I taught three to five year olds for many years and can say that your boys are some of the best behaved, helpful and good-natured little ones I have seen!! My father remarked on how careful Jack was near the china and how well he listened when he was told to put the lid back on one of the pieces! Really amazing!! We all love your vlog!

🤔 Don't quite understand the drive to make such competitive comparisons. There is enough room in the world for both DIY cable & vloggers. 🛠 I respect Dan & Annalise renovating an ancient structure for their own family homestead in a foreign country. 📲They put out a fun blog on their weekly activities too. 💲Proving you can do a lot on a shoe string budget with two adults who possess ingenuity & perseverance. The fact they juggle🍼parenthood & other jobs is even more amazing. 🌟HGTV has some entertaining & well-produced shows. I tune in & out. It depends on programming. Just not interested in a steady diet of house hunters or flippers at this moment. ☮Peace 💛Love 🌼Beauty

As someone has already suggested, why not get people from Stephanie and Michael P.’s chateaux to help out with the promise of a chef’s slap up meal? With a few people and the right equipment it would take no time at all. What you have already achieved in the kitchen is amazing. The idea of a Christmas meal in that environment is wonderful. Your patience and endurance in tackling the most daunting of tasks does you both major credit. And I have to comment on your lovely wee boys and their absolutely stunning eyelashes! I would kill for those eyelashes. Just sayin’.

@@user-cm2ky8hv6o I think there amazing. Annalise is a fantastic mother who talks to her children and involves them in everything. She’s so calm and the boys listen and understand so much for their age, Dan is just a fearless grafter and genuinely a nice guy, fab dad and there’s nothing not to like about this family. They genuinely love each other and want the best for their family. Without RU-vid you know they would of worked threw the struggles renovating regardless. I genuinely love this family so much when all I see is broken families like myself around their age and kids on tablets with bad attitudes. ❤️

That insulation system seems very good and I hope it will keep you lovely and warm this winter time. I’ve been thinking about the lighting in the kitchen, I know you want chandeliers in there, but what about adding the thin LED strip lighting along the length of the beams? You could just run them on the tops of the beams and it would give off a warm glow! Plus you can change the colours for party’s!

Tony BellCanyon the thought of LED strips is to add a new dept to the overall lighting, which would not take up anymore space or impose itself on the already beautiful wood and stone

Might be too much, too modern for them. Although I agree, it can look really smart done right. 💡Can't speak for Brits, but most Americans are not all that savvy about layering light (ambient, accent, task). They put in a lamp or change a light bulb & figure they're done😉.

Hi Dan. I live in a country with much colder winters than France and the modern thing to do here is to apply continuous poly (plastic) on the inside of the roof and walls (the heated side of the room) to act as a vapour barrier (and then the 'plaster board'/gyprock is applied over the plastic sheets). An older method that may still be used in some cases is to use batts of insulation with a paper on one side. That paper acts as a vapour barrier, but it also is basically continuous. I'm just wondering how your insulation will work and with the existing aluminum foil on the other side will it trap moisture there and render the insulation less effective because it may get damp from cooking, etc.? Just curious.
