The Furnace Minecart pushes you just fast enough to be able to mine the farm. You could set up a track and can break the items on the first pass and collect them when you return.

That elytra glitch happens to me a lot in the nether. Oddly never got it in the overworld. Hitting shift/sneak seems to cancel it. As far as I can tell, the client thinks you're flying but the server doesn't (single player still has the same server/client distinction for the most part).

This is why I love watching Etho. He doesn't make these videos for the profits. He makes them to educate, and entertain his viewing audiance. Even when I get bored with a video (which is very rare) I always enjoy hearing what he has to say.

You are one of the few minecrafters that i still follow, this thanks to the way you manage your channel and content, i appreciate that you stay true to your ideals by offering quality content, i wish the best to you and your channel.

I had an idea for the collection system. What if the path you were walking on was trapdoors, with the hinge against the block the ice was on. Normally they would be closed, but when you get to the block in between ice sections, you'd step on a pressure plate that opens the trapdoors of the section you were just on. So as you collected ice, it flowed onto the path, but every few blocks you walk they would get dropped into a water steam below the path. The only limitation would be that you'd have to start from the same place each time, but overall I think that's a small price to pay for a near lossless collection system (also the reason the hinges are close to the ice is because the speed from the water will launch them further back than the hinge's thickness, meaning they shouln't every get caught)

Etho, I just saw that 10 year video, and I commented there but I am not sure you will see it there. I just wanted to say thank you for everything you have done with these videos. I have gone through hardships, and still do go through them, in the past 10 years. I've dealt with a lot of stuff and still am dealing with it, but when you upload a video and I watch it. You never fail to bring joy into my life. Nothing has been stable for me, really, except you. Your videos (and a couple other youtuber's videos) have been there for me for a very long time and I am not sure where I would be if you weren't doing what you are doing. Thank you SO very much, Etho. Just thank you.

Etho has by far the most supportive fan base I've ever seen. I've outgrown many a phase or interest, but I've been watching Etho from the beginning and I think I always will. Never stop making videos Etho!

The big projects you work on are the main reason I watch you over all of the other minecraft let's plays. They're what makes you cool and unique. I'd rather have (like we have now) fewer episodes with more interesting big projects than more episodes with basic content. And I think that goes for most of your audience as they've grown over the years.

Hey Etho, you should definitely use Opened trap doors for the ice farm have them against the side of the farm with the ice, you could even add redstone to close to trap doors so you can walk on them, or you could keep them open all the time and just walk along them, hope this helps, also hope it comment gets seen.

Etho in the ice farm you can use a macro that registers time and you can time how long you go right and left so when the slime block launches you the macro chooses the other side. The fact that you made the farm perfect rectangles will help you do that. it sounded very interesting in my mind so i thought you might like it

ahhh the sound of thousands of ice blocks being broken, it's exactly what my headache asked for!

Suggestions for the ice farm: 1) Put a hopper minecart underneath the path you walk, it will gather up all the ice no problem. 2) Rather than a solid wall of waterlogged half-slabs, swap out each dispenser for a waterlogged half-slab, and put solid blocks in between. That will still provide ice seeds, and negate the need for dispensers. That said, I like the dispensers - clicky, nice sounding... makes the machine a little more intricate IMO.

Ergo! You say you do alot of off camera stuff, you should Livestream it and make q&a's in streams etc. What's your view on it?

Etho! Why not just use open trapdoors as platforms for walking when farming the ice? I'm certain it'll prevent any ice from getting stuck anywhere.

You're the only minecraft channel that still has their dignity in my opinion. I appreciate how you refuse to treat your channel like it's a career, you make videos because you enjoy it, and your content is some of the best in the community because of it. It's never something that I really thought twice about, it was just common sense to me, but hearing that rant made me realize how underappreciated your actually are. Thank you for not being another clickbait channel, I don't even like minecraft and I'm still watching your videos because of how much I love you're personality.

I think in the end though not playing the youtube games has worked out for this channel. The community has built around the content and not clickbait and so we all keep coming back because that's what we're here for

22:35 i disagree, what I think is happening is with the concrete powder, the falling sand entity hits the slab and breaks, while the block is required to exist in water before it changes, thus returning concrete powder. With the ice, based on your rule that ice cannot form when only next to water, and based on information so far about waterlogged blocks, both water and the block exist in that block. So despite there being slabs, the game checks if the water block is surrounded by water (Which it is), and checking for seed blocks is a separate question. So both conditions would need to be met (Which they aren't), hence no freeze. I don't think the game is making decisions between how waterlogged blocks should be treated, that seems nonsensical and inefficient; every situation would need to be hard coded.

As for the Ice farm's collection, you could use trap open trap doors on the wall for you to stand on, but the momentum of the water would push them over past the trapdoors into whatever storage system you want.

I don’t like that you decided to change your video format Etho. You dumbed down and practically spoon-fed the information to me. Like, seriously, I’ve known that Minecraft exists for like seven years now. _I know what redstone does!_ What kind of title even is “I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS REDSTONE PROJECT EXISTS!?! 😂😭😳😱”? Also how could Kakashi even have a question mark _in his Sharingan?_ His Magenkyō doesn’t even look like that. Honestly Etho, get it together. I can’t eat _any_ of my snacks in only freakin’ five minutes.

I think the reason that shulker boxes do the trapdoor thing but sand doesn't is becasue the shulker boxes don't actually change their blockstate, just their render state. Sand falling would change the blocks in the world, so it doesn't happen.

Hey you should use trapdoors! You can place a lot of trapdoors instead of glass panes and once you finish farming you can power all the trapdoors and all the ice falls down
