Thank you for the great video! My car is as old (and as japanese) as the GC8 Impreya, so bodyflex and weak brakes are an issue here. I didn't really get (even if I stopped the video) a good picture of the brake heat stickers. How do I find it in your shop? And how do I use them? :-D Do they go on the disc? Aren't they too big?
These type of videos are excellent and once again reminds people that Horsepower isn't everything. I could listen to Oleg and Misha talk about upgrades for hours. Maybe next video about some Euro Hatchback?
As a subaru owner i could not be more happy to see this, i already have big part of essential mods on my car but i can say a fact about brakes: Front sumitomo 4 pot calipers are used on early r32 gtr, 300zx tt and s14 silvia, all of this cars are heavier than imprezas so the size of the brakes are not the problem, the problem is their construction material, iron and the pots gets rusted and blocked in the caliper with time and you end having only 2 or less pots working. I rebuild them a few years ago with stainless steel pistons and never had a problem with brakes anymore with a propper pad, lines and fluids of course!
I thought I knew nearly everything about Subaru's and tracking a car, but I learnt a lot more about the weakness of Subaru and tracking in general. This can be applied to other older cars. Thank you for this awesome treasure of information!
Another top quality bit of Carmrade RU-vid content! My favourite vlogs of yours are always the in depth ones with mechanics and components or talking with Robert etc. Thanks Misha 👍😎
45:26 That controller has had a conformal coating bath. They definitely over did a bit there. Otherwise another very informative video and to the point where I genuinely hadn't noticed It was almost 50 minutes long. Great Job Guys!
This was great, really informative. Good to see the recommended order in which you should upgrade the parts too. An Evo vid like this would be amazing!!
Interesting video but RaR have 6 pot brakes from factory...agree with bushings and the rear brace upgrades... otherwise the RaR is trackable from fractory ?
I absolutely loved this episode, I have two 2004 Subaru Forester XT's with STI upgrades, and just recently installed a KEIN Fabrication (a company located in the Russian Federation) Rear Strut Tower V-Brace (I think its more an X Brace) which is very similar to the Cusco type OS V-Brace you show, and WOW did that make the biggest difference in the way the car handles. My other Forester has coilover, swaybars, and tires, but the V-Brace made the absolute biggest difference even on a nearly stock suspension (this car only has subframe lockdown bolts, rear sway bar, front sti control arm bar, KEIN Fab V-Brace, KEIN Diff Brace, and KEIN Trunk Brace. It wasn't easy to bend my car back into shape after 16.5 Years of twisting and bending itself out of shape, but my Wife and I managed!
Supercool video M & O. I remember when the first gen Impreza was for sale. It was only 50K guilders/gulden (about 24K Euros) for a street legal rally car. Damn amazing back then!
another Australian company, GFB (Go Fast Bits) design make their own blow off valves and many other turbo system goodies. Also Haltech, they make fully programmable engine management units, harnesses, extra I.O. ports and digital dash clusters that are beginning to get market world wide because of how good they are.
and I think Olek (I dont know if I got his name correct, sorry about it), continue to film that series along with you, his english is gonna improve alot within no time.
Thank you Misha and Atomic shop! Now I'm aware that NOT to buy the Impreza that I wan't so bad. Everyone is telling me it's a problem car, you will not find in good condition and etc. With so much things to do, even most of these are essentials for road use, better have something new and modern than this "exotic JDM". Thank you for the great content.
I had a few and loved tracking them, for me my favorite mod was a quicker steering rack, standard steering just turns in a bit slow. And sorry, but loved the pssssshhhht ❤️😂
I had the same problem on my lancer before I changed the engine mounts, it's an automatic sadly but still during acceleration and turning it would take a long time to shift, and it was that bad that if you'd concentrate you could feel the engine moving. Inexpensive repair that saves lots of money later on.
Great vid Misha ! Love the scoobys ! Nearly bought the RB320 many years ago but ended up with a B5 RS4 ! Still regret that sometimes especially when something breaks and costs so much ! RS tax !
30:40 this plate does not prevent oil from going left and right. It "scrapes" off the cloud of oil that develops around crank shaft. The baffles { the special little walls} that are built inside the killer b oil pan do prevent oil from sloshing side to side. IAG came out with the best wet sump oil kit in 2021 for Subaru.
I like these kind of tech videos. Would also be cool if you build something new like back in the day with the Scooby. You and Oleg should build the Russian Rocket :W Hopefully I can stop by this year with one of my current projects!
Hi Misha, So usefull vidéo, i'm from France and i would very pleased before coming to the ring to have a vidéo like this one for HONDA TYPE R FK2 / FK8. Thanks a lot, Cheers, Richard
dayum, watching this in depth Impreza mods could make me that "purist" that you mentioned in the previous video... know everything what to do to improve an sti but never gonna own/buy it (just a keyboard warrior)... =D LOL. Great informative video BTW.
You can change the plugs In 45 minutes when you do it all the time, there's a few tricks and it's a prick of a job but when you know the average person can do it in not much over an hour 👍
Hey Misha, what a great video! I would appreciate movie like this connected to bmw 1er (e82/e87) or 3er (e90,e92) chassis. Also maybe separate episode for suspension components, coliovers, antirollbars, polybushes, etc... Thanks :)
ive been looking for smthn like this.. I want to mod my 2012 wrx but focus more on the handling before i worry about hp increases and u guys def know what you're talking about
The RA-R black edition? They all have black seats, not much to upgrade on that car, it already performes amazingly! That RA-R could be the one that was in Russia.
Misha! How can you make a Volkswagen Transporter/Caravelle track ready? Great to mod å transporter/Caravelle for å trip and also bring it to Apex and Nürburg
Есть один вопрос который меня волнует - как этот тюнинг легализовать в Германии, насколько я понимаю тут действует достаточно жесткая регуляция со стороны TÜV и DEKRA. Михаил подскажи пожалуйста
