Thanks for the reaction! Apart from the fact that Lucas is Greek-Cypriot like me and that I love him as an artist, this song for me was the best participation in the ESC ever. It was the most Greek, authentic traditional song, and the Greek type of the dance called "zeibekiko" is my favorite dance. In general, it was the best song in the competition, the best song in Greece and Cyprus and the most epic one

Honestly, if I've ever seen a hotter man in Eurovision history than Chingiz from Azerbaijian 2019, it's Loucas Yiorkas. Also, this chorus is absolutely positively EVERYTHING. I literally got goosebumps here in 2020, 9 years after being introduced to this.

The dance break shows 100% how Greece is. The dancers stole the show for me. Their dance break is a dance that is called "Zeibekiko" and is a dance that men are dancing mostly when they have fun or when they want to show their "manliness" and show their sadness sometimes because of a situation.

That song , it may be the most strong one that Greece , sent to Eurovision, back in Düssendorf in 2011. 7th place, not bad. Stereo Mike and Loucas Yiorkas, gave their soul on stage. Especialy the melodic singing parts of Loucas were fire. Fantastic modern, mix of hip hop and laiko, greek zeimbekiko dance in that 9/8 , characteristic time signature.

YES you're right..these are Ionic columns!👏👏 The translation of the Greek part: "Head up high and open arms (both) My soul has the fire that burns all fears individually I'm making my steps toward God and if I ever fall, I'll get up again" And now you'll understand the meaning of the 🔥 on stage at the moment he says 'fotia' (meaning fire)😉

@@JordanDavisEurovision Can't be translated word by word but I hope you'll get the meaning of the song!☺️ My fire (Mazo) How to put you out my fire and in my heart, in my dreams you come back every night this longing is like a wish and a curse it makes me sick and burns my breasts. (Ivi) Step by step you will get where I want if you want me as much as I do just make the start and I will roll in your arms to come and spend the night. (Mazo) Your love is for me a homeland among foreign countries in numb dreams you come with faulty brakes. (Ivi) You take me out of the swamp and you snap me out of the bottom. (Mazo) Throw all your stars to drink you (Ivi) all night. (Mazo) How to put you out my fire and in my heart, in my dreams you come back every night this longing is like a wish and a curse it makes me sick and burns my breasts. (Ivi) Word by word you will get where I want if you want me as much as I do just make the start and I will roll into your dreams to come and spend the night. (Mazo) Your love is for me a truth into the lie in the light I am your shadow in the dark we become one. (Ivi) I’m coming into your dreams to take a taste of your fire (Mazo) Throw all your stars to drink you (Ivi) all night. Yeah, the rap parts can go, they don't need to stay. I kinda like the way they transition into the chorus, though. Speaking of which it's very Dramatic, but also a little repetitive. And the backdrop is good.

Very good, Jordan! The columns are in the Ionic style! Until the Greeks will see your reaction and react to your reaction, let me give some information about Greek culture. I know such a little about that... 1. The Greeks are very competitive and very proud of their culture, which is older than 4000 years before Christ (B.C.). My aunt (Romanian woman) married to a Greek (they were colleagues during the Faculty of Medicine - many Greeks use to study medicine in Romania bc. It's cheeper) and her husband said to me - during a trip on Acropole-Athens- that he could read inscriptions older than 4000 years from Acropole and could understand them. So they have a culture older then Roman culture, probably as old as the Chinese one. 2. If you go in Greece and on one of more than 400 islands, you will find one of the tastiest dishes. Their vegetables and fruits are still tasty - not as I heard they were in the USA. 3. Around the Greek islands there is the clearest water (Ionic and Aegean Seas). I myself was on more than 30 Greek islands during every summer holiday (in the last 10 years) and I can assure you It's true. 3. The life of Greeks on Islands is not simple. The temperature is so high and It rains once a year. The work is so hard under high temperature so they have a break of 2-4 hours a day - for ex. I saw many shops were closed even in Athens btw. 1 p. m. and 4 p. m.. 4. I know a few words in Greek so I can tell you that Loucas (which is a singer discovered on XFactor) said at last: "Efharisto poli! " = "Thank you very much!". I hope I didn't bore you! Have a nice evening (in Romania It's afternoon now)!

@@sofiamarinou1620 Yaso/Yasas Sofia! I was on Paros 3 times and our host said it rained only once, during that summer (once in the past year? - I can not remember) that year. It was 7-8 years ago. I had great holidays there... I also know a few Greek words.

@gabrielaispas5142
@gabrielaispas5142 2 года назад
@@sofiamarinou1620 ναι, of course. But we don't forget that most of Greek islands' inhabitants have houses in Athens and other cities and they live on those islands only 3 to 6 months a year. That's also the case of Vaso and Yorgou, our hosts from Paros. Paros is one of the fewest islands where we could eat fresh fish (we could see, by ourselves, the fishing boats arriving and providing fish for the restaurants/tavernas). On other islands, the local people said that all the fish, octopus... etc., were coming from Athens (refrigerated). This is the reason we were so often on Paros. But, during the last 15 years (excepting the last 3 Covid-19 years), we also visited Antiparos, Naxos (the biggest producer of meat of Greece), Mykonos (very expensive and very famous for LGBTQ+ tourists who come here), Santorini, Ios, Milos (snake' island+the origin of Venus statue), Samos (Pythagora's birth island+a very famous tunel, from Pythagora's times), Evia, Itaka, Skopelos, Skiathos (the last two were the place where the movie "Mama mia" - about Swedish ABBA band - was shot), Alonnisos, Kefalonia (withso many hornets/vixens...), Patmos, Serifos, Delos, Tinos (a very windy island...) and many others... Every year we used to stay on 1-2 islands and to visit, in a one-day trip, another 1-2 islands. We were also at Meteora monasteries and other Orthodox churches, whose names I can not remember (one, very well-known in all Orthodox countries, is on Tinos island, but I forgot its name). And, for my aunt is living in Athens (Fokionos Negri - Kypseli district), I was also there and visited Acropole ruins. Γεια, Sofia!

That’s true! That and perhaps Soldi even though it was kind of sung/rapped. I prefer rap in other languages at Eurovision. If it’s in English it’s SO EASY for me to tell whether or not it’s good

This could have stayed as a solo project. Eurovision songs of the 2000s and early 2010s were obsessed with forcing Rap verses where there was NO need for them. Personally I don't think any song is hurt as much as this one by that. (I don't wanna be TOO mean but Stereo Mike sounds like every white boy in high school who thought he was just the shit as a rapper but ain't all that) Also yes Loukas as probably competing with Chingiz for most attractive man of Eurovision.

so true Stereo Mike ruined the song basically but it did very well with the televote it was the juries that buried it. It won the 1st semi in televote but only 9th from juries while it came 3rd in the final in televotes and 14th !!@! in the jury vote.
