The Ernie Ball Music Man James Valentine “Valentine” guitar features a slab ash body, two Ernie Ball Music Man designed pickups (1-humbucker/1-single coil), with 3-way custom wired lever switch, coil tap, modern hardtail bridge with vintage bent steel saddles, 25.5-inch scale, oil and wax rubbed roasted maple neck with 10-inch radius maple fingerboard, 22 stainless steel frets, oversized 4-over-2 headstock and compensated nut, designed for superior tuning stability.

Just bought sweet #16, amazing is all I can say. Tele spank and grit bridge, with a super bluesy neck. It like the best of both worlds. Cannot say enough about the wonderful necks they build.

This Music Man is a nice guitar. I've never liked gold hardware. Makes me think of a gold-plated watch. The neck, on the other hand, is stunning. Again, a very nice guitar.

I agree with you for the most part about the gold hardware. There are three cases where I think gold hardware come into it's own; first on is a Koa guitar with gold hardware is gorgeous, second is a well worn-in guitar with worn gold hardware gets rid of the jewelry appearance and appears more rich in color, lastly BB King's Lucille, what can I say, it's ICONIC! Both the boost and the coil tap have trim pots on the active PCB.

Well, I love the student loan joke as I am a music student working on my masters degree at VCU in Richmond, Virginia. However, I do like this guitar, myself or all of the Valentine models may be different colors, but aren’t they all built the same as this and as well, doesn’t the body on this have an interesting taper or did you notice the taper on the front of the body as it seems to get thinner as it goes up towards your chin or at least it looks like that to me. Just curious thanks guys wanted to see if that was done to all of the guitars but when you did not mention it, I wasn’t sure thanks again.
