Always liked Terry Wogan on Radio 2, and everyone used to rave about his ESC commentary. In hindsight though, he was actually wrong so often. Austria gave Germany zero. Switzerland gave Germany zero. He was always going on about neighbour countries helping each other, like Sweden giving Norway 12 here, but I am from UK and we did not deserve to win in the 80s apart from 1981. Sweden gave Norway 12 as it was the best song. I dont know what made Terry always think the UK was hard done by. Some of the UK 1980s songs were terrible. Norway totally deserved this and glad UK gave them 12.
Still can't believe Portugal only scored 9 points with their amazing entry. Adelaide Ferreira gave her soul during that performance, and rightfully deserved more.
I'm surprised that Norway's total is the lowest victory tally ever under this scoring system - considering the mediocre competition, they deserved to win by a far greater margin.

Norway deserved that victory! For a 2nd time in the 80s Germany who finished runner up were snubbed by their fellow German speaking country, lovely to see UK score 100 pts even without a single douze points and first occasion neither Cyprus or Greece traded 12(would happen again just twice) which was rightfully so as both had mediocre entries.
Jack Walker in 1980 they only got 3 points from Luxembourg where are German speakers as well and Switzerland didn't give any points at all to Germany in 1981 making the UK winners.
hanne krogh[which i like] deserved more in 1971 but was overrated in 1985.there were better songs like germany',spain,finland and sweden.my winner is germany
