This is how you push a fighter Jet to its limit. These Austrian Eurofighter Pilot`s did a good show at the "Airpower 2016" Airshow in Austria, Zeltweg.
Imagine, what a beast of a human you have to be in order to withstand the tremendous forces you are exposed to while flying such a fighter plane. I have deep respect for those pilots.
I have no idea what speed they were doing or how much g they pulled but having experienced +6 in a Harrier at 420 knots 480+ mph) and 250 feet around Germany I can appreciate this display.
Why is the fact you are a 'US patriot' relevant...patriotism and fair-minded judgement are not mutually exclusive concepts... or at least they shouldn't be?
I live in the rural north of England, and every couple of weeks or so the RAF does exercises near my house. Sometimes it's Chinooks, sometimes it's C-130s, but when the Typhoons fly over a lot of people mistake it for thunder.
@@ktw_c they where doing exercises a few months back, i live in teeside and wow do that make a noise they bled the tv volume out. You must have heard it becuase they were up and down the north east.
I live in northwest england (Manchester) and i rarely see or hear typhoons from RAF woodvale Ive seen a c130 landing at Manchester Airport from my house due to having a perfect view of their final approach on landing
@@hb1338 I doubt that! The planes flown in Red Bull races are WAY more capable of high G loads I think some are built to take 26G and the pilots can hit instantantaneous (not sustained) G's up to 12. So if you changed your statement to state "fighter" rather than "aircraft" you MAY be right, but I'm still not convinced. 🤔🤔
@@moussaounnoughene221 researched it, you're indeed right! And yeah, the F-22 is technically a way better fighter, that's why it's impressive what the Eurofighter and Rafale did
@@krthecarguy5150 that's a real proof of quality.cqn't wiat foe the next gen ! I grew up ,hen Raptor, Rafale and Typhoon were project. The next gen is already intriguing
A very capable aircraft, with some very smart design decisions. The large canard wing gives it plenty of room for hard-points; the plane has 15, and can carry almost 20,000 lbs of equipment, fuel, and weapons of all kinds. The canards enable you to steer the nose independently, adding another level of agility. It's twin engined for reliability, has super cruise, and even some stealth components. One of the premier fighters in the world.
Yesterday I went to an air show and when this flew in from a mile away over our heads the engine literally made us lose our footing, the sheer force of the engine made pebbles on the ground bounce around even though it was 500 metres I. The sky
I'm saying this from my perspective only.....but for me she even looks fucking hard when she's airborne... The most menacing beast of all. AND SHE CAN DOGFIGHT jeez and we bought the F35...thing is Typhoon is not that much less of a radar signature blip than old fireball XL35 there ...
they should be capable of flying straight up... with half a tank of fuel theoretically they'd still have like 3 tons of force pushing them straight up... power to weight ratio of over 1-1
sometimes these planes fly over my bike shop here in germany. They sound so distinct that i dont even need to look out the window to know that the pilots are having some fun in eurofighters lol
As 4.5 aircraft go, this is one of the world's leading close and beyond visual range (using a Dowding network of radar and interception control and battle field interdiction and FaF DAR cones). So where it lacks in stealth, it makes up for in its incredible very high power look down phased-array radars, very low level terrain following auto pilot with GPS and SynthAp, along with wide field command and strategy processing both inter and beyond VR. It's wide array of high end missiles, FoF, and inter force allied command assistance display, making use of other air forces - creating a devastatingly wide and powerful battlefield unit linked system. Some people have said that the 2021 evolution of the Eurofighter Typhoon with it's upgraded avionics and BVR fire and forget, is now a 4.6 or 4.7 generation aircraft. I'm not born and bred British, but I am an ex pat from Connecticut, and I do love the Typhoon.
After watching the Draken before this (which was awesome) its amazing to see how far tech has advanced. All the new fighters are so much more maneuverable and can change airspeed so quickly. Great high quality vids Paddy! As always, thanks for sharing!
As long as the old school fighter mafia philosophy goes, this is the best fighter ever. Its like more agile F16 that fits a combat load bigger than an f15, and accelerates and climbs faster... Spins harder and faster than anything else on the sky, and out climbs and out accelerates anything not called F22.And even against the supposedly invincible F22, it got kills in combat training, which means that if it actually manages to detect the F22, it can whoop his ass if plays his hand right. Before the Sukhoi fans start, SU 35 it is comparable to a typhoon on handling ONLY IF UNLOADED OR LIGHTLY LOADED.IF BOTH ARE LOADED SU 35 BETTER RUN. Also SU 35 is superb at low speed maneuvering, as EF2000 is superb at high speed maneuvering. Different kind of animals.
While it's extremely good at WVR combat, there's a LOT more to the Typhoon than what the old school Fighter Mafia advocated for. Its sensor fusion is beyond your typical 4th gen fighter like an F15/16 or older Flanker, and combined with its radar and BVR capability (especially once Meteor gets integrated in the Tranche 2/3A aircraft) it will (arguably) closer to a 5th gen aircraft than an older 4th gen.
