Escaping Jehovah's Witnesses: Emotional Control 

Until you're out, you don't realize how much perpetual guilt you were constantly feeling as a JW. Getting out was the best thing for my mental health.

Brandy, thank you for posting this video. If the elders bother you again, call the police. I told the elders here if they bothered me I would call the authorities and give names and addresses to them. Don’t be afraid of those disgusting false men.

A beautiful testimony and this hits home for me. I’ve been out for over 30 years now. What I learned from being a witness and leaving is, never become one!

My wife died of cancer 30 years ago, she left me all her thoughts in a book she wrote in, one of the things she said was, she was in my way to progressing in the congregation. I wonder now if the elders had be pressing ,saying things to her about that. She was wonderful, i loved her so much. She was ill over 10 years with cancer.

Your videos feel healing . 💜 My parent’s were not attending meetings much and my father was talked to about it . I remember my mom didn’t feel up to going, so she stayed home with my little brother . My dad took my older sister and myself to a Sunday meeting . I probably was around 8 years old and I will never forget that day . Just as we were exiting the hall doors the elders took my dad away . My paternal aunt’s took us outside to wait with my cousins . I remember it was a hot day and I was hungry. I just wanted to get out of my dress and dress shoes to play . I had to stand around in the heat while my aunt’s were whispering. It felt like a principal took my dad away to punish him. I found out later on he was counseled on being a bad head of household, because we were not attending enough. We were getting ready to move several hours away , so my parents didn’t go back to that hall. The elder told my parent’s that if they went to a new congregation when moved they needed to meet with the elder’s first . The elder’s would need to check their spirituality before attending . I’m always excited to watch your videos when you post . 💕

They called you withing 24 hours, so they could dig and find out what is going on. The gossip pool, within the org, is staggering. That Elder was assigned to do his detective work. We had some similar things happened, after we faded. We did not play into their games. Never met with them and never will. I love how you responded to your Dads question. "I'm sure he will understand." He did not expect that answer. When you figure out how JW's "play the game", you finally get it. YOU have figured it out! So many are! So good to see you ! I was born and raised a Jehovah’s Witness. My mother was one back in 1948 right after my third two my oldest brother was born. I was born in 53. I was in high school I was told I couldn’t have a girlfriend she wasn’t a Jehovah’s Witness I could only date them. But nobody was interested in me. Because I was slow because I was different. It was hard for me to get talks. People had to help me. I was in special education. After quitting high school in the 10th grade I went to work and in 1974 I picked up a guitar And I’ve been playing since 1974. I am now 70 years old I’ve lost a fiancé and 2022 and a wife in 1996 the same year my mother passed away. Playing guitar is a great way to ease my mind. I have a photogenic memory, and it takes me a long time to learn a song but when I learn it I never forget it. Being a witness has taught me how to treat people show love and kindness even toward the world. I’m a very lonely, very shy person. My mother didn’t let me date and I think that’s my problem. Both morally emotionally. It’s hard sometimes to deal with my emotions and my true feelings. Sometimes it’s hard to get by in life. I hope the best for you. I can’t say really too many bad things about the witnesses. I’ve been out of the organization since 1974. That’s a long time. Yes it was always do more give more jehovah knows if your giving your best and if we slack of and someone dies that we could have preached to then we are blood guilty then we won't get through to paradise if that person dies That's what was drummed into our heads daily...

Blessings. There is a difference between 'love' and real love, and a 'church' and a real church. My little church does't insert itself as a stumbling block between members and God. It lets them grow and live in God as the unique God-creations they are. My church is simply a little community of friends that God brought into my life.

They only have as much power as you give them. You can simply not talk to them. Having served at the highest levels of WT, I intimately know the extent of their reach.

I have at least 5 letters against me, they say I'm guilty but it's all hearsay, yet I'm not allowed to see what is said. 2 Elders interviewed my Catholic Wife in hiding behind my back, had her give them my phone records, financial statements and who know what else was going on. We do not even know just how low these Elder's will go to hurt someone they target. They had my wife turn over some of my possessions to them when I was locked out of my rental. Stole my things, one servant who assisted them asked if I was going to charge them at the County Sherriffs. File charges. This Organisation is tracking their members social and private lives on the Internet, without permission. Just like any murdered High Control Cult does. They either own you both emotionally or most if all Financially. Just review the YAWEH CULT in Florida history of serial killers.

Fortunately I wasn’t born in, but the residual trauma is still there. Mostly I feel free, and they can go fly a kite.

So nice to see you again 🩵 In ref to the very first part of this video, could the reason your father promised you protection from disfellow-shipping be because you have a lot of “influence” on the membership through your association w Stephen Lett, therefore, for you to be disfellowshipped might be construed as if someone “in the royal family” (sorry) were to question authority, it may plant a seed of curiosity in the minds of the masses?

Seems so many ExJW's suffer similar traumatic experiences. All that Guilt.. Leaving nearly "unalived" me. My whole Identity was tied to it from birth. The lack of self esteem and confidence lasts for so long, in addition to losing family, spouse, associates your support group.. it's insane. But Life goes on.. You start on the the path of creating yourself and living a fuller life. Don't give up any ExJW's reading this.

