Erra is everything I ever wanted from a band growing up. Most musicians overdo it with playing super technical and it just sounds like someone going out of their way to show off. Erra blends it perfectly.
This what I keep telling people. Normally I dont get into technical stuff it's ok but gets boring real fast. These guys seem to have found the perfect balance between technicality and tastefulness
@@antonstechman957 as a musician I can appreciate technical stuff, but from the point of making music that's really enjoyable to listen to, it doesn't usually apply.
@@NotKimiRaikkonen same here, been playing guitar for 18+ years so I do appreciate and respect the effort and skill that goes to being technical but technical doesnt always equal good musically
Except the difference is Jesse knows right when to throw in some straight bar chords 2:56 to give you a breath from the chaos, then right back in! That's artistry of Erra to me. They don't overdo it and keep a little bit of radio hook vibe in there.
@@evolross Ya, the songwriting on this album is out of control. I really hope Jesse does a playthrough of Shadow Autonomous... at first Divisionary was my favorite song but SA quickly overtook it.
@@danielhorton9929 I guess I'm lucky too. My best friend listens to all the same music as me. And I have a few other friends that listen to some of the same music, but some of the things we don't share.
i am seriously in love with this man's riff-writing skills. it's incredible yet seems so effortless, like it came to him the second he took the guitar into his hands. amazing as always.
Okay so we all know Jesse is a stud. But let's take a moment to appreciate Dana on the quality of these videos... That dude is a menace. He is also vocalist of the band Kingdom of Giants who are insane and you should checkout if you don't know who they are. Crazy talented dude.
I’ve tried to practice some of their songs,only to get amazed and frustrated at the same time cause Jesse’s riff writing sounds so musical and natural until you try to play it.After finding out how randomly yet complicated and unpredictable those riffs are composed,my brain melted every time...
I’ve listened to the self titled (this album) everyday since release. I think one of the greatest metalcore albums I’ve ever heard. The RPM (riff per minute) factor is off the charts.
Metal God Jesse of Erra , shatters the house of glass to small pieces , has a stellar vocal power ,beside his magnificent musical brain and flawless talent.
Love this song! It’s been amazing to see Jesse play through these last few songs. I would pay to see him do this with all their songs. Nothing beats seeing the artist play their music!
Jesse is one of the best guitarist of this era (no pun intended) and very underrated, in my humble opinion. His playing and writing styles just blow my mind and in their new album they went out of their comfort zone and it paid off in so many ways. 👏🙏🤘
Still can't stop listening to the album back to back,it's sublime and this level of playing is a massive part of why. Absolutely amazing use of rhythm and timing combined with insane chops. Love it,keep up the sublime work! 🤘
