Back in the day when REAL street racing was a thing we didn't race for money, if aything at the most 100$, but these kids nowadays have changed that, I guess they want to feel like the big ballers when all they did was bolt on a supercharger kit to a mustang. Back in the day the big bets were reserved to actual shops. I guess nowadays with how easy adding horsepower to your car is anyone can get into pretending to like cars and its just a matter of who spends more $ instead of who knows how to do stuff right and that attracts these rich kids that just go and buy a plaid and want to feel like the street racer but don't know how to change a tire.
You are totally correct Back in the 90's when we raced it was more about bragging rights.and if we did bet some money,about 5 of us would come up with 20 bucks,and race for 100.so nobody had to worry about betting they life savings on a race.

Back in the day you could have a full night of racing at a spot without trouble, now all the kids gotta post it to their social media so spots get burnt quick and cops show up, and then you got these idiots that show up in the same copy and paste cars lol everyone has a fking mustang or a challenger with the same fking boltons, lazy way of doing shit. Back in the day people NEVER showed their engine bay and we all said "stock" when someone asked what we had.

GT500s very limited, trans heats up after a couple pulls since that DCT can’t be tuned & can’t really turn it up past like 12 lbs from what the owner told me
yea because there's a huge aftermarket for the Plaid. That's one of the reasons EV's suck. Every one is the same so it has no personality in a build. You are just as fast as anyone else who has one. Sounds fun when your car hobby is step 1 buy a car.........done.
