Welcome to our European Farmhouse kitchen design reveal! This is a first look at our Rocky Terrace project, a spec home we recently completed located in Gardnerville, Nevada (currently on the market!).
This kitchen is full of special details such as inset cabinetry, unlacquered brass, and black granite countertops.

Optically, I love the symmetry between sink and range. However, in every day use, the fact is that the range and the sink are the most used pieces. And if there's somebody cooking at the range and somebody cleaning/chopping at the sink, it's annoying to have them back-to-back, bumping into each other. Even having the sink offset from the range by a one-person width helps alleviate this, while still maintaining general symmetry.

I agree. Plus, I like to have my sink by a window and my island without any sink or stove on it so I can serve food buffet style without interruption.

You bring up a good point, when we design a space as such, we allocate additional clearance space for "butt to butt" meaning two people standing working back to back! :)

Your kitchen is absolutely stunning ! But I don't get the "European" adjective. I'm french, live in france and have travelled to england and spain, this has nothing european :) For us euro people this kitchen is so american (but in a good way) : the range, the tap, the cabinets checker door, the giant island etc... We don't have that in europe :)

That’s totally true. I live in Italy and I also have travelled a lot in Europe, we don’t have this kind of kitchen right now. In Italy we used to have in the past, like 50 years ago when there was the gas tanks connected to the stove.

This style is typical of an English country home. We still have a lot of this in the UK but I don’t know about elsewhere

I LOVE this kitchen so much! Absolutely gorgeous!!! I wish you talked about the kitchen nook area/items though because I absolutely love that table and chair set. It’s exactly what I have been looking for our my new space. If anyone knows the name or brand of it, please let me know. Thank you 🙏🏼.

I love that counter. Is it as strong since it doesn't have a sub top (I'm guessing that would be plywood on top of the cabinet and under the counter). I love the thinner look!

For the island the fabricator did a subtop I suggest a 3cm for strength!

I love the pendant lights and want to order them. My island is 7 feet long and I read 14 inch lights would be the best size so wondering if these will be too small? They look amazing in your client's kitchen.

I've watched this video so many times. I love this kitchen so much! Can you you please tell us the size/dimensions of this kitchen? We are in process of working with an architect and making our own house plan and i did the layout the same. Just curious for the size of this kitchen

Oh thank you so so much! I am unsure of the exact dimensions but the island is just over 10' long and the kitchen is about 15'6"x22' long. Hope that helps :) congrats on the house plans!

Hi, when you mentioned that you used flat black in the granite)absolute black, does that mean honed or leathered?

Hi! Honed is the smooth and matte finish. Leathered means textured and matte finish. These countertops are honed. Thanks!!

With so much intentionality, I'm surprised by a couple missed opportunities: pot filler at stove...hidden outlets...task lighting at stove...pendants appear too small of scale for such a large space.

I follow a lot of Studio McGee and I would disagree. I could tell the difference between Chloe and McGee. I like Chloe’s style better. But that’s just me.

@@ashleesimons981 agreed, she's definitely put a Chloe spin on it but the layout and and most key features are pretty much identical to the Studio McGee kitchen. It just feels like I've seen it all before.

U can like both designers…Designers are inspired by each other. We all have pin boards etc…even Studio McGee. They often do a traditional-ish style so many people associate it with them but that style was here long before them

Hi! This was a spec home for a builder so the refrigerator is something that the buyer would purchase on their own.

@@BoxwoodAvenue Thank you for the reply. I guess I was referring to the fact that at no point in the vid do we see where the refrigerator would be placed. I guess we can assume to the left of the island but would be nice to see what was done to that third of the kitchen.

you clearly copies Studio Mcgee, which would not bother me except you are a designer. I would also alert you to the fact that this kitchen does not look anything like a typical european kitchen.
