Great video. Maybe next time though save the coffee and brew some shots afterwards and - don’t like seeing so much wasted coffee!

how would you compare the spresso grind quality vs the Libra? (i know there's a convenience factor with the Libra in GBW).

Great video, I've just had a look at this machine at my coffee supplier. Q: how to do you know the time to put in the grinder?
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada 2 года назад
The time will depend on your coffee and how fine the grind is. There is no set rule. Usually darker roasts are a little coarser than light roasts.

Is 16 g of coffee, a double shot or a single shot

How does this one compare to the Eureka Stark?
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada Год назад
The grinders are actually quite similar, the Eureka Stark has some aesthetic upgrades, it has the metal base instead of plastic. The Stark does not come with the mignon mat whereas the XL does. Otherwise internally they are the same grinder.

This looks like a great machine for home... I'm also looking at the new Rocket Faustino 3.1 version as an option... similar price in Australia to the XL... would you recommend one over the other for any particular reason? Given I think the Rocket is also designed by Eureka... Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi, we haven't received the Faustino 3.1 in Canada yet but I believe that this grinder is no longer made by Eureka. Rocket changed the manufacturing on the Faustino to Macap. Also, the previous version of the Faustino only had 50mm burrs and the XL has 65 so there is that to consider as well. The XL compares more closely to the Rocket Fausto which has the same 65mm burr size.

Is this the only one that comes with 65mm burrs? All others are 55 or less?
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada Год назад
Hi, yes, this grinder does have 65mm burrs with Eureka's cryogenic "Diamond Inside" coating. Eureka makes grinders with many different sizes though, they have 50mm in the Silenzio, 55mm in the Specialita, 60mm in the Atom and they also have 65mm, 75mm and 85mm burr sets.

Hi, one question, how does it compares to the Mignon Turno exactly?
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada Год назад
The XL comes standard with Diamond Inside burrs which are harder, the adjustment knob is the "oro style" on the XL which is larger and nicer and it comes with the mignon mat.
@xcoreikkix
@xcoreikkix 2 года назад
hi! is only difference between this and specialita size of the burrs? :) any reason to upgrade from specialita?
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada 2 года назад
The main difference is the larger burrs so it is faster, it also comes with the Mignon Mat but that can be purchased separately for your Specialita if you want one. What you would gain by upgrading is grinding speed.

@@iDrinkCoffeeCanada thank you so much! well - as i am doing few shots daily at home, getting few seconds is not that important i believe :)

@@xcoreikkix I tend to agree if you already own a specialita.

Scale*

@iDrinkCoffeeCanada 2 года назад
That's the Whitebird Ultra Thin, it's a great value scale, the price is fair and it works well. It's available here idrinkcoffee.com/en-us/products/whitebird-ultrathin-scale-kc203

Huge problem with it: is too fast, and when you adjust it for/with expensive coffee your eyes get wet!
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada
@iDrinkCoffeeCanada Год назад
I can understand that. This is an issue that arises with many grinders when dialing in an expensive espresso.
@andreibordeianu
@andreibordeianu Год назад
@@iDrinkCoffeeCanada no issue, that was ironic…. Come on! Single dose for dialing coarseness and after in 2 attempts time is also dialed in.
