Welcome to @RockSolidRig In July 2023 we once again found ourselves in Colorado visiting the beautiful San Juan Mountains. In this video we find ourselves at Eureka Gulch.
On county road 2 near the Eureka Campground you'll find an easy out and back trail that leads up to beautiful (snicker) Lake Emma. Along the way you'll see lots of beautiful scenery, old tramway cables and their associated ruins etc.
This is a fairly easy drive and could likely be done in most 2wd vehicles but do so at your own risk.
Once you arrive at the top you'll see what used to be Lake Emma. Do yourself a favor and do some research on why this lake is, well, no longer reality a lake. Fascinating story to all the old history behind the mining in this specific area.
