We literally have the same story!! I graduated high school with the idea that I wanted to be a dental hygienist. I then spent 2 years in community college and realized how bored and uninterested I was. Now I’m 22 starting my medical esthetician journey! Wish you the best of luck in your career!

This video is literally the answers to everything I was needing to hear. I’m going through the same thing with my family being confused as to what I want to do, I kept battling whether I should just go get a degree first and then come back to esthetics. This was the answer to my prayersss😭🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Your videos has been so great for me to hear!! I’m a licensed cosmo and been doing hair for a year, I’ve always wanted to do skin but I went with hair route first, total regrets wished I did skin first! I’ve decided to go back to school for esti school, and I can’t wait to start my journey!

Congrats on the marriage! I do feel like I learn a lot from your videos. There’s not a lot of fluff here, just solid good experience to relate. And don’t apologize for being “ too long” or moving your arms. Honestly, you’re being too self conscious. And, personally, I hardly look at the video. I listen while I’m doing other stuff. Maybe others watch & get annoyed by arm movement but I don’t. But I do appreciate your content, your delivery & your cute hat. Thanks Emma!

Thank you for being so informative and transparent on this subject. You also have such a sweet personality. + Please don't apologize for anything - it's YOUR channel! Ignore the rude people who leave negative comments... If they don't like something, all they have to do is click off. 🤷‍♀️ Can't believe some of the things people will complain about while choosing to watch something that's free. Makes no sense. 🤦 I hope you'll make more esthetician-related videos. I've been interested in esthetics since I was in high school (ten years ago 😂) but never went for it out of the fear of not making enough financially. I have a job which I'm grateful for, but I'm still trying to figure out a career path that I'm genuinely passionate about. Your videos help! 💜

Did you need to do electrolysis first to get your laser certification? Because I live in Florida and they require us to do electrolysis first in order to do the laser certification

Hey Emma! I have a question, I live in Arizona and want to be an esthetician. There exists another school in AZ called IMAJ Institute, that offers a blended program for laser safety officer certification and estheticIan license, 600+150hrs, 10000+10000 dollars=20k total, would THAT be worth it? Imaj seems highly rated and just as in depth and practical as the place you went to, but with a hybrid program. I am strongly leaning towards the medical aesthetics route, just wondering if you would recommend doing aesthetics separately first, work for awhile, and then go back to school or do this hybrid program. I have excellent credit score and could probably get an amazing interest rate for the whole 20k.

I’m currently in Ohio. Hate it here though. Lol will finish esti school in Oct 2021. And plan to move to Indiana, my goal is to work in a plastic surgeons office!

did you take courses to do hydra facials? Is hydra facial its own cert? Or did you learn at the plastic surgeon office that you work at? What about dermaplaning and chemical peels, are all of these separate certifications and separate classes you need to take?

Hi Emma, I just got an advanced esthetic license in Nevada. I am currently licensed here as a cosmetologist but am actually a cocktail server here because the pay is awesome. I've been in hospitality for over ten years now. What in your opinion is the best way to gain experience in lasers. Should I go to a place that has late hours so I can work when no one else does 😊. I know it sounds funny, but I like working late hours and many girls don't, I catch on pretty fast. Should I work for free or possibly barter a service once a month at the place I trained at? I'm use to having a clientele and have no problem building a business. I'm wondering if I should work 3x a month to get started in the biz at a local laser place that has longer hours. Unfortunately I live in California and the requirements for Botox and laser tech can only be done by a nurse or doctor. So I wouldn’t be able to make a good income here :(

Hi! Do you (anyone reading this) feel you need to look a certain way to be an esthetician? I feel all these estheticians on YT are all so beautiful and it’s so intimidating. I know many will say... it’s about what you can offer, but I still worry about not landing a job just because I will need to compete with a more beautiful person.

Depends on where you work. Spas not so much, you just have to look presentable. Waxing doesn't matter, you just got to look clean lol. Medical estheticians I believe looks do truly matter. Just from personal experience all of them have been really pretty.
