So right! Have ridden my -21 for 10,500 miles. It has everything I need. What I don't need is traction control or a number of different settings. No unnecessary forces that a computer needs to control. I will solve it myself.

I can see if I was doing more cross country riding I’d possibly want a bigger engine and then have a mode to dial it back for off-road vs street. However the Himalayan absolutely works for me for everything I need.

No questions as I have a 22 Himalayan and love it. Just glad to be the first to comment. Totally agree with your review. I plan to use my Himalayan to tour the country with as few interstate stints as possible. I want to see America, not billboards.

Sounds like a great plan and the best use of the bike. It’s capable of interstate travel but that’s definitely not what it was designed for! Hope you video your tour across the country, I’ll be your first follower!

I have a 22 also, I purchased the bike 4april23 and have 11k miles with zero issues. I've been riding since the 70s and this bike has been a joy. I changed exhaust levers and added viaterra bags and tank bag. I'm ready when you are let's go !

I like the ViaTerra bags a lot! I went with some more generic Sedici bags but they work great.

I only have a few issues with the Himalayan, and they’re probably not much different than many others but as long as you remember “why” you bought a RE and not a Kawasaki, Honda, KTM, etc, you’re gonna have a bike that’ll do point A to B. That’s what this bike is all about. Getting you out there. Nice job!! Your sound and video equipment works well!! Willie

Thanks Willie! Genuinely my only real issue with the REH is not whether it can do cross-country or long distance highway trips between off-road adventures but whether I have the time to only travel 70mph (at redline no less) making such a trip. Coming from a pro I appreciate the compliments! Your videos make it look easy sir! I’m still trying to get the right balance for sound at high speed.

@@actionmotorcycles My videos? lol 😂 I’m just a ham, I wing it… I Have fun with it, try to entertain and hopefully those who watch get something from it as well. You’re in a very “content worthy” area.. where I am in Va, not so much. Too much freakin’ pavement😝 I’d love to be where you are.. great scenery and places to ride. With all that, as long as you keep it entertaining while enjoying it yourself, don’t turn it into work, you’ll go a long way.. I started out with a fishing channel that has morphed in to an outdoors channel and my most watched video is on the Honda Monkey🤪😄… Most people watch RU-vid for “information” and if you’re lucky, they subscribe and follow. Doing the “outdoor thing” on a motorcycle will keep people watching. I do a little bit of everything, so I understand there’s videos people will watch and some that won’t get watched as much.. but I’m totally cool with that. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, my opinion means squat😆, but you’ve got a good foundation.. Willie

Waiting for the 450. Moving to a country with terrible roads, so selling my 1200cc Triumph Speedmaster for a lower cc ADV. I also own a BMW f800gs which I will also sell. Great bike, but the Himalayan is less than half the price of a BMW, and they have a dealership in the town I'm retiring to, whereas both BMW and Triumph are an island away :)
@actionmotorcycles
@actionmotorcycles 11 месяцев назад
Best of luck to you! There’s certainly been a lot of talk about the 450 for years and now it seems so close to reality. Personally I’m reserving judgement until I can get a test ride and look at the price tag. The big selling point for me with the 411 Himalayan is the value - you get so much for such a low price. My fear is the 450 will be high enough in price that I’ll just want a KTM 390 Adventure instead. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
@rabukan5842

@@actionmotorcycles Yes, we will soon see. If the price rise is too high, the value drops precipitously. In that case, back to Triumph or BMW for me :) Good luck to you too!

Went to my local Royal Enfield dealership yesterday. The charge for freight added over $500, plus $1275 for dealer prep. Not sure how realistic these fees are, or if the dealership just wants higher profits. Anyway, I was turned off and left without further inquiry.
@actionmotorcycles
@actionmotorcycles 11 месяцев назад
Yeah, don’t know what to say there other than that wasn’t really my experience. To be honest I probably would have been willing to pay that price still because the other big selling point for me was the warranty. Good luck finding the right bike for you!

Firstly great bud bud I appreciate it greatly having said that … Question … Would you be happy with this as your only bike to commute to play to tour to go get muddy having recently passed my full bike licence here in the Uk 🇬🇧 I was immediately drawn to this bike have yet to test ride one but wow this seems to me to be the perfect bike I love the retro feel the heritage and the simplicity of this bike my only qualm is would it be enough as my only bike
@actionmotorcycles
@actionmotorcycles 11 месяцев назад
Great question! It’s a tough one to answer frankly because everyone’s situation is different. I have two bikes and my set up works perfectly for me as it fits my budget and between the two I get everything I need. I will say if I was looking to do a lot of long distance touring I would at least be considering other bikes with a bit more highway power. However, the RE could absolutely do it. I did a 7 hour ride on it this past weekend with 3.5 of that being at 70+ mph. It’s absolutely everything I need off-road. I have used it as a commuter as well. I suppose my advice would be: given the low price point, why not give it a shot and see for yourself. You’re a new rider, it will keep you from going ‘full squid’ and if you find it’s not giving you what you need you can always trade up. Definitely worth a test ride, that’s a no-brainer. Best of luck, let me know what you decide and what the results are! (Also please subscribe if you haven’t already!)

Great review. I've heard great reviews of how this handles off roads but equally bad ones on highway riding...you will have no option sometimes to do highways @120kmph and it seems this will be pretty unstable to ride. Unless you put this on a trailer till u go off road. Any experience? Thoughts on that
@actionmotorcycles
@actionmotorcycles 11 месяцев назад
Absolutely I do have experience with the highway. IMO it’s not a question of stability. The bike feels stable at 70mph no problem (at least to me). The only issue is when you need some power on the highway to change lanes or avoid an unforeseen traffic issue it’s just not there at 70mph. At high speed you’ll get to 75 or 78 ‘eventually.’ So what I would say is the bike is *capable* on the highway but that’s not where it impresses. Hope this helps! Please like and subscribe if you haven’t already!

Yeah well... It's still not a Harley Davidson! And that's like comparing a VW Beetle to a Mercedes Benz or a Lexus! In my opinion! 😎
@actionmotorcycles
@actionmotorcycles 7 месяцев назад
Lol no the RE is certainly not an HD… I don’t think I actually made that comparison in the video. Just wait, in a couple weeks I’m going to literally compare it to a Ducati Desert X and really stir the pot! Thanks for watching!
