musician, and their backup vocals are flawless as well. The song is just so cool. Thanks, Slowhand.
justafanintexas Phil's drumming sounds fantastic on this, his signature sound and rhythmic flow on the kit takes this song to another level, I love that snare and those concert toms
Dude. I want to be as kind as I can in responding. I will simply defer to this..."Better to Remain Silent and Be Thought a Fool than to Speak and Remove All Doubt." Phil Collins is one of the greatest and most respected drummers in modern times. Spend 10 minutes on Google since you haven't spent any time listening. That is, unless you just don't get it. At which point, you are helpless.
Unbelievable stunning! Such collaborations are not possible nowadays. No one can reach this level of creativity and talent these days. I miss this hardly. Their music carries us through all situations in life and we can’t thank them enough 💞
This is my favorite EC song, but it's not an easy choice. When slowhand plays a note, it is so solid, confident and full. Jaco was like that too, no slop. Also I love EC's voice, I try to sing like him in certain ways. Seeing Phil on the drums explains a lot because PC has a kind of drive but he also doesn't play hard to do it. He's a master at tempo. On Jesus He Knows Me, is another example.
Excelente tema! Cuatro grandes músicos que de forma individual o en grupo siempre le dan su estilo a lo que tocan. Phil Collins: Bateria y coros. Eric Clapton: Voz principal y guitarra. Nathan East: Bajo Greg Phillinganes: Teclados
Eric Clapton is without a doubt the greatest guitarists to ever “rock an ax”, every lead guitarist around the world could stands to learn from him. It just doesn’t get any better than this, Phil is not shabby either. What a great match up!!!!
Oh what a feeling I get when I'm with you You take my heart into everything you do And it makes me sad for the lonely people I walked that road for so long Now I know that I'm one of the lucky people Your love is making me strong I've had enough bad love I need something I can be proud of I've had enough bad love No more bad love And now I see that my life has been so blue With all the heartaches I had till I met you But I'm glad to say now that's all behind me With you here by my side And there's no more memories to remind me Your love will keep me alive I've had enough bad love I need something I can be proud of I've had enough bad love No more bad love I've had enough bad love I need something I can be proud of I've had enough bad love No more bad love I've had enough bad love I need something I can be proud of I've had enough bad love No more bad love
listen to his breaks, his drum fills, it's really punchy and amazing ! 100% PC style! His toms are concert toms :huge difference with most drummers . This song is amazing from A to Z! The guitare solo is really incredible! On bass Pino ! And listen to the hi hat pedal moving all along the song ! Only the best drummers play like that: PHIL IS THE Man !
How in the world could you confuse Nathan East for Pino Pallodino? It isn't even close in terms of resemblance....this was way before Pino's time anyway. See Mr. Scott below....
@@davidscott129 Nathan East is playing in this video, but Pino Palladino plays bass on the track. Also, Greg Phillinganes doesn’t play keyboards on the original track, it is Alan Clark.
never knew phil was in this song... ive always liked the drumming in this song, had a feeling it had a little extra something that always caught my attention... now i know why
Eric enjoyed all his bad love...me thinks he does protest too much.....Great sound...I love the combo of Phil and Eric and the rest of the band...all world class musicians....how lucky were we in the 80's..
