Hi and welcome to back to the next instalment on the Restoration of my Ford Escort RS Turbo S2.
In this video I tackle the rear of the inner cill and install the inner wheel arch plus with a minor issue with the welder.
I’m pleased with the progress that has been made so far, and I must apologise for the long break between the last video and this one.

Hi as an electrician the 13amp welders are all 2 Bob it’s all about the 16amp radial circuit. Love the content. I’m hoping to purchase my series 2 soon S

Nice work. Good to see the project continuing. New MIG looks like a good unit. Nice consistent frying sound when the arc fires up. I couldn't get on with those panel clamp/spacers - they seemed to produce a gap that was over 1mm. I reckon the tabs could do with being thinner by 0.25mm.

much better result with the new welder 👍arches are a nightmare to do with so many things to check and keep an eye on, just need to check the outer sill clears the mid section you fabricated before you weld it it place, looking good 😎

I really need to replace my SIP Migmate 130. One day the settings are right on the money but go back to it the next day using the same settings on the same thickness of metal and it will throw its toys out. Very frustrating.

I have an autoplus 180st version & it's similar. I got fed up with it yesterday & wheeled a spare Sealey 180 over from the other workshop - which confirmed that it is the machine & not my imagination.

Hi Sid, yes there is loads to do but I’m enjoying doing it👍. If you mean the metal section with the two largish holes in, I made that with a sheet metal folder.

That is the original one on the car Sid. It was solid so I cleaned it up and gave it a coat of weld through primer.

@@ModernClassics81 bugger was hoping you was going to say yer got that panel from a panel supplier. Have to keep looking or make a panel. You was lucky normally completely gone there
