One of the most unstoppable players of all time, a great combination of extraordinary technique and class with monstrous strength. A genius far ahead of his time.

@@ps123fan Benfica had some great coachs for the time. Including he who's name should not be mentioned🤣Béla Guttmann. But yeah, goals were smaller, there were no substitutions, and despite no yellow cards, the game was harder in terms of physicall contact allowed, so the red cards stayed in the referees pocket for the most part. The ball was heavier, boots were bad. Eusébio had knee surgery 5 times, he had the "world map drawn on his knees" as he used to joke. This in a time where sports medicine wasn't even a thing.
@@michaeljordan310 really??!! If Ronaldo had surgery 9 times on his knees would you think he would still play (although in Saudi Arabia a very weak football league)
People don't have any idea of how much he represent for us Portuguese people in general e and S.L.Benfica fans in particularly as myself. It goes beyond the victories or the goals, as BENFICA had already won the European Cup before he arrive at the Glorious One. He was almost unstoppable, with control, technique, skill, pace and power. He suffered so much from dirty plays and excessive agressiveness of some defenders of that era and yet always very respectful to everyone. In today's football the richest clubs (not necessarily the best as we know in these modern times) would lose their minds for him and set new records of transfer. But most important, he touched the heart of the people, he was genuine, his impact in Portugal is way bigger than any other player including a magnificent Ronaldo. MatigolVidz this is one of finest moments. Thank you.
You can really feel the legend this man was, is, when the day he died an entire country stopped and mourned. The rest of the world payed it's respects, because one of the greatests of the beautiful game had passed away. @@GianiGighenyou know, of all I've seen playing Maradona is the best by far, but i've never seen Eusebio, Cruyff or Pele at their prime. Don Alfredo Di Stéfano made this statement in 2014 so yes he did know Maradona. We must respect his opinion.
I could never say who is the best ever.. Pele and Eusebio were the best in the 60s, Di Stefano and Puskas in the 50s, Cruyff in the 70s, Maradona in the 80s, Ronaldo was the king of his generation (sorry Zidane), Ronaldinho for 3 or 4 years, Messi and CR7 after him... But to say one his better than all the others is just an opinion really
@@GianiGighen Maradona is a bad example for young footballers due to is high consumerism of drugs in his career and after Maradona should have died instead of Eusébio

When he came to Benfica, Eusebio was not a striker. Later he became a striker. In ‘66, ‘67, ‘68, he was a “right side interior”, thus a midfielder. Benfica’s striker at the time was Torres. Jose Torres left benfica in 1971. So Eusebio was a goal-machine-midfielder, for his first years playing in Europe.
I fall in love with him when I seen his run Against Korea. Forget about Maradona's goal Against England. THIS is pure genius where Eusebio literally touch the ball like with glue. Eusebio was God. Midfielder, Goal Machine, yet wing dribbler. He is still live legend. The best player you can ever imagine.
It was always fantastic to watch Eusebio accelerate - a really beautiful, powerful movement - nobody like him - then the dynamite in the right foot to finish. I kept wondering whether R9 watched him - his style is so similar in many ways. Another wonderful tribute - thanks once again for your great videos.
Excatly. Eusebios run Against Korea Remind me R9's Against Compostela. They run woth the ball so precisielly and faster than the Defenders without the ball. They Two and Maradona makes me happy when I watch football
@@masters.1000 imo he may be better on a technical level and even if so it is definitely not by miles, I am however certain that in every other category cr7 is miles ahead tho
I have never seen player so close to Ronaldo R9 with his skills, strength, speed, dribbling, both legs. Respect to Eusebio. Thanks for this video. I did not know he was that good.
He was probably better, because Eusébio had aerial hability, the only thing missing in R9. But he wasn't a striker like R9, many people think he was because of the crazy amount of goals he scored, he was actually a winger.

Yes but with a much smaller frame. And he seems like he just walks past people. Like he is gliding or something. He has to be in top 5 best player ever.
shapz rackz There’s a difference between actual strength and strength on the ball - there are some players like CR7 and R9 who are just freaks of nature, and there are players like Eusebio and Messi who aren’t the biggest, but they can use their body in a way to protect the ball so it seems impossible to take the ball from them without fouling

In the modern football this gentleman would be the biggest star. He played in a time that no red cards was given and defenders destroyed mhis legs. Legend my favourite off all time
His playing style was kinda similar to Ronaldo Nazario who was also more a finisher than creator (from the video he tended to dribble past the opponent than to pass), but he seems to play deeper than the latter. Or something like Rooney with less (but still pretty good) passing ability but MUCH faster and more aggressive in going forward.
Those a lil longer in the tooth, who played and/or watched soccer/football, especially his contemporaries like Pele, Alfredo Di Stefano, Bobby Charlton recognized his greatness. Shortly after Eusébio's death, Di Stéfano stated: "For me Eusébio will always be the best player of all time". His stats speak for themselves, including being the 2nd all time goal scorer of the European Cup knockout competition for the domestic league champions of Europe before being revamped to its current Champions League format in the 1990s. Excluding North America, his scoring prowess was phenomenal, 473 goals in 440 Club games in Europe, 41goals in 64 games representing Portugal. Eusebio Da Silva Ferreira was a phenomenon!
