Etihad Stadium Expansion Update
For months now, work has been going on in Manchester for the redevelopment of the Etihad Stadium. The pace of work is fast, where the main foundations of the stand and the entire project have been built.
The project includes several connected all-weather facilities, fully integrated into the stadium, centered around an enlarged north stand with a larger, single upper tier above the existing lower level, increasing capacity to over 60,000.

While I’m a stadium geek- this effort looks quite bolted on and not exactly aesthetically pleasing. Maybe in reality it will complement the existing stadium but it could end up looking a bit like Chelsea Village. Which is a bit naff from the exterior

Once they eventually get around to expanding the side stands (to line up with the end stands) then it will look like a perfect 70K+ stadium.

Looks like a bolted on shopping mall. Should have built it separate elsewhere and kept the stadium symmetrical. Plus of course the issue of how many tickets are going to have to be free to 'sell out' 60,000...