It wold be great if I had a friend like you in any stage of my life. I was dfs twice for mental health reasons. 85% of my Cong is related by marriage. I am a West Coast Kid at has been stuck in MN for the last 27 years. In a Cong that wants nothing to do with my family unless it is a group party where we have to buy gifts for people. Rarely a one on one with my family. No help after 2 pregnancies, 3 Miscarriages, 4 Major surgeries, 2 people ever brought food during that time. I call NO JOY!. NO LOVE! I Lived what your saying too!

Brandy you have been so brave to share these details about your disfellowshipping. I went through simiular situation having to "tell" my story to 3 elders who I had known since I was a child. Very emotionally damaging. This trauma stays with all of us who have left for our entire life.

The gossip is fierce I went on a holiday to New Yorker and a circuit overseer was told and he started shouting on the platform saying Some people go to newyork looking for happiness he looked strait at me and said Maby you have enough all ready I was 50 years old and a first time on an aeroplane so it’s gossip and Begrugery it very difficult 😥

I was born in… very fanatical, a lot of high achievement in the organisation. Dad was the coordinator of body of elders and WT study conductor. We had the group study and fieldservice at our house. My cousins Bethelites, missionaries, pioneers etc. My Uncle was elder and the caretaker of an assembly hall. Everything we did was for the org. On a personal note I was baptised at 11. I’m transgender so I was born female and it never ever felt right but no matter how much I prayed they were not answered. I wasn’t permitted to live my life cos this isn’t “the real life.” My sexual orientation after puberty was really difficult and I began to hate my body and hate myself. I got diagnosed with a brain tumour at 14 and my life got turned upside down. I fought that quite successfully for over a decade and some 13 brain operations. I was on a disability pension with not much to look forward to except the new system which was coming very soon. I was encouraged not to look for work but use my pension to assist me to do more for the congregation. It took me till the age of 34 to finally break. I called the elders and told them I needed to medically transition and I wanted to know if there was scriptural reason to prevent me. This uncovered so many lies and manipulations even threats of losing all of my friends and family. Well that did it, I transitioned and I have never been happier. I’m not disfellowshipped but everyone shunned me regardless …. On principal. How dare I not wait on Jehovah to fix me. I’m 42 now. I’m married to a gorgeous woman and I’ve spent the last 3 years battling stage 4 breast cancer. If I’d had them removed sooner and transitioned I wouldn’t have it. It’s oestrogen based and I have the braca 2 gene mutation. I feel soooooo ripped off, deceived, duped. The entire foundation of my being was BS and that’s been a struggle to face but it can be done and once you get your mind free you will only want to focus on the beautiful life you have now. It’s light and relaxed and interesting even enjoyable. Who knew? 😂. I’m keen to help other

Fifteen years ago, I left the Jehovah's Witnesses. I'm either disassociated or considered apostate. Why? Because I turned to Jesus as my only Lord and Savior, not the archangel Michael as the Witnesses teach. Jesus, is the ONLY Door and ONLY Master of salvation appointed by the Father. No organization or earthly authority can stop us from God's love and mercy which is in the grace of Jesus Christ. Despite our struggles, he assures us, 'my grace is sufficient' to overcome obstacles by clinging to the fruits of the Holy Spirit, a gift that the Witnesses claim only a select few can receive, yet Jesus promised the helper to all believers in John 8:12, the 'The Light of Life.' Jesus alone is the perfecter of our faith, not the WatchTower.

Every society has a hierarchy we are expected to climb or achieve rank, position or title in. It is called upward mobility. Even in the world, women select their men on the basis of social status. This behavior is normal and universal. The organization is a microcosm within - but separate from - the world or global cosm. Everyone was born in one, whether we like it or not. Look at the view of Jesus, just two small coins, i wonder if she had been in the congregation today, how would she be view and treated by everyone, not doing much at all, not pioneering, just two small coins, Now look at her reward from Jesus, 1And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, 2and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites.[a] 3So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; 4for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings [b]for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.” Jesus see are worth, just like the poor widow. We do not need the elders approval to be pleasing to God. Back then no one at all ever noticed the poor widow, but Jesus and his father, its the same today, your notice. God bless you

I wonder how Jehovah's Witnesses find these videos. It is forbidden for any Jehovah's Greetings fromm Vienna😊 Witnesses to read anything about "apostates"!!! I think that those who think so should also be excluded 😀

KEEP IT SIMPLE AND FOCUS ON THE ONE TOPIC THAT DESTROYS THEIR ORGANIZATION ! Jesus was worshipped 10 times in the KJV New Testament ! 10 TIMES !! All 4 gospel writers record Jesus being worshipped !! Jesus received that worship , and can’t be an angel !!!

Repent. Return to Jehovah. The congregations aren’t perfect, they’re being used to fulfill Jesus’s prophecy at Mt 24:14. So many lies and misrepresentations of Jehovah’s Witnesses on the internet. Satan as the angel of light has made these apostate allegations seem almost to be true…they’re not.
