Check out Eufy's NEWEST *Video* Smart Door Lock - eufy-video-smart-lock.kckb.st/83403322. That's right a smart door lock with a built in camera. How cool is that?
@@ModernDayTech d aqara i had ordered the eufy but im pretty bummed the 2way talking does not work on homekit and plus i already have aqara smart home accessories
Great vid, just bought the Aqara cam through your affiliate link. Black Friday deal for $50. Wanted a homekit cam to play with, but not break the bank. Do you see Thread tech being integrated into future homekit cams?
Awesome. Thank you! You're getting a great camera at an amazing price. I do see more thread products coming out but I'm not sure about camera support. I'm not sure if it can handle the bandwith, but I'll ask my contact to see what he thinks and I'll get back to you if he thinks it can. On the other hand, I can see camera like the Aqara that are also a hub become boarder routers for other thread products just like how this one is hub for Aqara child devices via zigbee 3.0. I don't know if it will need new hardware or if Aqara can do just a firmware update, thats still unknown.
3:11 when we are doing outdoor recording for possible crime, with the sd card installed on the machine, the suspect/criminal can just remove the sd card from the camera leaving you only the cloud base back up. all I am saying is even with the sd card it is not safe unless everything is stored in the cloud or somewhere else that is hard to reach(like a security room or so).
Yes, both of these have HKSV cloud storage in addition to the 24/7 recording on the SD card slots. It's only clip recording to the cloud but most cloud storages are that way. I wouldn't put these cameras outdoors as they are not weather resistant but I know people who do put them under eves cause they are so affordable.
Question since you mentioned it. The eufy pan and tilt, can you use the same workaround - set up the pan and tilt functionality on their app and then delete the app and have it maintain that function?
Both of these cameras now work without a third party app install however eufy requires the model with the home logo on the QR code. The model shown in this video does not. This will explain what I mean - imgur.com/BDUbM1O. I don’t know how to find that model. Keep in mind that both of these require their manufacture’s app for any additional features including the recording to the SD card feature. You can use HKSV exclusively though for clip recording.
I don’t know if there is a limit. (Streaming only) The max I’ve had is 19. If you want HomeKit Secure Video though the limit currently is 5 with an iCloud 2TB plan.
@@ModernDayTech Do you recommend the Aqara for quality, and seeking through footage over the Eufy? I want something sharp and have smooth footage. My Wyze is giving me WAY too many issues seeking through footage and it's been terrible on my V2. I like the idea of HomeKit, but I just want the best camera for my use cases. 2 way audio isn't a deal breaker for me as it's for my animals.
I've heard a lot of good things about these types of covers for non-water-resistant cameras outdoors but I don't have any first hand experience with them. I don't know if water moisture still get in them overtime - Check them out. amzn.to/3caIlSC (affiliate link)
Unfortunately not. Aqara uses Zigbee, and the hub for Eufy cameras I believe uses a some sort hidden proprietary WiFi. Eufy indoors cameras that are shown in this video, are normal WiFi, and don't require a Eufy hub. The hub is only for their older outdoor camera and systems. They actually have new outdoor cameras that also use normal WiFi without a hub. They are called Eufy Solo Camera, here they are - amzn.to/3mZEPQQ They also have one with built in solor panel so that is pretty cool. But these new Solo Camera's do not support HomeKit. The old outdoor cameras with the hub, and new indoor cameras, DO! If you have any questions join my communicty discord where you can ask more question to like mind people - mdfm.co/Discord
I bought the g2h after watching your video. I also have eufy 2k PT, and night vision quality of the g2h is just unbearable. It looks like your footage in this video, while the eufy is much better at night - not just a bit like you said. I have them side by side. I might get a bad copy of g2h?
Sorry to hear that. Anything is possible. There are a lot of factors. Did you remember to turn off the second camera when youre comparing. The IR from the two cameras could be too much for one camera.
