By the way guy who wrote this song came 2nd in 2004 and 3rd in 2012 for Serbia and wrote the Serbian entry that came 6th in 2008. He is a Eurovision icon
Other Zeljko written or performed entries you should check out: S&M 2004, Bosnia 2006, and Serbia 2012. (you already reacted to Serbia 2008, also written by Zeljko, who also hosted that year)
My absolute favourite Montenegrin entry (also 2013) and one of my favourite balkan ballads of all time, I just love it so so much. I hope we can see Montenegro send more like this.
There is something I love about the former Yugoslavian countries: they usually sing in their own language and they believe and are almost true to their musical culture. When I say almost, it's because there has been a few «off-Balkan» - songs now and then. They are true to their musical style, and still can give us various songs out of it! It's impressing! I think this song is ok enough. 13th place? Well, ok, there are very strong songs in the top 10, so this year it's ok. I don't think you should look too much on the ranking from now on!
Jake, when girls dance with raised hands, that is part of traditional dance in Montenegro. called the ORO (now you know the meaning of the name song Jelena's Tomasevic, because traditional dance in Montenegro and Serbia called ORO or KOLO - (long story)) . You need to see the original dance - the perfect ... Thank you for this reaction ❤❤❤ Knez is a very popular singer for more than 20 years, not only in Montenegro, but also in Serbia and all Balkan.
Laki Srb 👍👍👍👍Brate,ništa bez našeg Balkana i naše muzike.Emocije i jezik,to je razlog što se ovom čoveku dopadaju sve pesme sa prostora ex-Yu.Pozzzdrav.
I didn’t fully appreciate this song back in 2015 but I absolutely love it now. That final chorus is everything ❤️ I wish this had been top 10 instead of Serbia.
I am from Serbia, and I love this song so much. Our Bojana has wonderfull voice, and she presented the song very good.We are the same people,so that's why we have great emotion.I love Montenegro.See you soon my lovely people in Bokokotorski zaliv.Jake you shoud come and see the beauty of Montenegro and Serbia.
What a masterpiece 😍😍 This performance never fails to give me goosebumbs!!❤ If you liked this, you should also react to their entry from 2014, "Moj Sviet" 😍❤ Such a magical song, and very similar to this one❤
2:50 This is `oro` dance, they spread arms like wings etc. Balkans has good ethno music, dances, voices and melodies, that in modern musical arrangements could sound catchy, cheerful and sad all in the same time. Also, has ever lasting melancholy thread, but never too dark. Thanks for videos Greetings from Belgrade
This was my favourite that year, and another example of a balcanic masterpiece by the great Željko Joksimović. You should check his other entries, but especially Lejla (Bosnia & Herzegovina 2006), which is the best balkan ballad and one of my all time Eurovision favourite songs.
Thank you for this reaction! I was waiting for you to get to this song:) i'm also hyped for you to get to other songs written by the same guy since you liked the two you've already heard (this and serbia 2008) and the best is yet to come! Željko is such a legend.
Zeljko Joksimovic, composed 5(as I know) songs for Eurovision: 2 for himself, 1 for his country with another artist, 1 for Bosnia and 1 for Montenegro. Only this Montenegro entry couldn't make it to top ten. The others got 2nd 3rd and 6th places respectively. Also Knez is a good singer, there's no doubt about his vocal talents.
You are being watched in Montenegro :) Greetings from one of the most beautiful countries in Europe! Thank you for the comments, glad you liked the song. I wonder what you'll think of Montenegro 2013. Igranka didn't qualify, but many people agree that it was underrated and unjustly didn't qualify after getting 4th place from the public.
Igranka is a great example of the Montenegrin attitude to send sometimes very gutsy acts to Eurovision. It's a big f-you to the audience. We don't care if we go to the finals or not, just let us have some fun or make some statement. And I mean this in a positive way. Adio of course is completely different case, it's a beautiful song ant totally deserves to be in the finals.
You said it perfectly. I see people often say in discussions that Montenegro is not taking the contest seriously, since we send acts like Rambo, Slavko or Highway, but actually if you think carefully that is exactly an indicator that we do care. Montenegro's history in ESC is short, yet we managed to send very diverse songs, atypical of what is being offered by other countries. I love Sweden very much, but we can agree that they keep sending songs in the same genre and they do not even try to experiment. We are also one of the rare nations which more often sings in our native language than in English which I generally believe is a plus. Songs like Adio or Moj Svijet are just an attempt from our delegation to appease the EU audience who otherwise shuns us because we are too small for anyone to care. In the end, we know that we are coming from an unfavored position each year due to our size (if Adio was a song coming from Sweden, or Russia lets say it would place way higher than 13), therefore we have nothing to lose except to go for it, hit or miss.
Both me and my teenagers loved the poetry-slam of Rambo Amadeus..but Europeans didnt get the intelligent humor of it. I also loved Highway and their experimental rock. Montenegro and Hungary is two of my favourite ESC country because you always surprise us. Greetings from Norway
I was there when it was announced he was in the final - the cheer was huge as it was their first entry. A good strong solid song that deserved qualifying.
Another masterpiece from Zeljko👋❤ 😲This moment when you realize you both know Zeljko and Dejan, (who wrote the lyrics) cause theyre both friends of my mother and were in school with her. Love from Serbia, to Montenegro and Jake, and all others who read this comment❤ PS: Btw if my english isnt the best, sry😂

the best Montenegrin Eurovision entry ever, the song is pure perfection.. so proud of Knez! love from Bosnia :)
Adio was good but I loved Montenegro 2014 better and it was the first Montenegrin entry to ever qualify and thus, it was a special one. But both are good!
One of my favourite esc songs, also Lane Moje and Lejla from the same composer. All could and should've been winner songs. I wonder if you have reacted to "Lejla" from 2006, Bosnia? If not, i request a reaction to the song Lejla by Hari Mata Hari. If you like this song, you'll like that one i'm pretty sure :D
so 2014 was the first time they qualify and we were happy about it. How did they top that? With a Zeljko written track! With Serbia going a different direction that year, it’s nice to hear a good Balkan midtempo track! To this date, it’s their best showing in the contest and my personal favorite from that country. (Okay, I get a good laugh over “Space” but this is seriously great!) Fun fact: Knez’ daughter performed backup with him! Nice! 👨👧 We’re getting closer to the top 10. It’s time for yet another overrated track from Azerbaijan!
Dan Frost It sounds like most people only seem to remember Russia and Sweden from 2015. I’m so glad I’ve taken the time to experience every country though.
You should search and listen to his songs when he was younger...he had long hair and wore leather pants 😁 But I love all of his songs, he is very popular in Serbia
Slavko was different and...unique kind of artist/performance. You want to know a performance that DIDN'T have it together? "Igranka" (ESC 2013). That song had so much potential, especially if you compare it to the music video. I'm still salty about the 2013 performance all these years later.
React to Spain 1995 plsssss was 2nd in the Grand Final. With this and Spain 2012 and Spain 2014 you can't understand why Spain didn't win since 50 years ago :(
Honestly one of the most bland and least interesting Balkan ballads out there. Something about the digital drum ruins whatever this song had going for it. Montenegro's 2014 entry is a better one.
