There is no doubt that Catholicism is in decline and at current rates will be a fringe religion in a generation. The question is, was there something wrong in the way Catholicism is being taught and lived? Yes. Now the question is, what were they doing right until roughly 600 years ago? We should all think on this so we can help bring the Church back. First we must think of what changed from before 1400 to after. One thing is the Churches discipline has been in decline since that time. Every few decades there would be a reduction in requirements for fasting and penance. A slow decline until today going back centuries. Perhaps these tangibly affected the way Catholics thought and lived?

Religion should be a choice not imposed by force, that’s why I’m a European Zoroastrian. I know what Christians & Muslims did to my co-religionists in Sassanid Persia & what Christians did to my ancestors in Europe, no thanks.
