although, be careful playing on a dark stage, the fret dots can disappear amongst the flamed maple pattern. I had similar issues with a Cutlass. My Stingray has the plain maple neck and a lot more easy to see what you're playing

I love the body style, which looks like a Strat and a 335 were forced to mate. I also love MM guitars in general. I own a Steve Morse and a Steve Morse Y2D. Each is excellent and each plays perfectly out of the box. The neck on each of these guitars, esp the Steve Morse, is truly outstanding. I also own a Sterling John Petrucci model that's quite nice. All that said, while I have to acknowledge that I'm listening to this demo on my Mac Book Pro speakers, I can't say that the sounds being produced by this guitar couldn't be produced by a PRS SE or a Strat costing many hundreds of dollars less. To me, what it boils down to is whether the neck feels really great to you when you play the instrument.

Fantastic reviews!!! 👍🙏I’m a strat player. Now I’m thinking of getting another axe next to my Strats with higher output for playing some classic rock stuff but being versatile at the same time. There is a Valentine with trem and a Luke III for sale. I really like the appearance and the tonal options of the Valentine better, however, I’m afraid that the single coil bridge would not satisfy my needs. Should I go for the Luke III or you think that the Valentine can produce enough gain and output for playing classic rock (not metal).?

A valentine would be a great guitar to compliment a Strat and still give something different. I absolutely think the pick-up in the valentine can handle plenty of gain… just like a good Tele pickup

What is the neck like compared to an AZ?

I haven't played an AZ. My general perception is that musicman necks are in the same ballpark as those sorts of guitars though. Maybe slightly narrower