Lol sorry but an F 22 has this beat in every single facet. And the time to climb? F 15 still had the record. Lol eurofighter is basically a modified f16
A much more capable F16, and a lot more. The Typhoon won in the red flag against the Raptors in Alaska. F16s are out of date and should be scrapped. 80s technology!!
That transition to vertical at 0:44 must have been like 10 Gs... OUCH! The Typhoon is amazingly agile. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm guessing this is because of: 1. Large wing area: 2. Vectoring thrust: 3. Variable canards: 4. High thrust to weight ratio.
Eurofighter has not thrust vectoring. There is a project of a 3D thrust vectoring for the Typhoon but decided to not implement it because it is enough agile. I don't think that transition has been like 10 G because the maximum load factor of the Eurofighter is 9 G and the computer doesn't allow the pilot to eccede 9G. But I completely agree with you that the Typhoon is amazingly agile
It’s actually not very powerful. Small plane with small engines. With only 60 kn per engine it’s tiny by today’s standards. It’s just extremely maneuverable.
Futuristic looking and high performance. The Eurofighter plane does not hedge it's bets. it puts its money where it's mouth is. The Typhoon does everything it looks like should be able to do and more.An exciting plane to watch.
An abiding memory of one of these was at an airshow was when a little dot was on her dad's shoulders with ear defenders on. She was sat up there with her hands covering g her ear defenders too! So sweeet.
@@andreasadam4127 And what do you base that assumption on ? You better go get some facts home boy . The F-35 is widely regarded already is one of the best fighters in the sky . Israel has decimated s400 with it and then on top of that it went and got a 18 to 1 kill ratio against f-15s , which it also beat in a dog fight as well as bvr . Any pilot that has actually flown it would take it over the fighter they flew previously every single time . ( Unless they were a Raptor driver ) name one of any other aircraft that can command and control missiles off of an Arleigh Burke destroyer or off of a THAAD missile system or any number of systems the United States military currently deploys . One of the abilities it will be using F-15 F16 and F18 as missile trucks since the F-35 doesn't carry many missiles . In ground support role it will be using other aircraft to fire on stationary targets that the F-35 has already found . Simply put that aircraft is an assassin , and you're just an ass .
Dr. Westside true,f-35 is like the fireteam you send ahead of your battalion to scout the enemy, and they have access to the armament of support of all those units that don’t have sensors as capable.f-22 is like a sniper who is good at it’s job and can kill someone from 2 or 3 miles away wheres the typhoon is your typical special forces guy who has a mixed skill in close range but would not do the best in reconnaissance or long range combat(bvr) overall f-22 and f-35 are more suited to bvr whereas the typhoon is more suited to dogfights, though recent tech upgrades mean that the typhoon is capable of destroying most 4.5 gen or below aircraft and may have a possibility of taking down a few gen 5,e.g:J20.
Why would Finland spend more money per airframe to get less capability? When Finland's Air Defense staff saw all the classified presentations of all the aircraft it was considering, the decision to go F-35 was an easy one. Typhoon doesn't even have an AESA yet, even though they demo'd it in 2007. Rafale has a beautiful AESA and truly integrated sensor suite, but none of them are in the same class as the F-35, and cost $30-$50 million more, especially now that multiyear F-35A price dropped from $80mil to $71mil. You get twice the airframe life, the most advanced integrated sensor network of any fighter, superior A2A metrics, and plug-and-play interoperability with coalition fighters. The airborne AWACS net provided by F-35s interleaved with each other would be a game-changer for Finnish air defense.
Diver Dan the f35 was not designed for super maneuvers. It is basically a flying supercomputer that complements the f22, with data integration/sharing, targeting, surveillance, electronic warfare, etc. However, lately the Pentagon has been showing more-and-more of its' capabilities. Even with a device that limits its performance, it has shown a great deal of nimbleness. Check out the latest videos and you'll see that the f35 is indeed very agile, perhaps not like the typhoon, su35, and f22 [as far as the Pentagon is willing to show us] but it is better than older jets like the f15, f16, su27, etc.
F 35 Might Be Able To Do The Same !?!? And Different Manouvers !! But I Hope The Typhoon Can Do Different Too! I Hope So! Not Seen Any! Again! You Know!?!? At Slow / Slower Speeds! 😢 😊 😄 😢
@Mars Exulte The only problem with trying to make an aircraft for all roles is it is a compromise and usually poor in all roles, there are a very few exceptions to that rule, not the flop 35.
Live in the north of England and I love the days when you can hear the noise, also get a lot of apaches landing at the airport next to my house to refuel, the police and ambulance helicopters are loud but you know when the Chinooks or Apaches are approaching, cannot describe the sound 🤘 just search Apaches Barton Airport for some good pics
